I've never heard of permits being required for repairs. Permits are for when replacement of the entire unit will be done. But don't worry because they still get their money. I, as the technician would need mutiple licenses Gas fitter, Mech IV for the hvac & venting. EPA and all those before the contractor license which lets you pull the permit!
 
Seems like when someone in high up places throw out balloons, they usually float back down as law.

Why are there options for MOM and DAD?
I mean, WHAT HAS CHANGED from the beginning of the world to now?

And why does the government worry so much about my well-being,
but not enough to leave me alone? Or cause people stress with all this totalitarianism that's going on.
The government is concerned with the well-being of the citizens. Why should you be left alone? Do you really not want police, first responders, the courts, etc?

Perhaps you're drifting more towards totalitarianism in Italy but I don't see that happening in the US.

Unfortunately, nothing much is happening here.

By being left alone, I mean that it should be my decision if I want a gas stove, not the governments by making it illegal.

I don't really care to be cared for by any government. This is not what the govt was intended for.

There is a lot of hyperbole about the US government making gas stoves illegal. If that ever happens it will be l-o-n-g into the future.

I am old enough to receive both social security and Medicare, and I am thankful for both. If you're so rich that you don't need either, fine, but there are many millions of people who need government assistance in one form or another. I don't know what the situation is in Italy, but I am very, very glad that we have police, the military, first responders (EMTs, firefighters, etc.) We had a 300,000+ wildfire in my state in 2022 and there is terrible flooding in California and severe tornado damage in various southern states. Florida really suffered from recent hurricanes. I bet the people living in those states (including my own) are very, very thankful that the government cares for then.

The Declaration of Independence says, in part, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Without government caring for the people, we would descend into primitive chaos, with the strongest, most violent people taking advantage of everyone else. Is that really what you want?

That depends on the government. Some were/are created to take care of the population. Socialism might be one example as the government owns and controls property and natural resources for the benefit of all citizens. The individual has little to no say in determining how they are used and distributed. The premise being that everyone shares.

I'm with you. All someone has to do these days is say, "You know, I think we should look into natural gas emissions." Suddenly out of the rotten baseboards come all sorts of ,"Oh this is terrible! The governments going to lock us down and make us eat poop for dinner!! Oh, oh save us!!"

I agree that even if such a law should come to pass, and I'm speaking statewide or nationally, not just some small jurisdictional authority, it would be a long time before NG would stop flowing from kitchen stoves. I would think that some common sense, in the end, would prevail and it would be determined that the small amount of whatever it is that NG stoves are going to kill us all with, is determined not to be of any significance to the 'model of perfection' that everyone seems to want life to be these days.

People have been dying for 6,000 years and there isn't any fix to it.

Thanks for writing this. It seems that people are ready to "fly off the handle", no matter how implausible or irrelevant an issue is. There is something seriously wrong with people who devour mass media crap and regurgitate it as truth.

Which are in peril.

Have you read the OP? It poses a question: do you cook with gas. So we are (or should be) discussing gas stoves.

Our freedoms are most definitely not in peril. Now, back to the subject being discussed...

The options are available for children adopted by same sex couples or for children of parents 5ha5 use gender nuetral titles. It's nothing big.

Mostly it's comitties throwing our ideas and news organizations repeat this stuff for ratings.
