.For some reason, men, the male gender, seem to have a propensity for one or the other in many biblical topics, and refuse the plurality of God's word concerning many scriptural topics.
It's a mystery to me, but I read it all the time, and it's at times, the basis for much confusion concerning the truth.
I agree as I wasn't thinking about that verse at the time.
Yes, we know God is not the author of confusion and if we would just read that which He has already given those to write then only there lays the truth. To many man made doctrines and theories that cause confusion and division among the brethren.for_his_glory

Gods intent for the Israelites was to lead them into a land of milk and honey.
Yet it is written about them
As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
So the question is how did God harden Pharaohs heart?
Its just as you read in the text. The Pharaoh was a conceited absolute ruler considered a God by his people. In that mindset he would not listen to the Lord who was commanding him to let His people go. He also, as God brought disaster on Pharaoh, would have become very vengeful. God hardened his heart in that manner. But the Pharaoh hardened his own heart and was responsible for his own actions.

There is no question as to How God hardened Pharoah's heart or a why either!!!!
God is God, and God does what He wishes, and owes no explanation for His actions and choices, to those he created.
He is the MASTER. ABOVE ALL THINGS. THE LORD of all creation!!!!
Romans 9:17-18 declares, “For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: ‘I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.’ Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.” From a human perspective, it seems wrong for God to harden a person and then punish the person He has hardened. Biblically speaking, however, we have all sinned against God (Romans 3:23), and the just penalty for that sin is death (Romans 6:23). Therefore, God’s hardening and punishing a person is not unjust; it is actually merciful in comparison to what the person deserves.
For me, the answer is clear that comes from God, about those who reject His truth, and the consequences from God that comes to them for their choices.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 KJV 10" And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusional mind, and the mind of a reprobate, because they believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
A lot of the confusing teaching and opinions and false beliefs that they spread to as many as possible today, are a direct result of people refusing God's truth, and replacing it with their own ungodly agenda's in their deceitfulness, and receive the just do for their unrighteousness, a strong delusional mind, and the mind of a reprobate, to be damned to hell for all eternity.
Man has been full of iniquity since the day of Adam's fall. It repented God that He even created man and was about to destroy them and all the world with a flood, but found favor in one man named Noah and by God's grace through Noah's faith in Him we all have a chance to turn back to God, but not everyone will and that's sad. Genesis 6:5-8
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
The word translated "evil" is from a Hebrew word kelalah that means adversary, affliction, calamity, distress and misery. This is what God has created and puts on those who He has cursed for their rebellion against Him so they know "I AM" in all sovereignty, Deuteronomy 27:11-26.
Exodus Chapter 7-11 is a witness of the "Great I AM" and what God brought forth in His affliction, calamity, distress and misery on Pharaoh and the Egyptians.
God gave Pharaoh and the Egyptians a chance to repent and turn back to Him like He does with everyone, but they reject God.
It is also written
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
I am not questioning my God whom I LOVE.
I believe Pharaoh's heart was hard and he reacted with vengeance against Gods judgments. That is how God hardened his heart. God knew how Pharaoh would react. Pharaoh was responsible for his own actions that came out of his own heart. He was conceited. God did not force Pharaoh's choices.
They who are damned have done that to themselves as God judges the heart and His judgements are just.
Their OWN evil desire.

The Lord did in deed give Pharoah a chance to repent, but told Moses from the beginning that Pharoah will harden his heart against God and not let the children of Israel go.
So the LORD said to Moses: “Pharaoh’s heart is hard; he refuses to let the people go. Exodus 7:14
This was before the first plague even started.
By the time of the fifth plague Pharoah still had not heeded the Lord, and continued to harden his heart. The Lord warned him.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me. For if you refuse to let them go, and still hold them, behold, the hand of the LORD will be on your cattle in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the oxen, and on the sheep—a very severe pestilence…Then Pharaoh sent, and indeed, not even one of the livestock of the Israelites was dead. But the heart of Pharaoh became hard, and he did not let the people go. Exodus 9:1-3,7
Pharoah had chosen to continually harden his heart through these plagues. So when it says… but the Lord hardened the heart of Pharoah, we have to consider what had happened up to that point, and not take this one verse out of context, and isolate it from all the rest, so that we come up with the wrong idea.
But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh; and he did not heed them, just as the LORD had spoken to Moses. Exodus 9:12
We can just as easily say that God gave Pharoah over to the dictates of his own hard heart.

good verse and will add this one to it

John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Notice John 5:29.
"those who have done evil, the resurrection of damnation".
So, every person who has ever been born and lived to be 13 yrs old, has "done evil"..... and Paul says that we all have "fallen short of the glory of God, and "all have sinned". (done evil).
So, if the verse says, that "done evil" sends you to hell (resurrection of Damnation) then the lake of fire, and "done good" gets you into heaven, then that means that none of us go to heaven, as all of us have done evil.
So, what is that specific situation per person, that causes the "resurrection of damnation" that finds you at the Great White Throne Judgement, with your name not found in the 'Lamb's book of Life". ??????????

How to escape that?
Jesus said...."you must be born again". As when you are born again, (not just the water baptized) but BORN AGAIN, you receive "the gift of salvation, and "the gift of righteousness" that causes our born again SPIRT to become "ONE with God"......while we are still alive in this body on this earth.
What does that mean?
It means that on earth and after death, we the born again, we the bride of Christ... we the body of Christ.... are "in Christ", "redeemed by the blood of the lamb", and protected from a "damnation" verse that says that those that have done evil. John 3:36 will end up in the lake of fire.
Remember the verse that says.."an EVIL HEART= of UNBELIEF"? .... There is you "Done evil"... And that is why Jesus tells us that "if you do not believe in me, you will die in your SINS", and you die here. John 3:36.
Here is the interesting thing about "damnation"......Its the fact that every unbeliever is already damned on earth. They are just waiting to GO to hell.
To change this end result, Jesus said......>"you must be born again", as by being born again, you leave being damned and enter into ETERNAL LIFE.
Thank YOU God !!!!! for coming down here and dying as Christ on the Cross so that by your shed blood and death and resurrection, we can become "the righteousness of God in Christ""""..... "as Jesus IS so are the born again, in this world",....... and reader, that is certainly not to be any more defined as "evil".
