Are Christians to keep the Sabbath?

old covenent: Levitical Priesthood, animal/ grain sacrifices, Mosaic Temple

This is the Old Covenant...

Exo 24:3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.
Exo 24:4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
Exo 24:5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.
Exo 24:6 And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
Exo 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

New Covenant: Jesus Christ and the Church--the new Sacrifice, the new Priesthood, and the new Temple where God comes down to meet man.

New Covenant...

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Notice verse 13? This New Covenant, writing the Laws of God in our hearts and minds, replaces the Old Covenant. This is the New Covenant.

The schedule of worship in the first covenant is for service in that covenant of Levite/ sacrifice/ and temple. It became obsolete along with the priesthood, sacrifice, and temple of the first covenant.

Nope, not what it says, it says that it is becoming obsolete and will become obsolete when...

Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

When? At the return of Christ and the establishment of His Kingdom on earth...

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Isa 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
Isa 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Isa 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Mic 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
Mic 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Mic 4:3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Mic 4:4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.

This has not occurred yet. For proof of that, read the newspaper.

The key to understanding the end of the first covenant with the people of God is the part about the forgiveness of sin in the Jeremiah/ Hebrews passage about the New Covenant (the part which law keepers don't make a point of quoting, but which is so important to understand the role of the law in this New Covenant).

The old system of sacrifice, priest, and temple is no longer needed for a people forever and perfectly forgiven in Christ. The author of Hebrews explains this. I will attempt to explain it here as time permits.

Are we forever forgiven? Once saved, always saved? Nope...

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

The job of High Priest continues to this day...

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Heb 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

Now if there is no law, there is no sin...

Rom 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

And therefore no need for an intercessor, but Christ ever lives to make intercession for us. A continuing action, because we sin regularly, either by commission or omission...

1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

And sin is the transgression of the law. Thankfully, we have a High Priest who knows us...

Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We need this mercy and grace (unmerited pardon from our sin and death penalty) regularly.

What does the Bible say about the Sabbath Day? Ex 20:8-10
We are to worship God...in the OT & NT. The question is which day should we worship? God says we are to set aside a day to worship Him. so what is that day? Some say we are to worship God on the Sabbath...that is the 7th day of the week or on Saturday, others say on Sunday of upon the first day of the week. We can say each of us are wrong but when we go to the Bible and see what the scriptures say about what day of the week that it is settled by the word of God. When was the day of Sabbath given to the Jewish people as a day of worship? The day was given to Moses on Mount Sinai when the law was given to the Jewish people. Moses called all Israel...the Bible tells us the law was given to Israel and Israel alone. The Gentiles never observed the Sabbath.

In Col 2:14-blotting out (due away with) the handwriting of ordinances that was against us which was contrary to us and took it out of the way nailing it to His cross. When Jesus died on the cross as far as the Jewish nation was concerned the law concerning the Sabbath was nailed to the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. In His death, Jesus gave a new law. In that law we are taught how to worship God. We learn on which day to worship God. These are biblical facts , not theories but biblical facts: Luke 24:1, Jesus arose from the dead upon the first day of the week. John 20:19, After Jesus' resurrection appeared with the disciples upon the first day of the week. Not on Saturday, the Sabbath day, but upon Sunday which is the first day of the week. The Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles on the first day of the week.

The NT Church had it's beginning upon the first day of the week, which started on Pentecost. In Acts 2 is the biblical history of the beginning of the Church. Peter preached to the people that day, baptizing them and 3,000 people were added the the Church. The book of Revelation 1:10, Rev. chapter 2 and Rev. chapter 3, seven times John wrote on the Lord's day or the first day of the week which is Sunday. There are many more scriptures that refer to the first day of the week as Sunday.

I have gone through this about 100 times, so this time I'll C&P another author...

[SIZE=+1]What Does Colossians 2:14 Really Say?[/SIZE]

It is of interest to note that the expression "the handwriting of requirements" is a Greek legal term that signifies the penalty which a lawbreaker had to pay--through Jesus the penalty was wiped out ("the handwriting of requirements"), not the law! "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them" (Heb 10:16).

Even Protestant commentators realize this. Notice what Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible states about Colossians 2:14:
Whatever was in force against us is taken out of the way. He has obtained for us a legal discharge from the hand-writing of ordinances, which was against us (v. 14), which may be understood,
1. Of that obligation to punishment in which consists the guilt of sin. The curse of the law is the hand-writing against us, like the hand-writing on Belshazzar's wall. Cursed is every one who continues not in every thing. This was a hand-writing which was against us, and contrary to us; for it threatened our eternal ruin. This was removed when he redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, Gal 3:13. (from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible: New Modern Edition, Electronic Database. Copyright (c) 1991 by Hendrickson Publishers, Inc.).
Some will argue that you still cannot keep the ten commandments (for "all have sinned"), even if they are all mentioned as being in effect after the crucifixion. Does this mean one should not try?

Furthermore, let's look at another translation:
14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross (Colossians 2:14, NASB)
The handwriting of requirements (often also called the hand-writing of ordinances) or certificate of debt was wiped away and nailed to the cross.

Which requirements were wiped out?

Please understand that the expression "the handwriting of requirements" (cheirógrafon toís dógmasin) is a Greek legal expression that signifies the penalty which a lawbreaker had to pay--it does not signify the laws that are to be obeyed--only the penalty. It is only through the acceptance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that the penalty was wiped out ("the handwriting of requirements"). But only the penalty, not the law! - Bob Thiel

No, the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles on the Feast of Pentecost...

Act 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Had those Apostles not been keeping the Feasts of the Lord as outlined in Lev 23, specifically Pentecost (count fifty)...

Lev 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
Lev 23:16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
Lev 23:17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
Lev 23:18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.
Lev 23:19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
Lev 23:20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
Lev 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
Lev 23:22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

They would not have been there to receive the Holy Spirit.

The NT Church had it's beginning upon the first day of the week, which started on Pentecost.

And where did Pentecost come from?

Lev 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

Interestingly enough, Sunday, Easter and Christmas are no where to be found in this list of the Feasts of the LORD.

Here are a few...

Act 13:13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
Act 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Act 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

Act 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Act 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

This thread is about the Sabbath, but the Sabbath stands or falls with the Ten Commandments. Are the Ten Commandments referred to in the New Testament?

Commandment 1: Paul said, "God, who made the world and everything in it...they should seek the Lord" (Acts 17:24,27). Paul also said, "I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law" (Acts 24:14). "And what agreement has the temple of God have with idols?" (II Cor 6:16). "you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God" (I The 1:9). "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God" (2 The 2:3-4).

Commandment 2: "we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols" (Acts 15:20). "Now while Paul waited for them in Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols...Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said...'God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed anything'" (Acts 17:16,22,24-25). "Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four footed animals and creeping things" (Rom 1:22-23). "But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is...an idolater" (I Cor 5:11). "Neither... idolators...will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Cor 6:9-10). "And do not become idolaters as were some of them...Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry" (I Cor 10:7,14). "And what agreement has the temple of God have with idols?" (II Cor 6:16). "Now the works of the flesh are evident...idolatry" (Gal 5:19,20). "For this you know that no...idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God" (Eph 5:5). "Therefore put to death...covetousness, which is idolatry" (Col 3:5). "you turned to God from idols" (I The 1:9).

Commandment 3: "they are all under sin...Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness" (Rom 3:9,14). "Let all...evil speaking be put away from you" (Eph 4:31). "But now you yourselves are to put off all these:...blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth" (Col 3:8). "they may learn not to blaspheme" (I Tim 1:20). But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be...blasphemers" (II Tim 3:1,2).

Commandment 4: "Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures...And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks" (Acts 17:2;18:4 see also 13:14,27,42,44). "let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need" (Eph 4:28) and "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat'" (II Thes 3:10); (recall that the requirement to work is also part of the Sabbath command, thus even that portion of the commandment is repeated in the New Testament.) "And to whom did He swear they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?" (Heb 3:18). "For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: 'And God rested on the seventh day from all His works'" (Heb 4:4). "There remains therefore a rest (literally sabbatismos, 'Sabbath rest') for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His" (Heb 4:9-10).

Commandment 5: "being filled with all unrighteousness...disobediant to parents" (Rom 1:29,30). "Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother', which is the first commandment with promise: that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth" (Eph 6:1-3). "the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience" (Col 3:6). "Children obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord" (Col 3:20). "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be...disobediant to parents" (II Tim 3:1,2).

Commandment 6: "being filled with all unrighteousness...murder" (Rom 1:29). "You shall not murder" (Rom 13:9). "Now the works of the flesh are evident...murders" (Gal 5:19,21). "the lawless and insubordinate...murders...manslayers" (I Tim 1:9).

Commandment 7: "being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality" (Rom 1:29). "So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress" (Rom 7:3). "You shall not commit adultery" (Rom 13:9). "But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral" (I Cor 5:11). "Neither... adulterers, nor homosexuals...will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Cor 6:9-10)."Nor let us commit sexual immorality as some of them did" (I Cor 10:8). "Now the works of the flesh are evident...adultery, fornication" (Gal 5:19). "For this you know that no fornicator...has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God" (Eph 5:5). "the lawless and insubordinate...fornicators...sodomites" (I Tim 1:9,10). "fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Heb 13:4).

Commandment 8: "You shall not steal" (Rom 13:9). "nor thieves...will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Cor 6:10). "I have been...in perils of robbers" (II Cor 11:25-26). "Let him who stole, steal no longer" (Eph 4:28).

Commandment 9: "You shall not bear false witness" (Rom 13:9). "Therefore, putting away lying" (Eph 4:25). "Do not lie to one another" (Col 3:9). "the lawless and insubordinate...liars...perjurers" (I Tim 1:9,10). "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy" (I Tim 4:1-2). "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be...slanderers" (II Tim 3:1,3). "God, who cannot lie" (Ti 1:2). "it is impossible for God to lie" (Heb 6:18).

Commandment 10: "being filled with all unrighteousness...covetousness" (Rom 1:29)."You shall not covet" (Rom 7:7). "You shall not covet" (Rom 13:9). "But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is...covetous" (I Cor 5:11). "nor covetous...will inherit the kingdom of God" (I Cor 6:10). "we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted" (I Cor 10:6). "you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Gal 5:16). "For this you know that no fornicator...nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God" (Eph 5:5). "Therefore put to death...covetousness, which is idolatry" (Col 3:5). "For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness" (I The 2:5). "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have" (Heb 13:5).

"Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city" (Rev 22:14).

John 8:32,

Pentecost." The last name is found only in the New Testament; it came fifty days after the Passover, and came on the first day of the week. In many respects it was considered the greatest feast of the year, and brought more people into Jerusalem than any of the other feasts. Some have contended that it commemorated the giving of the law upon Mount Sinai as it was, as they claimed, fifty days from the time they left Egypt to the giving of the law.

This was a memorable day with the Jews, and became the birthday of the church. It was an opportune time for the Holy Spirit to come as a fulfillment of the promise made by Jesus. All things are now ready; Jesus had ascended to the Father about a week before this, after telling the apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit; they had spent much of the time in prayer, and were now ready for the advent of the Holy Spirit. "They were all together in one place." We do not know what place this was; probably it was the same room where they had spent the week.

There are no mentions of man made traditional holidays mentioned in the Bible.

The aspect of 'covenant' that the author of Hebrews specifically addresses is the matter of the first temple, priesthood, and sacrifice that the people of God were REQUIRED to approach God through for the purpose of staying in covenant with God.

This inferior way of relating to God (inferior because of the weak nature of man) was replaced by a better covenant of Temple, Priesthood, and Sacrifice--namely, Jesus Christ and the Church. It is through that 'New' Covenant that men are brought near to God forever and perfectly (that is NOT OSAS), making the old way, which could not do that, obsolete and no longer needed. Not abolished, just not needed anymore--as in 'laid aside'. This is what Hebrews is all about.

And with the laying aside of that old, inferior way of relating to God (it could not make men perfect), so also the lawful procedures governing that way of relating to God, and the schedule to perform them in, became obsolete and no longer needed for a system of worship that was itself laid aside. That is why the timetable of old covenant worship is no longer required. Not categorically disallowed. Just not required anymore as it used to be to stay in covenant with God. Faith in Christ is how we get in, and stay in covenant with God now. We have a New Covenant of Temple, Sacrifice, and Priesthood through we are required to approach God through now, and the duties of that covenant are carried out 24/7/365, not just at specific moments in time.

'Are Christians to keep the Sabbath?'

"That their hearts might be comforted ... this I (Paul) say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words ... DO NOT YOU BE JUDGED / CONDEMNED / INTIMIDATED / INCRIMINATED / VICTIMIZED by anyone [of the world] in your eating and drinking whether in respect … of SABBATHS’ FEAST – month’s or Sabbaths’ incidence – which is but a spectre of things a-coming CHRIST BEING THE SUBSTANCE … THE HEAD, from Whom all the Body (of Christ’s Own) KNIT TOGETHER by joints and bands [of SABBATHS’ FEAST], INCREASETH WITH THE INCREASE OF GOD!”

The vibrantly LIVING Church of Jesus Christ like a light shining in the face of the persecuting “world” and “power of DARKNESS” … “SABBATHS’ FEAST”, “GIVING THANKS UNTO THE FATHER who hath made us PARTAKERS in the inheritance of THE SAINTS IN LIGHT”— CHRIST “… the LIGHT of the WORLD” and “SUBSTANCE” being worshipped.

SHOW ME THAT about Sunday in the Scriptures!

Never under the Old Covenant received God’s People SUCH reason, ground, motivation, and essence of and for “SABBATHS’ FEAST” …

… which to the Sunday worshipping Church of the present age, NATURALLY is most obnoxious heresy.

DO NOT YOU BE JUDGED / CONDEMNED / INTIMIDATED / INCRIMINATED / VICTIMIZED by anyone [of the world] in your eating and drinking whether in respect … of SABBATHS’ FEAST – month’s or Sabbaths’ incidence – which is but a spectre of things a-coming CHRIST BEING THE SUBSTANCE … THE HEAD, from Whom all the Body (of Christ’s Own) KNIT TOGETHER by joints and bands [of SABBATHS’ FEAST], INCREASETH WITH THE INCREASE OF GOD!â€

The vibrantly LIVING Church of Jesus Christ like a light shining in the face of the persecuting “world†and “the power of DARKNESS†… “SABBATHS’ FEASTâ€, “GIVING THANKS UNTO THE FATHER who hath made us PARTAKERS in the inheritance of THE SAINTS IN LIGHTâ€â€” CHRIST “… the LIGHT of the WORLD†and “SUBSTANCE†being worshipped.

SHOW ME THAT about Sunday in the Scriptures!

Never under the Old Covenant received God’s People SUCH reason, ground, motivation, and essence of and for “SABBATHS’ FEAST†…

… which to the Sunday worshipping Church of the present age, NATURALLY is most obnoxious heresy.

Show me in the New Testament where the Sabbath is to be observed on Saturday. Or any day for that matter.

'Are Christians to keep the Sabbath?'

Hebrews 4:8,9,10, and 4 …
“If Jesus had given them (the People of God) REST [which He DID], God would never after these things [that Jesus did] speak of another day [of salvation rest, again]— there THEREFORE MOST DEFINITELY DOES REMAIN OBLIGATORY FOR GOD’S PEOPLE keeping of the Sabbath Day HE (Jesus) HAVING HAD ENTERED INTO HIS OWN REST AS GOD from his own works restedâ€â€” God’s “works†… “God thus concerning did speak … And God the day the Seventh Day from all his works restedâ€

Au contraire, there are mentions of them...

Jer 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Eze 8:14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
Eze 8:15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
Eze 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Grk for rest here is Sabbatismos = a keeping of a Sabbath.

Heb 4:9

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Over and above the sabbatical rest and the rest of Canaan, there still remains a rest, a sabbatism (sabbatismos), for every child of God. It is God's rest; a rest which he has provided, and such as that which he himself enjoys; a rest from all the toils and ills of this sinful and wearisome life. Of this the Christian has even now a foretaste in the Kingdom and patience of God's dear Son. "Come unto me," says Christ, "all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Your Greek translation is incorrect: The word sabbatismos occurs only once in the Bible: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest [sabbatismos] for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. A day of rest...not to keep the Sabbath holy as the law was in the Old Testament.

I am not sure what you are implying here....

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Col 2:16-17 (KJV)

The sabbath means rest. For we who have believed do enter into that rest... . There remains a sabbath rest for the people of God... . Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience." (Heb. 4:3-11.)

The seventh day was the Sabbath or rest of God in creation, and was afterwards given to the Israelites, and formed part of their economy of types. But since Christ has come, this typical rest cannot be kept without ignoring him as our rest. The Sabbath of the Israelites is past, and the first day of the week has begun.

No the translation stands, the word Sabbatismos is derived from the word sabbaton.

G4520
σαββατισμός
sabbatismos
sab-bat-is-mos'
From a derivative of G4521; a “sabbatism”, that is, (figuratively) the repose of Christianity (as a type of heaven): - rest.

G4521
σάββατον
sabbaton
sab'-bat-on
Of Hebrew origin [H7676]; the Sabbath (that is, Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); by extension a se'nnight, that is, the interval between two Sabbaths; likewise the plural in all the above applications: - sabbath (day), week.

The other word in Hebrews 4 is katapausis

G2663
κατάπαυσις
katapausis
kat-ap'-ow-sis
From G2664; reposing down, that is, (by Hebraism) abode: - rest.

But in Hebrews 4:9, the word is Sabbatismos.

But in Hebrews 4:9, the word is Sabbatismos.

Do you celebrate the Sabbath?

Show me in the New Testament where the Sabbath is to be observed on Saturday. Or any day for that matter.

GE:

I am showing you where it _was_ observed and feasted in Christ, "Sabbaths' Feast".

Paul showed you that ... in Colossians 2.

It is only one of many places.

Take it or leave it ... what would it concern me?
