Hello Everyone,

I am reading chapter 14. The chapter talks about the spiritual gifts, speaking in tongues and the gift of propeshy, it mentions the greater of the two is the gift of propeshy.

I wonder who God choses for these gifts and how would you know or do know if you have the gift of propeshy? Will God tell you or show you?

Speaking in tonuges, is this the language of the holy spirit?? how do you use this gift for God's purpose? If you can't speak it who will be able to interpret the speaking and understand what it means?

The reason that prophesy is over tongues is because tongues builds you up, while prophesy builds others up. while its great to be able to pray in tongues and have that communication, prophesy allows that communication to build up others.

Essentially, you pray for discernment of your gift. I have read that anyone can pray in tongues, but dont confuse this with speaking in tongues. Praying in tongues is a prayer of your spirit with the Spirit. It completely goes around your intellect so you may not even know what you are praying for. But God knows. He guides it. Prophesy isnt necessarily the telling of future events. Its a communication from God through you with the intent of building the person up. You use them both for Gods purpose. One for telling others, and the other for praying for others.
