Christians? Using self-defense and Guns?

Thanks brother.

If God was pacifist, there'd be no hope. Evil would win.

In his flesh Jesus is humble. Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart

Only God can take vengeance in the hereafter. That is where the wheat and tares are divided. And evil is divided from us

Here's something Jesus said:

Matthew 5
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Heaven and earth have not passed away yet, so it's safe to assume there are things that have yet to be fulfilled.

Here's one of those little jots or tittles.

Exodus 22
2 If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed.

There's nothing wrong with advocating peace, but you need to understand something, the Word of God does not condemn self defense.
.

Thanks brother.

It's a good thing that we serve a God of War. It's all over scripture. He will destroy, He could call legions of Angels...and so forth. If God was pacifist, there'd be no hope. Evil would win.

God is Love and He loves all. It probably breaks His heart to have to kill people. But it's their choice, not His to do so. Violence in not a pretty thing, nor desirable as an activity, but it is necessary at times.
That point is ignored when attitudes rule common sense. When I served three tours in Vietnam, I was often scared to death, not terrified but just under that point. Every 18, 19 or lying 17 year old of mine that was lost as my LORDreminded me, every time, that one's mother is now a Gold Star Mother loaded with, streams of tears. Just as my LORD guarded over me, it was my duty to get those crazy young men home to see their mommas and in a unit where 3.5 men died every week it, often, require my .45 Cal. Grease Gun, both my .38 S&W and my .357 Python and I needed to be very good to get anyone home.

There are a few scriptures that, when isolated, can be used, incorrectly, to prove that men and women must just kneel down and allow evil to prevail. When scripture is read as it is written, in it's context, that case cannot be made. (Edited, ToS 2.4. Obadiah)

Add to that the lesson I learned in Germany and the Ear Ticklers are a deadly force for evil. What lesson? Oh, sorry 'bout that... NOT! To successfuly sell a lie to the general population one needs only include, more or less, 10% of the truth with it and the lie becomes truth to almost every man.

When we are saqve we are in service to or LORD, we are in the LORD's Army and the foreign issue here is, "There is no reason for fear, none at all." Though the natural man fears, we must learn to stop quenching the Spirit and allow ourselves the free usage by God of our bodies, after all, we cannot be killed.

Meaning, if the point of the Holy Spirit is to turn you into Christ.........the laws had their purpose until Christ fulfilled them in his flesh. "He" was able to conquer any law that was put there for fleshly reasons.

This has nothing to do with protecting our loved ones.

Nothing.
Matthew 5:44-46 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rains on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

Okay Guys. I want your opinions on this: Matthew 12:26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?

I see Jesus talking about how the world is now. Nobody is acting like Jesus and the cross. Everyone is the same and tensions are getting bad. Jesus came to save King David from himself.....if you don't see that......you don't see the need for Jesus's sacrifice. He didn't die, so that you can kill. He died so you can be Holy as he is Holy.
Mam,
You missing the point of Holiness. Men can never be three times Holy, that would make us like, unto, God. Our holiness is to be set apart from the World for the purposes of God.

You have already expressed one of the Ear Tickler's lie, you do not care about the past, in this case, the past events of the life of Jesus, the life before He was born a man. Logic, okay? When Jesus was born o Mary, His mission, on that day, was to submit to the death on the cross to unite all the saints, present, past and future, with the Father. Our mission, the last three verses of Matthew, is exactly the opposite. We must live for God.

If we live for God, the Father, we must know what Jesus, before He was flesh and blood did. For that input, we must study His actions in the Old Testament, the Bible He taught from.
