Now, can you see the greed in other areas of Judas? Greed isn't always about money, no, greed is always about seeking our own needs and not trusting God for our needs. It's about what we want, not what God wants.

Jeff

Yes Jeff, seeking His face always is our life long battle. We just have to do our best and He will help us for His purpose.

Thanks Jeff. :D

Good Morning Hinomi (I hope I spelled that right). Know that I am enjoying our conversation. Thank you.

I think you've hit upon something here don't you think? I mean, your statment implies heavily that we have to actively seek Jesus right? I mean, it's up to us to do our best in that area right?

I mean, look at Judas, I'm sure he was doing his best, but he was doing his best for himself right? He wasn't seeking God's council right?

As with the case when Peter was rebuked by Jesus, Peter was seeking his own needs, and not the desires of God wouldn't you agree?

I think one important factor is how we respond to not only Christ, but the people around us. Again, if we look at how Peter responded when Christ convicted him, he fell and wept in repentance. On the other hand, Judas committed suicide. So maybe, it's not only how we seek, but how we respond as well??

I hope you day is going well.

In Christ,
Jeff

You are right, Jeff. My comment was incomplete. Yes, we have to do our best to seek Him.

Thank you

Hello Hinomi :D

I wouldn't say that your statment was incomplete. That sounds too err, how would you say that? Authoratiative? I don't know. You are a sister in Christ and I have enjoyed being edified by your feedback. I see no harm in two people that hold Christ as a center for their lives encouraging one another to further understand scripture. For me, it has been edifying. Thank you for the fantastic thread. :D

So tell me, if were not doing our best to seek him, then what would we call that if we were to put a label on it?

Also, if we go introvert when Christ convicts us (such as Judas did), what could we label that as?

As always, you have brought joy to my morning. May God grant you peace threw out the day.

What is your point Jeff? I cannot read your mind and I dont understand your question. Would you elaborate please?

Hi Hinomi,

I don't really have a point. I'm just enjoying the plesant conversation :D

What I'd like to talk about, if you will allow me the priveledge, is if were not always seeking Christ (and none of us do 100% of the time), if were not actively trying to do God's will, what would we call that if we were to give it a name?

If we follow that path and line of thinking, you know, where we stop reaching for God's will but instead we are motivated by our own desires, and in doing so, we honestly reject God's word and justify our choices by our own standards, could we then be considered a coward for not being able to face our inner most being that has a hard shell of pride surrounding it?

I'm just bouncing stuff out there to think about. I'm not trying to put you down, please don't think that I am. I'm a thinker and I simply like to think about how God moves in our lives.

Peace be with you this wonderful day that God has given us.

In Christ,
jeff

God is a jealous God.

And so are wives.

to be over jealous for something other than Godly intent is selfish.

cowardly behavior is not seen untill after the fact. Do you think Judas knew what he was doing while he was being so selfish? Did he stop and think what would happen if he betrayed Jesus? Did he stop and think that he would be so downtrodden to the point of suicide?

Selfish behaviors are not seen until after the fact.

no man can escape the jealousy of God.

And neither can a man escape the jeoulosy of a godly woman, that woman called wife, mother of all your children.

So Relic,

Are you trying to say that I am making advances with Hitomi?

Matter of fact, I went home and spoke to my wonderful wife, whom I love more than I can express and am deeply devoted to and would not for a moment consider betraying her, about the conversation that Hitomi and I had yesterday.

Yes, women can become jelouse, what you say is true. So, am I to not speak the gospel to women? Or am I to by a typical male and force my opinion on the weaker species?

God is a jelouse God, but he also judges us by our heart. Let it be known Relic, that I am a devoted man soley to my wife. I would not betray her. If I were to offend her in the manner in which I am speaking to Hitomi, then may God give her the inner security to know that my intent is to speak about Jesus.

Peace be with you..

In Christ,
Jeff

The bread was buttered so thick in here, I just had to pass the jam.
Cold water anyone?

anyway, Jeff, you missed the jist of my post.

Now, please do read the parts about Judas and get it how he did not escape the jealousy of God.

I am enjoying this conversation so much. I look forward to being bread and butter nice to you too. But please Jeff, not to thick on the butter. It gives me indigestion.

Much peace to you.

Relic,

After the fact? What fact would that be? The fact that one day we will realize our cowardlyness? For some, such as Peter, it may be soon after we are convicted, for others, such as Judas, it may be on the day of Judgment. For what is cowardlyness but the mere fact that we cannot look at our inner being with honest eyes?

Do I think Judas knew what he was doing while he was being so selfish? I think he knew exactly what he was doing, but I also believe that he failed to see what he could have done.

Did he stop and think what would happen if he betrayed Jesus?
I don't think he knew he was betraying Jesus. Do you believe I am betraying my wife for speaking kindly to another woman? If so, then how do you suggest I speak to Hitomi? Like everyone else in argumentive form? yeah, that works... and we have so many biblical examples to follow in that raelm...

Did he stop and think that he would be so downtrodden to the point of suicide?

He didn't think, he reacted and was consumed by regret. If you look at the original greek word that the KJV uses and translates into repent, Strongs 3338. metamellomai
it is actually translated wrongly for the word truly means regret. When we regret, we become consumed by our own self inflicted greif.

I think that there is a very valuable lesson to be learned here.

You are free to feel however you choose to feel. I am very sorry if it gives you indigestion. Perhaps you should omit the first half of each chapter and the last chapter of anything that Paul writes? I certainly wouldn't want you to become destraught over uplifting words.

1 Corinthians 1:2-7 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing you are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1 Corinthians 16:23-24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

hmmm....

Mabye God's grace is at work? Sombody sent me a PM just before the site went down and it was lost in electronic land. As a result, I did not get a chance to read it but suspect that it was response from this thread??

I don't know if that's assesment is correct. We should not decieve each other. We should not pretend it is ok when things are not ok. Denial is not going to get us anywhere. It is satan's trcik to make you feel better when the reality is not.

I see, so we should approach each other with our bibles and opinions and hit each other over the head. Yes, that works great and really drives the point home.

Heaven forbid we actually practice the love for our neighbors and enemies... as it is soo much more gratifiying for us to slam each other and protect ourselves from the evils of each others aberated thinking.

Tell me Hitomi, have I belittled you at all in this thread?

StoveBolts said:

No but we were not getting anywhere, we were just chit chatting without any point.

I am glad to Stove,

Rev 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolators and all liars - their place will be in the fierly lake of burning sulfure. This is the second death."

We should be able to read between the lines. We should speak up when it is time to speak up for the truth.

Interesting is that cowardly is in first one He is listing up.

So you have learned nothing in this thread? Has discussing Holy Scripture become meer chit chat?

Shame on you. (I bit, are you satisfied?)
