Baptism of the Holy Spirit, is not at salvation

Well, I guess here's my take on this issue. When a person becomes a Christian/Born Again he/she is born of the Spirit. This is n o t the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told his followers, who were already Christians, to wait upon the power from upon high. This happened and they were baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. The Bible is very clear about this issue and it really surprises me that people are confused about it. It's still for today because Jesus said He's the same yesterday, today and forever. I was baptized with the Holy Spirit before I was baptized in water.
awww another book of acts plan of salvation in other words you spoke in tongues which is a gift
For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. baptized the moment saved
where does that say speaking in tongues ???????

Yes it is. Made very clear in Acts 11-
15 “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.
16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized withwater, but you will be baptized withthe Holy Spirit.’
17So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”

I Corinthians 15:45 KJV
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Revelation 3:20 kjv
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To have the spirit of Christ Jesus in us makes us a spiritual person.

Being Baptised in the Holy Spirit, brings other issues of service.

hello eddif, dirtfarmer here

Is there a difference between "the spirit of Christ" and "the Holy Spirit"? If there is, would you mind explaining the difference?

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. the spirit indwells us when we get saved
What bible version is this that you quoted?

Hi and welcome Brother Paoli S. in Jesus' name. Your testimony follows the very pattern of:
Act 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Act 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.
Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2
Amen and Thank You!

Be careful about certain bible translations.
I saw a Bible calling Mary a "good woman".
The original word says: A virgin.
There are many more examples about scriptures being changed in certain translations.

Wise words. Just one example. There are more versions that remove themselves from being the actual word of our Father.

Tongues:

Acts 2:4
Acts 10:46
1 Cor. 13:1
1 Cor. 14:22
1 Cor. 14:39

I do realize that some people think tongues are not for today.
But again: Jesus did not change.
And it was his command 2000 years ago and also for today.

Why Mr.Parker would you ask that?
Cornelius was the centurion to whom, along with his household and friends, Peter preached the Gospel and, before Peter finished speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all the hearers. They were all baptized AFTER they were filled with the Spirit.
Act 10:47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

Yes, they received the Holy Spirit at salvation. The question was after that can anyone forbid these Roman's from water Baptism, which in Jewish tradition of water purification ritual was like unto a Mikvah.

The baptism to which Peter referred is the baptism commanded by Jesus at mat 28:19 not a Jewish purification.
Mar 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved;

Let's be clear and differentiate between WATER baptism and Holy Spirit baptism. They are not the same.

And Acts 11:15-17 makes clear that at the moment they were saved (through faith) they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which was before they were water baptised.

Act 10:47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
Yes, this is just as clear. They had already received the Holy Spirit, and now would be water baptised.

Do you see any distinction between being baptized with water and being baptized with the Holy Spirit?

John the baptizer sure did. Acts 11:16.

Colossians 1:27 KJV
To whom God would make known what isthe riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Acts 1:8 KJV
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

One is to reveal hope of glory.
Two is to give power to witness.

Let us start here.
