it has nothing to do with opinion. God says so. I believe everything He says.

It has everything to do with opinion, unless you can show objective proof that God says that.

Since you can't prove it, you cannot reasonably claim anything but belief and opinion.

Now you can continue to stomp your feet and hold your breath and claim you're right and that's it phtpth.... but that won't change your beliefs into provable fact.

Faith in God is a substance. It is borne out in changed lives and works of God through those lives. We believe in calling those things that are not as though they were--and we see them come about!

Our faith in Jesus Christ bears FRUIT! The power of God is coursing through us by His Spirit who lives in us.

We hold proof within us. He lives in us. We know it.

You, on the other hand are full of wishful thinking and nothing else. Stomp away...let's see your gods work, like Elijah told the prophets of Baal---look what happened to them! 1 Kings 18. Look it up and read it.

I agree entirely, which is why I see changed lives and works of God through our faith.

Our faith in Jesus Christ bears FRUIT!

Our faith in God bears fruit.

The power of God is coursing through us by His Spirit who lives in us.

Same here, praise God!

We hold proof within us. He lives in us. We know it.

As do we

You, on the other hand are full of wishful thinking and nothing else.

So you say. Of course your claims have no better basis than ours.

Stomp away...let's see your gods work, like Elijah told the prophets of Baal---look what happened to them! 1 Kings 18. Look it up and read it.

I've read it a hundred times. It's a great story. Of course every faith has great stories. Of course having a great story, and being able to show it actually happened are two different things.

Who is "we"? Witches?

God does NOT indwell people who worship darkness, and things of the occult.

Good thing I don't worship darkness then.

Yes i am aware of the TOS. I am not promoting my faith, merely answering you, and trying to get the thread back on track, although not very successfully it seems.

I assume you mention the TOS as a veiled threat to ban me. Really though, if the only way you can win a debate is by getting rid of the other party, what does that say about your faith?

That's fine. No reason to personalize this!

Havoc,

If you don't mind me asking, what is your basic belief system? Do you identify with any one group or another?

Thanks.

What are you reconstructing?

No, I don't mind at all.

I am Celtic Reconstructionist Wiccan

Ok,

Now many of you may not know how diverse my spiritual resume actually is, but I breifly dabbled in Wiccanism, and I certainly tried the "invent your own spiritual path" approach.

The first thing I think should be said is that the assumption that Wicca is "of the devil" is, in my opinion, not a very fruitful discussion. Unless we are going to say that every other religion besides Christianity is of the devil (which I am not prepared to say), let us at least give Wicca some space to breathe.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think Wicca is a successful religion, but I think the discussion is blurred when we sling satanist accusations at its practicioners.

Havoc,

You indicated that you believe in God, from where did you recieve this belief, and, are you a monotheist?

It might not be fruitful to a "discussion", but Wicca is Satanic.

From my personal interaction with God.

and, are you a monotheist?

We believe there is One God, who exists in more than one "person". Much the same concept as your trinity, only more than 3.

Strictly speaking I am polytheist, pantheist, and animist

Wicca is not Satanic, and more than it is Christian, inasmuch as we do not believe in either your Christ, or your Satan.

The religion and beliefs of my ancestors, the Celts of pre-Christian Ireland

They are my ancestors too, but they were WRONG, and did not have truth, obviously.

Satan is a great deceiver and has even got you to believe he doesn't exist! Typical! He has done his job well in many.

yes we have already established that you believe that.

Or Satan doesn't exist at all, and you are the one who has been decieved. In the absence of objective evidence, one is just as likely as the other.

I'd like to follow through with "are you a monotheist"?
Another participant had posted an email from a witch also professing to be Wiccan that stated "I work with Angels and other gods and goddesses"
Unfortunately I see the email has since been deleted and only my quoted statement above remains.

anyway,
Do you agree with this?
