Did God create hell?

I feel that I need to post this reminder from our ToS.

2.2: No active promotion of other Faiths is allowed:

You will not post any messages; links, images or photos that promote a religion or belief other than Biblical and historical Christianity (atheism is considered a "belief" for the purposes of this rule). Discussing these doctrines are fine, as long as the beliefs are not actively promoted. This includes Universal Reconciliation, Universal Salvation, Serpent seed, Dual Seed or Two-Seedline doctrine which are only allowed in the 1 on 1 Debate Forum. This is a Christian Forum as the name suggests.

Grappler, instead of asking us the same question over and over and over, day after day, why don't you actually tell us what you believe in using scripture in regards to hell and judgement for the unrighteous.
Thought you would never ask...Okay urk since you asked i will tell you a short version of what i think is going to happen to the unrighteous dead...they will be resurrected unto the resurrection of judgment John 5:29. After this they will be cast into a lake of fire (hell) and according to their degree of wickedness they will suffer in proportion to that...and eventually they will cease to exist because after all only the those who believe in the Son shall be given eternal life...John 3:16. Here are a few other verses that support my stance that the unrighteous dead do not suffer in agony forever: Matt. 10:28, Matt. 7:13-14, 2 Thess. 1:9, Romans ch.9, Rev. 2:11, 20:6&14, 21:8,...check them out it may free your mind....the fear of eternal torment is a great mind-control technique.:)

I'm still not convinced because of 'their worm' that never dies in Mark 9:48 & Isaiah 66:24. What do they mean by the words 'their' and 'worm'?

You are hung up on this over the words 'their worm'??? I would think that it refers to maggots. The valley of Hinnom (gehenna in Greek) near Jerusalem was place where trash, debris, and dead bodies were thrown into and burned up...you know kind of like a garbage dump....full of maggots. Jesus used this analogy so that his followers would get a better idea of what would happen to the unrighteous dead...they will be thrown into a fiery trash dump. Or do you believe that maggots will also be granted eternal life along with the unrighteous dead??:)

Very good, you confirmed that worms refer to the unrighteous. Not eternal life, but they will be in eternal fire. Do you think worms refer to sinners? Also, notice that in Mark 9:48 & Isaiah 66:24 says the fire will never be quenched. Also, what do you think good means in John 5:29?

Good would refer to the righteous because they are given "life" you know as in eternal life. I noticed you haven't even touched on the verses that i posted that support the destruction of the unrighteous in hell...Why???:)

Because destruction and eternal fire are two different things. You don't believe in eternal fire thus you ignoring Mark 9:48 & Isaiah 66:24. How are you given eternal life, eternal life isn't granted to everyone on the street! How do you become righteous?

You are right i don't believe in eternal fire...i believe in Jesus. He has given me eternal life according to John 3:16 because if believe in him. If i didn't believe in him i would not be given eternal life...i would perish...this is the second death...the first death is death of the body the second death is death of the soul. Souls cast into the lake of fire at their judgment day will suffer the second death. I don't know how you equate the "second death" or "the destruction of the soul" or "perishing" as meaning the unsaved dead are alive for eternity but if that is what you like by all means continue to believe it...i am not trying to take away your freedom to believe that the unsaved will suffer in unbelieveable agony...i am just telling you that i don't and i have given you scripture to back up why i reject the idea that the unrighteous are also given eternal life. Also the whole idea of a loving merciful Creator torturing his disobedient creatures for ever and ever with no hope of ever satisfying His justice is irrational to say the least.:)

You don't become righteous by quoting scripture, anybody can do that. What action did you take in order to be saved? Romans 10:9 says we must believe and confess. What are we believing and confessing in? Denying eternal fire is denying scripture, and denying scripture is saying the Holy Spirit is false. That's blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. :shame

What are you talking about?? Blaspheming of the Holy Spirit??? We go from discussing eternal torture chambers and a loving God to blaspheming the H. S. I don't follow you....:backtotopic

Grappler, you deny eternal fire in Mark 9:48 & Isaiah 66:24. These scriptures are in the Bible. The Bible is literally God-breathed from the Holy Spirit, thus committing blasphemy. Again, what are you believing and confessing in, in Romans 10:9.

Urk go back and read everyone of my posts on this subject before you ask me anymore silly repetitive questions...please...my time is precious and i don't mind repeating myself once or even twice ...but with you i have to just continually repeat myself and you still don't seem to get it. We both just seem to be "spinning our wheels" i have stated my stance on this subject. You seem to be really curious about why i believe the way that i do because i keep telling you and you keep asking...I think you are beginning to see my point but just don't want to admit it. Maybe we should just take a break from this topic for awhile and move onto another thread...what do you think?:yes

Grappler, go back and read your own posts and see how you are repeating yourself by asking us why does a loving God torture people. You're the one that's repeating yourself. So you're saying it's ok to ask us the same question over and over, as long as what, it makes God look bad? Break? sure.

Yes, God created hell (prepared for the devil and his angels)

I believe only truly evil people suffer the torments of hell - whatever it is.

Only believers have eternal life.

The rest just die.

Either you're born again or you're a sinner that needs to repent. There is no in between. You don't just die and that's it, in hell their worm never dies and the fire is never quenched. Mark 9:48 & Isaiah 66:24 - What are you believing and confessing in, in Romans 10:9?

urk you just hit the nail on the head:thumbsup....it makes God look bad....to believe that He would torture lost souls forever.

Hey someone that actually understands John 3:16! Welcome to the discussion.:thumbsup

But Grappler, God is perfect and flawless in scripture and is the opposite of bad. God is good. It's not God making himself look bad, it's false prophets that commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that makes God look bad. God makes false prophets look like fools.

Why do you keep bringing up false prophets and blaspheming the Holy Spirit?? :backtotopic
