"At our church, there are several with tatts, including several middle aged women"

Does it surprise you? "At our church, there are several middle aged women with tatts"

I guess, anyway, moving back to the general theme, a bit like Ms Kathi, I look at the matter pragmatically:

She said recently:

Sometimes when I see a Christian tattoo ... that will open up the conversation for me to say "I like your tattoo ...".

They are proven conversation starters, and it works with those who are non-Christians, too.

Blessings.

well we have argued this before, did god intend for our skin to be a bill board? I could groom my dog with jesus died for you.

Hi, there; I understand from what you said on the other thread that you are having problems with messages in conversation. Is there any comment you'd like to add to this thread? (I'm not implying anything for the purposes of this thread.) Some of the tattoo artwork out there is amazing, anyway. There's a true saying; you get what you pay for.

Blessings.

(PS: I seem to remember from a posted comment on a thread a while back that you were quite firmly in favor of tattoo equality for women, as well.)

It would be for sure because if I am going to put something permenant on it would be a big commitment and I guess something that important should be used for God's glory. I don't know exactly what it would be, maybe you could help me out. I am a former drug addict and have been looking and praying for a way to witness to show other addicts how the Lord set me free from it.

PS: jeff77: No need to be in a hurry to do it, at any rate.

Did you ever consider a Bible ref. or something like a Christian fish sign <><, etc.?

Blessings.

It's certainly not something to be undertaken lightly. It does require careful planning.

That being said, it's undeniable that it's what many Christians are strongly motivated to do. Some Christian families seems to have a clear motivation about what they want to do, at any rate. This is from Beth Smith:

Beth Smith said:
My two daughters, 18 and 17, want to get matching heart tattoos ..
We have even talked about all getting tattoos together. When my youngest turns 18, my oldest will be 19 and I will be 49. I would definitely have a cross with scripture. Here are a few of my favorite scriptures:
James 2:13
Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
Philippians 1:19
God bless,
Beth (from lauraleighparker dot com )

its not illegal in my state to wear pants like that. if its not going to cause lust and the parts aren't showing then its just another fad or clothing like a bikini or also speedos. playing devil advocates, however. so you do think one could for a teen/ young adult group that has trucks like this? with audio?

I do,

Jason, I don't want to derail the thread, but I have to ask mate are you serious? There's a law against baggy pants? Please tell me you are kidding.
While we make jokes about the "fashion police", I find it dumbfounding that a country which purports to be the defender of democracy will tell someone they cant wear baggy pants.
Now don't get me wrong on this, because yes it is a fashion I'm not fond of, especially with people who wear them halfway down their buttocks showing off their underwear (hopefully) and I'm also not a fan of people who wear their caps backwards or worse , at a 45 degree angle (I used to ask them if their mum dressed them or did they do it them selves)
BUT, i believe in each to his/ her own. What's next hair police, shoe police, underwear police?

Note: It sounds a bit like Oz where they are trying to ban groups of 3 or more patches meeting (3 members of one family have been jailed for having a beer in a pub together because two are Rebels MC members the third is NOT and never has been a member..crazy stuff) This extends to God's Squad MC a well recognized club of Christians who have been ministering to the outlaw clubs for over 25 years and work with many mainstream churches.

Hi Paul1965: So have you figured the probable placement for your next ink that you're planning to get eventually?

Blessings.

yes it was because it got to the point that in cocoa beach and other areas they might as well not have paints on. that is what i see and they were trying to deal with. frankly i agree with it. but the state courts killed it. what if women started just wearing bras and we could see parts in their undies? is that a fashion we need to allow? that was the problem.

Up here a court ruled that women can go topless, if they wish (not a good idea!) I guess tattoos are tame in comparison...

Blessings.

i remember that stupid law. then those same women would get mad at all the male attention too. seen that . if you don't want unwanted attention then don't show it!

I guess my point is that, when compared with all the startling talk about toplessness laws and so forth, a discrete and tasteful little tattoo is probably rather low key in comparison.

Blessings.
