An Open Debate on the Trinity with JLB

Thank you.
The fact that you had to be dragged kicking and screaming to admit that the scripture puts no constraint of time on the Son's existence tells me you are only feigning not to know the possible implication of this.
There never was a time when He did not exist .
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Col. 1:15 KJV)

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
(Ps. 2:6-12 KJV)

It indicates that Christ's followers believed He was God Himself and shows that Jesus said/did nothing to dissuade that.
OK, but, what did they mean? Did they understand that He was one God in three persons or did they understand that He was Deity because He was the Son of God (Deity)?

That is view of this a few verse earlier!
John 20:17- Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18- Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

You have to smother your Bible with coprolite to do that~

John 20:28- And Thomas answered and said unto him, " My Three-In-One God!"
Or "My Lords the Father, Son, and Holy-Ghost-God!"

What's the difference?

Even though it was believed Jesus was deity,,,it had to be worked out re the Trinity.

However the Father is in scripture, the Son is, and also the Spirit or Holy Spirit.

But it also says what I underlined:
OUR LORD AND GOD, Jesus Christ.

These men were highly intelligent and knew what they were writing.

I have known others that are disciples of Jesus but do not believe in the Trinity or that He is God.
The problem I have with this is that He either was who He thought He was,,,or Jesus was insane.
I don't see another understanding of Him.

Do you believe that the resurrection occurred?
Hi Wondering,

The problem isn't in the Scriptures. The problem is with our understanding. It's with our understanding of the word God. People equivocate using this word. That's where the confusion comes from. It's easily reconciled. The problem is that many have had this idea drummed into them that if they don't believe the Trinity doctrine they aren't a Christian. Therefore many, if not most, are afraid to question it. People will even believe something they can't explain and that their brain knows is not logical.

People say Jesus is called God and therefore is the Almighty. Let's use that reasoning again, Baal and Molech are also called god. I don't think any Christian would call them the Almighty. So, you see, that line of reasoning falls apart.

There's a big difference. One can believe that Jesus is Deity yet not the same being as the Father.

All three are mentioned in Scripture, but, does Scripture say they are all one?

Why don't you non-trinnie believers start a topic like "Is the Trinity biblical"- or are you afraid of the Al Powerful JLB....

Actually, I have thought about this.
Baal is a god.
But did he create the universe?
Who do you say that Jesus is?

Jesus is not the same being as the Father.
So you believe Jesus is deity?
But you can't accept the Trinity.
Must log off now.
Tomorrow.
