Yes,many are seen in some parlours now.You have to be very careful. That also goes for piercing.

Do you see similar codes of practice and regulation in parlors your way, maybe? I think the official view in many areas has developed to seeing the need for regulation.

Blessings.

state of florida health codes and all 50 are and any ordicance can be found from any town. village or city at municode. com

They might have to uphold the same health standards but they are much more risky....
when I had my ear pierced in a parlour it got infected. its not like they were much better then. it wasn't. If I recall that was jewelry/pawn and tattoo and piercing place. he did them all at the same place. he had it partitioned but still.

You pay more in a tattoo/piercing parlor, but far better to get earrings put in there, right?

Kind of, you get what you pay for...

Blessings.

a kiosk in the mall is held to the same health standards.

There is the theory and there is the practice. I guess it can sometimes be the choice between a teen in a kiosk, and an experienced adult in a tattoo/piercing parlor that has done long apprenticeship and has maybe years of piercing & tattooing behind him or her and really knows what s/he is doing.

Blessings.

Paul1965: What are your thoughts? wouldn't you prefer to be pierced in a parlor (earrings, etc.) rather than a kiosk?

Blessings.
Not pierced and no intention of being so.
But if i was, it would depend on the kiosk. You can't brand them all the same just as you cant rate all parlors the same. So many variables. If they had good hygiene and equipment, age doesn't really come into it, it's skill.
Its the same with artists that have been doing ink for years but are scrachers, you can have experience, but no skill just as you can have skill but no experience.

I'm sure there's truth to what you say. And sorry, I thought I had remembered that you had told me you wore earrings; but it must have been someone else...(otherwise I might not have asked!) Of course it's more tattoos that you know quite a bit about...

Blessings.

We're going to take a break from tattoos and body piercing for a while. How long is yet to be determined.
We understand there are those who have no problems with the practice but there are others who do and that topic has become quite overdone.
