Why do people ignore what Jesus has already said?

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Jesus said no man has ever ascended up to heaven after they died.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

One resurrection on the last day, but two final judgements.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Unto to the end means either the end of our physical life here on earth before Christ returns and those who are still alive at His coming that have endured all trials and tribulations for the sake of Christ.

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Jesus says immediately after the tribulations of those days all will see Him coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory as at that time of His one and only return He will reveal and then destroy the beast and false prophet casting them into the lake of fire, 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12; Rev 19:11-21. Then He sends His angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather all who are His together, those asleep in the grave and those still alive at His coming, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, as we are then caught up to the clouds to meet Jesus in the air where we are kept until this old earth and heaven are renewed and the New Jerusalem ushered down, Rev 21.

This all happens on the last day as it is written.

Matt 24
33 So also, when you shall see all these things, you know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Truly I say to you,
this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Plainly in Matt 24, Jesus is NOT talking about OUR end of era scenario.

Plainly in Matt 24, Jesus is NOT talking about OUR end of era scenario.

The things Jesus was speaking of like the rise of antichrist/false prophets, the desolation of the Holy place that Daniel spoke of, and the darkening of the sun did not happen within the generation Jesus was speaking to so the words "this generation" has to have a different meaning.

Matthew 24:4-31 is future prophecy Jesus is giving the disciples as they sat on the Mount of Olives and asked Him when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

This generation that Jesus was speaking about are both the disciples in their day as they and all of that generation will experience many of these events of the prophecy Jesus gave them. And also those of future generations, especially those in the end of days when the events like that of the abomination of desolations that takes place in the Holy place Daniel prophecied of will take place before Jesus returns immediately after the tribulations of those days.

Then shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

None of this has happened yet, but like in the times of the disciples so is it with us that the time is at hand as no one knows the day or the hour of Christ return, but He did give us those events to look for before He returns so we will not be taken as a thief in the night, but be prepared as a Bride waiting to be united with her Groom.

It is every era's worst case scenerio from the time of the disciples asking these questions on the Mount of Olives to that of the last generation still alive before Christ returns to destroy the beast and false prophet casting them into the lake of fire.

Your disbelief in the NT word of Jesus is sadly noted.
