I still wonder about that. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. I don't know why people prefer to believe that the wages of sin is eternal torment.

As though believing God's truth is a matter of picking and choosing. If God says that there is a second death and a Lake of Fire, then God is the only one who knows for sure, and He has good reasons to reveal this to men. If there was no Hell, there would have been no need for the Cross. Did you consider that?

I don't think that believing God's truth is a matter of picking and choosing. Since God says there is a second death, why on earth do you not believe that there really IS a second death? A death where the wicked die permanently after having been resurrected from their first death for judgment. Do you really think that if there is no ECT in Hell there would be no need for the cross? That isn't correct. There is still a need for the cross. God's Word says whoever believes in Him shall not PERISH but will have ETERNAL LIFE. The purpose of the cross is that is where Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for sin that WE OWE. That penalty is death - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. I still don't know why people prefer to believe that the wages of sin is eternal torment instead of death as the Bible says. As you say, it is not a matter of picking and choosing. Either you believe God's truth or you don't. Have you considered that?

Oh? Where did Jesus say that there was to be eternal conscious torment in hell? Please be specific. Jesus said that the road is wide that leads to destruction. Do you know more that He knows?
