Could the world end in 12/21/2012?

Why would Christians worry if it were the end of the world. Satan is lord of the earth, so he'd be quite surprised I'm sure. POOF! "You're fired!" :toofunny

I have a friend who lives on the 2nd floor of an apartment complex. His unit and balcony faces the public square centered inside the property. On December 22nd he has already prepared a giant banner that he's going to tie to the outside of the railing that reads;

"WEEEE! It's December 22nd and WE'RE STILL HERE! NOW GET TO WORK!"

He's quirky like that.

But, it's Saturday. I don't like to work on Saturdays.

Could the world end in 12/12/2012 as it's predicted. I don't believe that because only God knows the time when the world will come into the end, but it's still interesting. What do you think about it?

Countdown!!

No one know when the end of the world is but God. If we repent and turn to Jesus with all our heart it doesn't matter when it is, we will be ready to go be with Him.

This world will not end for at least over 1,000 years.

Dear King James. I have no idea on your thoughts of dispensations, or ages but I'll just give you something to think on. The following translations use the term "End of the age" instead of "End of the world" other than the KJV suggestive at least to me it is not necessarily the very last thing to occur. Blessings in Christ Jesus.

End of the World, or end of the age.

Ephesians 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Strong's 165 - 3) period of time, age

KJV - Matthew 13:49 . . the end of the world

Darby - Matthew 13:39 . . the completion of the age

ESV - Mattthew 13:39 . . the end of the age

NAS95 - Matthew 13:39 . . end of the age

NIVUS - Matthew 13:39 . . the end of the age

NKJV - Matthew 13:39 . . end of the age

NRSV - Matthew 13:39 . . end of the age

YLT - Matthew 13:39 . . full end of the age

One of the major bible prophecies predicted for the Last Days generation is the rebirth of Israel as a nation. In fullfillment of bible prophecies for the end times, this occurred May 15, 1948 allows millions of Jews to return "home" from all nations in fullfillment of a major bible prophecy for the end times.

Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, this generation (Israel) will not pass away until all these things take place."

The bible states, "the length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away" (Psalm 90:10).

If we add 1948+70=2018 or 1948+80=2028...second coming of Jesus Christ could be before those years. But noboby really knows, not even Jesus...only the Father. We must be ready.

I perceive all this number adding as so much reckoning for this reason. We're not certain of a generation for the time prophesied, at least to my knowledge. Is the appropriation of land the true birth of the nation Israel? Will this have not more to do with a spiritual birth?

Isaiah 66:8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Who could be some of the children? Could they possibly be those 144,000 sealed of the twelve tribe in Revelation Chapter Seven? Next could she be the woman of Revelation 12:13, "And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child."

When does these events occur; are they not the events of Matthew Chapter Twenty-four, the very middle of the week? And then when you see these things we can be assured of Matthew 24:34, "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

My thoughts.

Beings i was in church even before i was born literally i am old enough to have heard the tales of Israel ... I dont remember 1948 i was only 2... I do remember Mon & Dad talking about Israel when i was about 9 that was 7 years after 1948 Rapture was sure to happen are YOU ready? oops! Well a generation is 40 years so many books sold yet no rapture in 1988. Now a generation is how many years? Dont get me wrong i dont doubt His returning i doubt OUR timing...

Isaiah 66:8 - It is as if the Holy Spirit was talking to the reader, wow! (Great Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon) I will study this more and meditate on this powerful chapter. Thank you for feeding my spirit it was hungry!

Isaiah 66:8 It is as if the Holy Spirit, anticipating the incredulity of the Reader, ask, "Who has heard such a thing?" The statement, "For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children," refers to the terrible horror of the latter half of the Great Tribulation, and especially the Battle of Armageddon, when it looks like Israel will be brought back to God. These birth pangs of Israel are referred to here and in the following [Dan.12-1; Zech 12:10-13:1; Mat. 24:8, 15-22; Rev. 12:1-6,14]

The children refers to the 144,00 Jews who will be saved during the first half of the Great Tribulation [Revelation 7:4-8]

The very date everyone seems so preoccupied with is itself an acknowledgement that Christ is King. The meaning of the year of our Lord 2012 derives significance within the context of the dating system used throughout the bible, where the passage of time is expressed according to the reign of the earthly monarch. In accepting this date you are confirming that Christ has been ruling for over two thousand years, and if you truly believe His kingdom has no end, then this world will certainly not fall prey to some diabolical design.

The bible is very clear that the earth will never end. What is done in heaven will be done on earth!

Blessings,

Grazer could you please post the scripture(s) from the bible that the earth will end.

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." -Matthew 24:14
