Your favorite Christian apologists

He was a fantastic apologist; he and his wife had their home (L'Abri) in Switzerland open to young people to come study all the time.

The initial trilogy was
THE GOD WHO IS THERE
ESCAPE FROM REASON
HE IS THERE AND HE IS NOT SILENT

Those are all great books, as is Genesis in Space and Time.

Genesis in Space and Time
yeah that was great -- led into:

JOSHUA AND THE FLOW OF BIBLICAL HISTORY

Death in the City

No Little People

A Christian Manifesto

Whatever Happened to the Human Race?

Everybody Can KNow

A Christian View of the Bible as Truth

Pollution and the Death of Man

J Oswald Chambers

Nothing flashy. Christ made known by a pretty smart guy who knew him well.

I read and re-read his The Incomparable Christ

Never gets old and always leaves me a bit more appreciative of Christ. Or a lot more.

Justin Martyr and Irenaeus

Ha! Basically the first two. If not for Irenaeus, little would be known about the Gnostics until the Nag Hammadi texts were discovered and translated fairly recently. A book from Valentinus was even discovered. Through Irenaeus's ancient preserved work we can see now how even the found Gnostic works his didn't include their actual extremely different beliefs although they are bad enough.

Francis Schaeffer (now deceased)
wrote THE GOD WHO IS THERE and 20-odd other books
My favorite was How Should We Then Live. He walks you through the various philosophical models influencing Western Society since the early church. How such infiltrated art, music political theory and yes even theology.

Met him when I was young (12) at a book tour presentation. He was not in good health but was happy such young people were reading his books. He passed away about two years or so later.
