LoL ye i was only really mucking around cos I thought Tuscany was closer to Torina. But looking again its about the same, Milan even looks closer.
Baseball, I can't imagine Italian people embracing that one... LoL
Mucking around?
Surely you must mean Fooling Around!!
LOL
Torino and Milano are about equidistant.
However, it's faster to get to Milano because to go to Torino
you have to pass through Genova and the Autostrada goes thru many
tunnels and twists more and Genova is always crowded.
I'm sure you know that a main bridge that connected traffic fell
in Genova,,,53 dead. It's being rebuild now. The detour takes time.
Went to Monte Carlo with my daughter and one granddaughter (17)
and it took 6 hours!!!! It's usually about 3 1/2. We also were not smart enough
to take the best detour. Coming back home we did.
SINDONE. I had to google that one but I know it...
Is it legit? U tell me, u saw it. LoL but I seriously doubt it.
For those reading along...it's the Shroud of Turin.
Seeing it doesn't make much of a difference as to whether you believe
it's real or not. I have watched every program on it and it sure does seem
to be real.
The weirdest claimed relic id say would be "The Holy Prepuce"
It's fascinating but also gross.
Oh my gosh. I just looked that up.
Gross. It can't be true...WHO would have done that back then?
NO ONE.
People sure do think up strange stuff.
And what about St. Anthony's tongue?
If you're just dying to see that, you can.
LOL
It's in the Basilica di Sant'Antonio
in the city of Padova.
There were LINES to see it. We skipped it.
I hadn't had lunch yet.
ha ha. Who cares?
But the Basilica is worth the trip.
One of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen.
So Florence is the capital of Tuscany.
Renaissance art and architecture comes to mind
But u live in a small village right...
I don't like the city and would love to live near a small town with a small church...
It's a small town,,,about 6,000 pop.
I was born in a small village...right now the pop is about 400....used to be 1,200. Young kids
are moving out --- no work up there except for the marble quarries and it's not enough for
everyone. I'm close to a really nice town..check it out: Lucca.
It must be sweet but there would also be some things u miss...
What do u miss the most about the USA?
Oddly enough, what I miss most is people.
My son and his family
My two brothers and their families.
My friends that I've known almost all my life.
Things could be replaced...but I brought all
my stuff here in a container.
How about you?
