Hello!

Job 42:7 kjv
7. And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

We may not agree with what Job said. But it appears God may agree.

We may think Job’s friends have Job nailed with the truth, but it appears God thinks they are wrong.

Throughout Job the friends speak error and Job speaks what is right.

Then what did Job repent of?

Very strange analogy as the patient is passive and we are anything but passive. If a christian sits in a chair reading a magazine patiently for God to painlessly and effortlessly purify him, he’ll wait until death with no change whatsoever.
I will disagree as the point I was making is that we are renewed/purified by the blood of Christ. Just as dialysis cleans and renews the blood in the liver that is internal, so in sense the same thing as we are purified by the blood of Christ internally in our spirit. Both are a cleaning from within process.

1Cor 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1Cor 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

1John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Wrong. Absolutely wrong!! God himself told Job to be a man and talk to him. Abraham questioned God and it turned out quite well.

This is not about questioning. This about BLAMING. Everyone of us knows the difference between a question and blame.

Wrong!! Falsely Accusing God of evil is no more ok with God than it is with us.

Wrong!! Wrong!! Wrong!!

Ever hear the exchange between Abe and God before the rain of terror on S and G? Abe questioned God and it went very well.

The god you reject is not the God who is there.
Instead of telling others they are wrong it would be better to just say "I respectfully disagree" and then give your reason why as it makes for a better attitude of love between both parties.

Dorothy Mae God's command to Job telling him to question him, is to be understood as sarcasm or irony - since God proceeds to soundly refute the idea that man can ever prepare himself to question God.

You who do not know God at all are only fooling yourself if you think you can describe how God feels about man. And since you have decided to chalk it up to irony with no literary grounds for doing so, you need to know that you are rending yourself blind to the text itself.

Beware, you are doing this at times, rendering yourself blind to the text lest it challenge your position. But you are not alone. A whole lot of believers render themselves blind to texts they do not like. The tragedy is with time they understand less and less preferring their own personal already chosen outlook. "To him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away."

I cannot recall that Jesus told Peter, "I respectfully disagree" when Peter told him he would never go to the cross. We can disagree when we discuss if bananas taste good. We can respectfully disagree when we discuss whether spaghetti ought to be eat with a knife and fork or spoon and fork. But when an atheist accuses God of not wanting man to stand up and speak to Him, that is wrong. I do not "disagree" with untruths told. Love demands one tell the other the truth in such cases, not downgrade to a matter of personal opinion.

I think your saying that is pretty surprising since it is never that you "respectfully disagree" that God loves all men. You flat out say those who think God loves all people are wrong because you insist God only loves some. Practice what you preach.

The liver does not perform dialysis. It would be better to stay away from anatomical comparisons. You do not know what you are talking about.

I am always surprised by people using scripture to claim that they, therefore, are becoming a better person. Essentially, "because this scripture says we are becoming as good as Jesus is, then I am becoming as good as Jesus is too." All divorced from real life choices which will become painfully clear one day.

2 Cor 5:10

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Dear for_his_glory

I think I mixed you up with Bright. My apologies.

If you know the process of human body blood cleaning please share it with us. The spleen is involved for instance.

Pathways exist that do ultimately include the kidneys.

Just to say we are wrong can be somewhat true, but can you take us down the correct description.

The spleen for instance helps in removing malaria infected blood cells. Tell us about myeloid cells. I think we realize our ignorance in some matters. Fill in the gaps before we are dead.

I just explained my literary grounds. "since God proceeds to soundly refute the idea that man can ever prepare himself to question God."

Yes you are correct. I ought to fill in the gaps. My compliments to you for asking so nicely. I will give some thought to physiology that parallels Gods dealings with man.

Where did I ever say God only loves some people?

What I am talking about is respecting the views of others even if you disagree. Please go back and read the Terms of Service 1.1

ToS 1.1 Grant others the courtesy to be understood and acknowledge their views as best as one is capable, speak truth in love, Matthew 7:12; 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.

never said it did.

“Just as dialysis cleans and renews the blood in the liver”

That’s what you wrote.

The cleansing of sin, like taking a shower, requires action on our part. Automatic body functions do not reflect how God changes us. “You haven’t yet shed blood in the struggle with sin.” “Jesus said “take care” numerous times. He never said, “no worries, it’s automatic.”

I am a regretfully and thankfully a redneck. Bi-polar: flesh and mind.

Let’s go to Eden:
Adam and Eve had a more or less an automatic good life.
DNA transcriptase template good (all functions go).

Enter reverse transcriptase template from the serpent.
You will not die if you eat the fruit of the tree of good and evil.
Naked
Thrown out of the Garden
Pain in childbirth (general rule)
Sweat while working
Briars
etc

Their work began. Automatic kind of faded away. Murder, hatred, sin, eventually required works of the law as a schoolmaster.

Health can sort of be automatic.
Or
It may require:
A Special diet
Supplements
Genetic mapping
Medicine
Therapy

Reverse transcriptase template requires our input.

I probably should take credit the the for_his_glory statement. The liver does have automatic functions. You can supply information about dumping some things into the intestine or sending them to the spleen (if it does). I am the PaRDeS / parables nut that causes some problems. Parallels to body functions is a new area for many (including me). The concept is ok, but there are areas that symbolism can cause stress. for_his_ glory is an administrator. Administration is one of the ministry gifts. Talking about human body function has not been a lifetime thing for everyone. COVID has brought many into new discussions. If you can just look at us as a junior high biology class. Not yet working on a PHD.

If too many problems develop I will have to chill on this discussion. It is a passion driven by Romans 1:20
But
I am a cog on a wheel and not the wheel.
The purpose is to learn the nature of God, and not to show a huge ego. The spiritual gifts in automatic operation is the goal and not to teach A&P.

No they chose to do wrong so moral choices are not automatic obviously.

Dear brother, I am afraid I just have my feet too firmly on the ground. for this discussion. And to be cheeky, I just love truth too much to be open to metaphors that don’t match reality. I’ve found reality to be much more satisfying.

So I’ll leave you to your musings.

The OP was by an atheist that once was Baptist.

No need for me to go the standard route with them (although they have not been back). I share the physical world with them. Jesus talked one way with the multitude and another with his disciples.

Eve was led astray. The poster could have been led astray.

I fail to see the relevance of these comments.
