You know you've come short of God's rest when you're still watching Game of Thrones, or whatever other socially acceptable form of pornography you're purposely watching.

You're getting close.
The problem was not doing works.
The problem was doing works without faith.
Freegrace fixes that problem by getting rid of the works, instead of teaching the faith that produces works.
If you are still living in your old life you do not have the faith that saves that you think you do.
You're just rationalizing your unsaved lifestyle of sin in the name of avoiding a works gospel.

You know if you believe and have entered into God's rest by if you are now at rest from your lifestyle of sin.
Freegrace says that's not true and you can be in God's rest and still live your old lifestyle of sin.

You know if you believe and have been circumcised by the Holy Spirit by if you have put off the deeds of the flesh from your body.
Freegrace says that's not true and you can be circumcised by the Spirit and still have the deeds of the flesh in your body.
psst here is a clue i don't watch game of thrones never have i am not free grace nice commentary sort of but nos scripture
If you are still living in your old life you do not have the faith that saves that you think you do.
i have covered that many times is the allegedly temporal salvation .i really dont know what free grace teaches nor do i care . i know what scripture says
form of pornography you're purposely watching.
so that's all i have to do is avoid porn..
You're getting close.
no actually i am right on target resting in the finished works of the Cross ..its very much scripture

Hebrews Chapters 3 and 4....... Knowing the Story Of Kadesh- Barnea would be a BIG PLUS....please get familiar with that Tale of a Bunch of Losers, whose Lack Of Faith or ( UNBELIEF as GOD considered it ) cost them BIG TIME !

The only thing that cost them was having to go forty years through the Kadesh Barnea instead of 11 days to reach the promised land of Canaan, Deuteronomy 1:2; Numbers 13: chapter 1-14:38. They were not a bunch of losers as they had faith in God, but murmured and complained the whole way not trusting in Moses to lead them as they looked at things that were nothing more than temporal, not seeing the things of God that were before them.

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. we do rest in the finished works of the cross. the price has been paid. we do this by faith

Entering into God's rest means peace that God gives to those who love and obey Him regardless of circumstances, Hebrews Chapter 4.

If you knew what resting in the cross meant you'd be all over BB's posts refuting them.
But I think you are just like all other OSAS adherents. As long as a person is pro OSAS they can say whatever they want and it's fine with you.

If it it’s “ Scripture” you WANT——- It’s Scripture you GOT”......... please be Specific....

We have been very specific in you giving us scripture for what you are saying. It is you that refuses to give scriptural support for a more proper discussions with you.

Opinions are only formed from a point of view as we all have them at times. Points of views are good to discuss as we search the scriptures together for the answers.

so that's all i have to do is avoid porn..
Not watching porn is an obedience of faith.
Works all by themselves, without faith, is the dreaded works gospel that you should be against.
But you have this horribly misguided argument about the works gospel that throws the necessity for obedience out the window because you foolishly think that can only be a gospel of you trying to save yourself. What a joke.

Look friends.....here is how God want us to arrive at Obedience—— Trust Him......Rest in the Gospel Of Grace and be at Peace , Trusting That the Burden Of your pitiful attempt to make yourself acceptable to God By “ being good enough” is a FoolsErrand......
Love for God, which is ultimately what God is looking for , will never happen until you Rest in His Gospel .That Rest will Spur Love .That Love Will spur Obedience......Obedience Problem Solved......HIS WAY......God bless.....
And in the meantime continue to sin without trying to stop it. Because if you do that's you trying to save yourself.
Time to go full Anton on this stupid doctrine of yours.

hey there buddy your barking up the wrong tree ..i have no idea what your talking about ..go find another tree to bark at

We “ Obey” in our NEW Covenant by RESTING in the Gospel Of Grace and the “ Finished Work Of The Cross”......
We “ Obey” Jesus by doing what He said to do THIS SIDE of the Cross......remember that thing? The Cross? .....if you fail to realize all of the things that the Cross changed and the New “Contract” it brought about as God changed His Old Contract to a “ New and Better” One ( because “He found FAULT with the Old One”....... you are going to be like most of the Believers in today’s Churches......Due to poor teachings by Confused, Jack- Leg Preachers Who Inherited these poor teachings from “ Their” Confused teachers......the average Believer walks around with a head full of “ Religious MUSH”, forever trying to make things “ Jell” in the Bible That were never “ meant to Jell”...
The Cross changed almost everything.God's desire now is for His Children is to bask in His Love, Forgiveness and Grace .Too Many Believers are afraid to “ Let go and let God”.....that would take Courage.....that would take FAITH......it would require Taking God At His Word....How it must sadden the Heart of God to see His Amazing Plan Of Love and Grace and Forgiveness and Rest dragged down by those LackIng Faith who insist upon keeping a little “ Law Insurance “, just in case God doesn't really mean what He said about “ Remembering our sins NO MORE!”....
Sadly, it ain’t the first time God had to face the Rejection Of His Word ...... For Him, it must be just like a Rerun Of “ Kadesh Barnea”( Look it up at “ got questions.com ) where the Jews were found guilty of “ UNBELIEF “ and were pretty much left to rot in the Desert....If it is your desire to “ rot in the desert “ all you have to do is do like THEY did——- Refuse to take God at His Word—- REFUSE to REST in the FINISHED Work Of The Cross......Refuse to REST in Paul’s Gospel Given to Him personally by Jesus Christ.....
Some people had better Pray that the “ dying in the Desert” because of a lack of Trust in God is NOT a picture of Damnation......because this “ lack of Trust” is Rampant......
God bless...

Faith and believing are the same thing, Hebrews 11:1. Faith/belief without works is dead faith as one does not believe in obedience to God's commands and statures which has noting to do with the law, but obedience to God's moral laws covered under the greatest law of love, Matthew 22:35-40. We are created unto good works and by faith we are God's workmanship, Ephesians 2:1-10.

Grace does not give us a license to just go around nilly willy doing whatever we want to do. God's grace brings us into obedience to Him that we rest in the peace that surpasses all understanding of life's circumstances here on earth as He keeps our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7.

No one dies in the desert if they have faith and are believing and trusting in the Lord to see them through the desert.

“ Resting in Christ” refers to Salvation ONLY!
If you were resting in Christ in salvation you'd be resting from your sin.
But Freegrace doctrine stupidly says if that's true then that's a works gospel.

If you're really 'keeping' the Sabbath Rest of God you'd be free from the taskmaster of sin you served before the Sabbath Day of salvation arrived. That's not a works gospel. Resting from sin is the sign that you are at rest in Christ in salvation.

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:
“So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ”
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”
Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Hebrews 4:1-9

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. we do rest in the finished works of the cross. the price has been paid. we do this by faith

This is not what verse 3 says but you added your own words to the scripture..

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

This will be the 1000 years when we reign with Him after He returns and removes our enemies.

Hebrews 4:6-9

  • Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

Now there is much work to be done.

Preaching
Teaching
Pastoring
feeding the poor
healing the sick
casting out devils
visiting those in prison
seeing about orphans and widows
supporting local ministries
clothing the naked
counseling those in need
and on and on and on...

Working and providing for our own, those who God has placed in our lives, including our family.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

There is a rest to come for His people, and the way we enter that rest to come, is by faith in Christ, in which we live in obedience before Him.

It seems to be fine with you too.
It gives you something to complain about, which is what you obviously want.

Yeah, let's see the Scripture.

Ok

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Matthew 5:27-29
