Born Again Of The Holy Spirit

Says who?

The water is a type of the Spirit.

Seed is the word of God.

Jesus is the Word of God.

Again there is no reference or indication of any parabolic reference in the passage I quoted.

IOW there is nothing in the context to indicate John was speaking symbolically.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. (Literal)

And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (Literal)

Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (Literal)

This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood.

(Jesus Christ came into this world by both water from the womb as well as blood from His virgin mothers hymen, literally.)

And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (Literal)

JLB

John doesn't say anything about the virgin birth in his gospel. So why should he bring up the virgin birth in his letter?

Why shouldn’t he mention it in his letter?

If a woman’s hymen broke along with her water, as she was giving birth, wouldn’t that prove she was a virgin?

I don't know what you are hearing as I never said I haven't gained victory through Christ over the sting of death or the victory of the grave.

Are these not the words that you wrote?

Those who have been Spiritually born again/renewed of their spirit by that of the Holy Spirit are waiting for the events written in 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 and

You clearly stated that you were waiting for the events written in and including 1Cor 15:54. By your own words you stated that you are still waiting for your corruption to put on incorruption, and for your mortality to put on immortality. Only after you have put on incorruption, can you say death is swallowed up in victory. But you said you are still waiting?

Until the Groom comes for His bride we will always have an adversary that wants to destroy our faith so I will keep my armour on until it's time for the marriage.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Some hold fast to the schoolmaster and never leave the first principles behind. The virgins were all bid to come forth to the marriage; The wise virgins awake and trim their lamps and by faith enter into the chambers where they receive a new garment. The foolish virgins run to and fro in their battle armor searching for the word of God, but they shall not find it! Wait as they will and the day shall come when they find the door has been shut.

Matt 25:10-11
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Matt 22:2-5
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

Matt 22:11-14
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.

Know you not that a helmet, shield, breastplate and sword are garments fitted for battle, but they do not make the attire of a wedding garment?

Rev 3:18-19
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

But you said you are still waiting?

We are all awaiting that Day when He returns to gather us together at the resurrection.

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
1 Corinthians 15:52-54

To be physically resurrected from the dead, our physical bodies must first die.

Yes, I am still waiting, but in the mean time I must remain walking in the Spirit and not live by the flesh.

Has Christ returned yet? Have we been made incorruptible yet or immortal? No, so we still have that struggle between the carnal and the physical as the carnal is enmity (hostile enemy) against the Spirit. It's only when Christ returns that God will swallow up death in victory and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it, Isaiah 25:8; Rev 21:1-7.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The foolish virgins run to and fro in their battle armor

Where does it say in the scriptures these foolish virgins entire was battle armour? These foolish virgins were only unprepared as they had not the indweling of the Holy Spirit which is what is meant by having no oil for their lamps as they knew not the light of Christ.

He doesn't. So. He is not trying to prove the virgin birth.

The RSV says, "This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the witness, because the Spirit is the truth." 1John 5:6-7 RSV

He came by water and blood. This part of the sentence alone doesn't tell us what he means by water and blood. But the rest of the sentence is, "He came with the water and the blood."

He came with something.

He came with the water, the word of the kingdom. You could say he came with the words of God. You could say he came with the teachings of God. You could say he came with the commandments of God. He was the Teacher, the fountain of our salvation. He came with the words of God. He came with living water. He came with the blood of the new covenant. All of these things are associated with Jesus Christ, the words and the blood and the Spirit.

He is not trying to prove the virgin birth, he is testifying to it with the witnesses of the water and the blood.

The Holy Spirit also bearing witness.

I have shown what I see in this verse to corroborate that Born of water in John 3:5 is a reference to natural birth.

These all say the same thing.

Jesus Christ came into this world by both water and blood.

He came out of His mother’s womb with water and blood; the blood of her hymen because she was a virgin when she gave birth to Christ.

I ask you again -

Did Jesus come out of His mother’s womb and into this world by breaking His virgin mother’s water sack as well as her hymen?

Yes, I am still waiting, but in the mean time I must remain walking in the Spirit and not live by the flesh.

If you are waiting for your physical death as JLB suggests, then are you not yet carnal? And if you are carnal, then....

Has Christ returned yet? Have we been made incorruptible yet or immortal?

He who has ears to hear should hear what the Spirit saith.

1 Corinthians 15:53
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

It has nothing to do with being "made" incorruptible, or being "made" immortal. It is about putting on a new garment. But you continue to reject the notion, so carry along as you will, and while you wait adorned in your armor, perhaps you might take the time to actually read the passage for what it says.

What does it mean to PUT ON???? Perhaps you could give us all the Strong's definition for the Greek word used in this context.

But I show you a mystery. I show you a wedding garment; But some prefer battle armor. Yet it is written that he who lives by the sword, shall die by the sword.

Hosea 2:19-20
And I will betroth thee unto me for ever;
yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment,
and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness:
and thou shalt know the Lord.

How can one "hear" the word of God when they are always sitting in judgement of the word of God? :confused

What were they wearing then?

Ephesians 3:14-19
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Col 1:25-29
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Ephesians 5:31-32
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

If you keep waiting until your physical body dies, then how should the two become one flesh? A new garment? A marriage? Raised in the Spirit, as one!

John doesn't even mention Mary or her womb. And it's not her blood. It's his blood. Jesus came with the blood. Unless you think Mary's blood paid for our sins.

Fact is we don't know anything about Mary's blood.

Did Jesus come with Mary's blood or did he come with his blood, his blood of the covenant? Did Jesus come from below or did he come from above?

Is John talking about coming from the womb or is he talking about coming from heaven?

You see from what I wrote, what I believe.

Jesus came into this world by both water and blood.

A clear reference to the virgin birth.

JLB

Did Jesus come with Mary's blood or did he come with his blood,

Jesus came into the world, He became flesh, by water and blood; not by water only, but by water and blood.

John in both John 3:4-7 and 1 John 5:6 is referring to being born.

Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ John 3:4-7

The subject matter is being born.

Born of flesh.
Born of the Spirit.

We first must be born to be born again.

Please answer my question -

Did Jesus come out of His mother’s womb and into this world by breaking His virgin mother’s water sack as well as her hymen?

If you are waiting for your physical death as JLB suggests, then are you not yet carnal? And if you are carnal, then....

Born again Christian’s are all human beings who are born of God spiritually, and have His Spirit, but still have a natural body.

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies.
1 Corinthians 15:35-36
