Charismatics ARE Cessationists

i don't know what you claim as a 'charismatic'....so i don't know whether to lump you in with the heretics or not.

what do you believe...and 'do'?

what church do you affliliate with?

church of god andersonville, In

they do teach much on typical of charisimatic things but they dont to my knowlege teach word of faith or other out there things.

the gifts are for today and so forth, but its in balence.

its not good to assume all of the gifts are bad and thus all of charismatics are bad because of few rotten apples.

ah that side of the house. christian and missionary alliance and one other group teaching healing promises.

yes i do. but not that often.

No, I don't know those either. More along the lines of assembly of God healing beliefs, do you know about those?

When hearing the banner ( your faith will heal you O you wernt healed? o ye of little faith) those kinds of statements

Some folks come to mind... Pat Boone"s grandson .... Joni, the young girl who's neck was broken and the testimony she has is out standing.

The about 90 year old lady in the church ,years ago, who on her one leg went to rest home to tell the girls there to GET UP.

Some times we can forget God does not always answere yes!

But He does. Sometimes we bear consequences in our bodies, so we reap what we sow. Sickness is something God never authors, and He promises to heal us of all our diseases.

If we think He is saying NO, then we are being impatient, and notrelying on faith.

yeah, of unbelief.

here's what i believe:

1 Corinthians 15
1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Galatians 1
1Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead) 2And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

3Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Colossians 3:3
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Ephesians 3
1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 6:40
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

and so on.....much much more.

my FAITH is a gift from God.
granted by Grace while i was yet dead in sins and trespasses.

my faith and belief are in Jesus the Christ, My Lord and my God, I AM.

i have no need to believe in charismatic chaos.

paul bore the marks of the cross and wasnt healed as he had been stoned and other things

Who says? Scars do not mean anything but healing.

i'm sure he was left with some scars and what was that thorn in the flesh that he prayed for thrice to be removed and God said my grace is sufficent

Where? Do you believe Paul's thorn was sickness? That would be a good idea for a thread.

:thumbsup Well said.

We don't need proof God exists, He has already given us Faith.

is this the one?

The Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) is a holiness Christian body with roots in Wesleyan pietism and also in the restorationist traditions.[1] Founded in 1881 by Daniel Sidney Warner, the church claims 1,170,143 adherents. While having some characteristics of a denomination, the Church of God considers itself non-denominational.

One of its more distinctive features is that there is no formal membership, since the movement believes that true biblical salvation, which will result in a life free from sin, makes one a member. Similarly, there is no formal creed other than the Bible. Accordingly, there is much official room for diversity and theological dialog, even though the movement's culture is strongly rooted in Wesleyan holiness theology.

This church movement is not historically related to other Church of God bodies such as the Church of God (Cleveland) or Church of God (Charleston, Tennessee). Though these bodies are also holiness Christian in outlook, the Church of God (Anderson) does not share their Pentecostal practices. It is distinguished from these other churches by the location of its headquarters in Anderson, Indiana.

the gifts are for today and so forth, but its in balence.

charismatics SAY the gifts are for today.

mainline and historic christianity has NEVER said that. orthodoxy has always held that the Acts of the Apostles were just that ( a special era: the BIRTH OF THE CHURCH), and not normative for today.

Where? Do you believe Paul's thorn was sickness? That would be a good idea for a thread.

certain scar tissues arent healing in nature but rather attempts to heal.

when a chiropractor adjust our backs that cracking noise is the scarr tissue being ripped apart as that vertabra moves.

The Law required two or three witnesses ,got any?

I have friends who have overcome cancer, alcholism, avoided collision injuries etc too.

Is that 'Hitch's Law'?

Overcoming is great. Healing by God is greater.

But He does. Sometimes we bear consequences in our bodies, so we reap what we sow. Sickness is something God never authors, and He promises to heal us of all our diseases.

If we think He is saying NO, then we are being impatient, and notrelying on faith.

apparently your 'church' doesn't believe in sickness, disease and death as a result of SIN, specifically the FALL. do you believe in ORIGINAL SIN?

I INSIST YOU DOCUMENT THIS CLAIM IN SCRIPTURE.
if you do not, i will report you to the administration as a deliberate and peristent false teacher.

He promises to heal us of all our diseases.

We have moved on in this thread, but I must go back and discuss the person who had cancer and God healed, because I was just convicted of this, as I did not mean to be dishonest, but it turned out that leaving this out, someone might say I was dishonest, and I want to be honest about this.

The person who was healed, did go to a doctor, and was in treatment, however early on in their treatment, as the treatment was to last one year, and anyway, early on, they did another MRI, and the cancer was gone, all gone, and the doctor's exclaimed they could not explain the disappearance of this tumor. So we knew this person was healed.

I am sorry for this misleading, as I was posting, I was getting really stressed out because everyone was arguing with me. So I apologize for leaving that out BUT God did heal this person.
God bless -

please say what the reasons for illness are.
please prove by email, video, testimony, medical records ANYTHING: where a man born without sight was made to see, a lame for 30 some years picked up his mat and walked instantly AND leaped for joy.....ppl received healing by holding your hanky...ANYTHING.
PROVE IT. wouldn't you wish to, if you were so certain it was the work of God?

WE WANT TO SEE.

1. Effect from living in a fallen world.
2. Satanic attack
3. result of sin, reaping a consequence

I will not parade names of those who have received beautiful acts of God for you to mock. It is THEIR testimony.

You do not need proof. You need to get into the word and believe God.
