Hello;

According to the Lord's testimony as an expert witness in all matters pertaining to the afterlife; the majority of earth's accountable human beings haven't been making it to safety when they cross over to the other side.

†. Luke 13:22-24 . . And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, master, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

†. Mtt 7:13-14 . . Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

†. Mtt 22:14 . . For many are invited, but few are chosen.

Webster's defines "many" as: consisting of, or amounting to, a large but indefinite number; while "few" is defined as: consisting of, or amounting to, only a small number; viz : not many; i.e. some, but indeterminately small in number

According to Webster's then; few means a small percentage, and many means a large percentage; in other words : many = the majority. Bear with me while I flesh this out.

As of Mar 21, 2011 @ 08:12 pm New York time, there were approximately 311,024,970 people alive in the USA with a death rate of approximately one every 11 seconds; which amounts to an average of 7,854 American deaths of all ages during just one 24-hour civil day.

Allowing for say, 1/3rd of those 7,854 daily USA deaths to be minors, would leave 5,235 adult-age Americans crossing over to the other side every day.

Giving the "few" the benefit of the doubt by setting their maximum percentage at 49%, would indicate that 51% of those 5,235 equals 2,669 Americans transferring to perdition each day— roughly 111 souls per hour.

That's a very conservative estimate as the Lord didn't really specify exact percentages to represent the quantities of few and many. Just think; by the time CBS completes its half-hour evening news report, a bare-bones minimum of 55 Americans cross over to the Bible's hell.

Using the ratio of 2,669 condemned souls per 311,024,970 population : computing the number of condemned souls worldwide from a currently estimated population of 6,907,246,256 people, rounds out to something like 59,273 new arrivals in the Bible's Hell every 24 hours; in other words : 2,470 souls every sixty minutes on the clock.

Those numbers would fill the new 51,800 seat Yankee Stadium to capacity in roughly 20 hours and 58 minutes. In other words, if those 59,273 souls started filling the stadium at 6:00 am this morning; by 2:58 am tomorrow, the stadium would be full. Meanwhile, another 59,273 would be outside in line ready to take their place.

Christmas and New Year's are even worse. A study done of 26 years of death certificates shows that coronary fatalities are, on average, 11.9% higher on those days than any other days of the year; with non-heart deaths spiking to 12.2% higher; and believe me folks, the Bible's God makes no exceptions for those holidays; no, none at all. Souls never stop cascading into the dungeons of Hell in an endless stream like chocolate kisses flowing on a Hershey's conveyor belt.

You know, I find this interesting. Your correct. While most people think that the "majority" of humanity is 'saved', or will be, the opposite is true.

But I find your approach interesting. Not that it does not need to be stated, Jesus did it Himself.

I have taken the another approach to this before. And that is of the potential multiplication of discipleship.

If you take one follower of Christ, a true disciple, and put him with another 'new' believer and let him instruct this person 'day and night' for 3 years; you(Christ through you) could effectively produce(bear) another true disciple into the kingdom of God. On average, lets say the age of a believer is 20, again this is just average.

This believer could, in effect, potentially live to be at least 50. Again, potentially. Maybe even longer, or could be shorter. But this is 30 years, on average, of "ministry" time the average believer has. Some have longer, some shorter. But what this all deals with is averages, and dealing with them we can get a good estimation of the 'potential' for true growth in knowledge and saving power of Christ.

So, you have 30 years on average. And an average of three years per person. That means that the average amount that 1 believer would reach is 10 people. Does not sound like much huh?

But, what do we know of exponentials? Well, in the course of time, they increase at a dramatic rate. Lets think about it; 1 on 1 - 3years. At the end of 3 years you have 2 disciples now. Both of them now disciple 1 on 1 for 3 more years. At the end of 6 years you have 4 disciples. Now they disciple 1 on 1 for 3 more years. At the end of 9 years you have 8 disciples. They disciple 1 on 1 for 3 more years. At the end of 12 years you have 16 disciples. They disciple 1 on 1 for 3 more years. At the end of 15 years you have 32 disciples.

Follow this out; 18y = 64d. 21y = 128d. 24y = 256d. 27y = 512d. 30y = 1024d.

So in a thirty year period, your life invested in a one on one relationship solely devoted to discipling one person for three years winds up with 1024 disciples at the end of your life. Now, thats just with one person. Now think about the fact that it started with 12. Or, what if you are apart of a local fellowship that has 20 dedicated people. Just crunch some numbers in your head. It will blow your mind.

The fact of the matter, the point of all of this, is that we think 'too big' sometimes. And in our efforts to 'think big' we neglect the little things. Those little things have come into the 'church' and destroyed it from the inside out. Its very interesting when you contemplate these kinds of things. There may be a 'majority' going to hell, but it does not have to be that way. And even if it winds up that way, it does not mean we should throw our hands up and say that true discipleship is of no use. It is, even in the most minuscule amount.

What I have neglected to mention is that as we see referenced in the Bible, by the majority of people going the opposite way, is that while the exponential growth of the kingdom of God is possible, we see the negative effects of the exponential growth of the teaching of false lies. That is to say, all it takes is 1 guy teaching 1 guy false doctrine in order for it to grow the opposite way.

There were a number of 'checks' that were put into place by the apostles to counter this, but somewhere along the way they got thrown out by the majority. What we do not care to realize sometimes is that there are seriously only two paths. And there is a way to know for sure what path your on. And when you go looking for someone to teach you something about the ways of God, you might want to consider the path that the teacher is on. Because he is only going to teach you what he knows.

Hell's Population Clock Update (01)

.
2 days have elapsed since beginning the topic on Mar 21, 2011.

Using the original factor of 2,669 adult-age Americans transferring to perdition per each 24-hour civil day, suggests that 5,338 adult-age Americans have passed through the gates of Hades just since beginning the topic.

The world-wide total, based upon the original factor of 59,273 condemned souls per 24-hour civil day, suggests 118,546 total arrivals in perdition since beginning the topic . . . and the clock is still ticking.
______________ ______________ _______________ _______________

†. Mark 9:47-48 . . And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

The koiné Greek word for "worm" is skolex (sko'-lakes) which identifies grubs, maggots, and/or earth-worms, et al. Christ said the skolex are in a place called hell fire.

The koiné Greek word for "hell fire" is geena (gheh'-en-nah) which refers to a canyon valley (a.k.a. the valley of the son of Hinnom, Josh 15:8 et al) situated south of the old city walls of Jerusalem. In the Lord's day, the valley served as the ancient city's landfill, where fires were kept burning day and night doing the double duty of incinerating a constant waste stream of urban refuse and the corpses of dead animals and low income citizens.

Geena is spoken of twelve times in the New Testament— eleven by the Lord, and once by James. In all twelve instances; geena is associated with fire. Geena isn't synonymous with the hell of Luke 16:23; which is the koiné word haides (hah'-dace) a nondescript word for the afterlife that simply means unseen; viz : the netherworld.

To my knowledge, there are no skolex in haides; but there will be skolex in the reservoir of liquefied flame depicted at Rev 20:11-15 since the damned will be thrown in there physically whereas haides is a place of spirits only. Though the rich man, Lazarus, and Abraham of Luke 16:19-31 were all visible to each other; we in the land of the living would not be able to see them with our natural eyes; and we should be grateful because if we could see spirits, then we would see the horde of demons that accompany us, and observe us, every minute of every day. We would also be able to see the horde of demons accompanying others.

Not long ago a movie was in the theaters called "Paranormal Activity". One of the more creepy scenes in that movie was of this guy's possessed female companion getting up in the middle of the night, coming over to his side of the bed, and just standing there motionless watching him sleep for hours at a time. Think about that the next time you're alone in the dark; because nobody is ever really alone.

The skolex, of course, are implied to feed upon the inhabitants of geena just as normal worms in life thrive on an open corpse. A worm that thrives in liquefied flame is pretty amazing, but not totally unreasonable. The 4-inch Pompeii worm lives in sea water temperatures of 176º F— hot enough to kill salmonella and sanitize an egg. So I guess if God could create a worm like the Pompeii, it shouldn't be too difficult for Him to create worms that like it even warmer.

Acts 12:21-23 records a Herod's death by skolex of the infectious parasitic type. The biblical record goes right to the bottom line without any details, but according to an article I read in a back issue of Biblical Archaeology Review, the Herod didn't die immediately as the narrative in Acts seems to suggest, but rather, suffered with the malady quite a while. The worms were located mostly in his private parts and were so painful at times that he couldn't walk and/or conduct state business. I leave it to your imagination as to where the skolex might infect geena's condemned women. Yes, I know: it's an ugly, ugly thought; but I cannot, in all good conscience, permit myself to soft-pedal the place about which the Lord spoke in Mark 9:43-48.

†. 2Cor 5:11 . . For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

So do you think that people should preach the gospel and 'scare' people into believing in Christ?

If Jesus did not need to speak about condemned women and private parts, why do you feel you need too? Something does not sit well with this.

.

YES.

†. 2Cor 5:11 . . Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

The koiné Greek word for "terror" in that verse is phobos (fob'-os) which means (to be put in fear) : alarm or fright. There's more.

It was fear that motivated Noah to construct an ark to save not only himself, but also his family.

†. Heb 11:7 . . By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house.

The koiné Greek word for "fear" in Noah's case is eulabeomai (yoo-lab-eh'-om-ahee) which means; among other things; to be apprehensive; which Webster's defines as : viewing the future with anxiety or alarm.

The bible actually mandates saving certain kinds of personalities by the applicaion of fear.

†. Jude 22-23 . . And of some have compassion, making a difference : and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire.

The Lord put the fear of God in his followers.

†. Luke 12:4-5 . .And I say unto you my friends; Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear : fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into Hell; yea, I say unto you, fear Him.

I think if you would allow me to use a few things from everyday life where fear has a positive effect, and always leads one to be wise; you might better understand why it is wise to be afraid of the Bible's God, and how that fear will lead one's self to safety.

Are you a parent? When my boy was growing up, I used fear to wise him up to the facts of life. Fear of rattlesnakes will save you from dying by snake bite. Fear of electrocution will keep you from playing with bare wires. Fear of liver failure will prevent you from eating wild toad stools. Fear of drowning will make you wear a flotation device when out boating. Fear of poverty will motivate you to learn a marketable skill. Fear of death and injury will make you look both ways when crossing the street. Fear of burns will make you keep your hands off a hot stove. Fear of prison will make you obey the law and select your companions with care so you don't go down with them when they commit crimes. Fear of losing your best friend will make you treat them with respect and courtesy. And fear of retribution will make you sit up and pay attention to the purpose behind Christ's crucifixion. So you see, fear is not always a bad thing.

I didn't expose my boy to all those fears because I was mean. No. On the contrary it was because I worried for my boy's safety and didn't want to see him hurt.

If Jesus did not need to speak about condemned women and private parts, why do you feel you need too?
I also spoke about condemned men's private parts. Why didn't you complain about that? Why is it you only complained about condemned women and not the condemned men? Do you have a problem with gender bias?

For your information; condemned women are not a protected species. There are just as many, if not more women suffering in pain and anguish in Hell as men; and when the time comes; they will be summarily incarcerated in the reservoir of liquefied flame depicted in Rev 20:11-15, and the skolex will be right there waiting on them.

†. Isa 66:23-24 . . All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month. And as they go out, they will see the corpses of those who have rebelled against me. For the worms that devour them will never die, and the fire that burns them will never go out. All who pass by will view them with utter horror.

What a ghastly scene! It depicts the damned infested with skolex and open to the public like the San Diego Zoo; except that the flaming specimens on display are human remains rather than cute giraffes, and turtles, and elephants, and monkeys.

†. Prv 22:3 . . A prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

No, no problem. I just did not include them also. I just thought it was a pretty simple question that if Jesus did not talk about it why would we? He had plenty to talk about and warn about, but yet we never find Him using this in-depth descriptive language. I am just curious if He was able to draw men to Himself without telling them about women/men being eaten alive in their private parts, why do we think we need to?

So you think that there are more women? "if not more" you say, so is there a theory behind this?

.
Do you not see a difference between fear and respect?
I'm pretty sure I can easily guarantee that if the people in Hell had no respect for fire before they arrived; they sure do now.

How do you know the Lord didn't talk about Hell the way I do? Do you have access to a secret transcript of every word he ever spoke in 33 years? Yours is what's known as an argument from silence; which is a kind of logic that concludes that if something wasn't written down, then it never happened.

So you think that there are more women? "if not more" you say
That is not what I said. I said "just as many if not more"

so is there a theory behind this?
The Bible's God is fair across the board with everybody irrespective of gender. You women out there in cyberspace need to keep that in mind. When you meet up with the Lord, he is not going to be impressed with the silkiness of your thighs nor the size of your bosoms. This is one cop you are not going to buy off with a short skirt, a low neckline, and a wanton look.

†. Rom 2:9-11. .There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil : For God does not show favoritism.

†. Rev 20:15 . . And whosoever's name was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I've been reading this thread...with a certain amount of, I don't know a troubled spirit perhaps, and I've tried to put my finger on what it is about your discourse here that is bothersome to me...

I think what it is is that you almost seem to take a salacious...not delight...but perhaps appetite in describing hell...

Don't get me wrong, I think that it's important that we tell the truth about hell, that it is a real place, that it is eternal, that those who stand condemned face eternity there. But, there's telling and then there's

.... "Souls never stop cascading into the dungeons of Hell in an endless stream like chocolate kisses flowing on a Hershey's conveyor belt."...."The worms were located mostly in his private parts and were so painful at times that he couldn't walk and/or conduct state business. The thing is...while Jesus warned of hell and the worm, He didn't find it necessary to go into graphic detail, almost as if slavering over it. He takes no delight in the death of the wicked.

Yea. Exactly. :yes While the Gospel does not exclude hell, it specifically states that it was prepared for Satan and the fallen angels. Its a real place, but there is a reason why there is no graphic detail about it. When we focus on hell, then that is what we will think about. Fear of hell is not going to perfect love in anyone. In fact;

1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

The simple fact is that your posting this in one of the strangest places. This is the "Bible Study" forum. There are not many people that come in here that are not seeking to be closer to God. Well, except for the ones that want a place to blog.

We are to fear God. That is it. Nothing else. When we fear death, hell, snakes, spiders, people, weather, or any other thing it is not healthy. God and God alone commands all fear and respect in Himself. Focus on Him and His Gospel - "The Good News".

I am sorry Weber, what you have been talking about is not "Good News". In fact it is the bad news that should be preached to the scornful and desperately wicked. Not to scare them, but to warn them. What you have presented is the 'negative' side of the Gospel. There is a reason why Christ was silent, and the rest of the NT is so silent. It is not a place to dwell on. Its real, but its not what we should be focused on.

Well, on the onset the thread seemed to motivate. How did it change to intimidate? Another wonder on the forum.

BTW Nathan - I appreciate your perspective and seeing the glass half full (post #2). Now that motivates!

Using the original factor of 2,669 adult-age Americans transferring to perdition per each 24-hour civil day, suggests that 10,676 adult-age Americans have passed through the gates of Hades just since beginning the topic.

The world-wide total, based upon the original factor of 59,273 condemned souls per 24-hour civil day, suggests 237,092 total arrivals in perdition since beginning the topic . . . and the clock is still ticking.

According to Christ's testimony as an expert witness in all matters pertaining to the afterlife, salvation is of his people; not Muhammad's.

†. John 4:22 . .Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Sadly, it's not only Muslims who are in jeopardy, but also Hindus; and between both those major world religions, we're talking about something like 2,263,180,500 souls. If each of those souls were one inch in length, they would stretch 35,719 miles; which is one whole turn around the earth and half more; and that's just counting the Muslims and Hindus who are alive today; not the ones who are dead or the ones to come in the future.

Christ also testified the below:

†. John 4:24 . . God is spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him . . in truth.

One of Webster's definitions of "truth" is : a state of being the case; viz : fact; which Webster's defines as : the quality of being actual. In other words; truth is the way it is; viz: truth is reality.

I was once informed by a rather imperious unbeliever that it doesn't matter which religion one belongs to since it's all the same God. What's wrong with that? Answer : Well, for starters; the Lord testified that the Bible's God wishes to be worshipped in truth; which means there is only one right way to worship God rather than a variety of ways; which is precisely why the followers of Muhammad's Allah, and the followers of the gods of Hinduism face a very grim future.

†. John 14:6 . . I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

That's the way it is : that's reality.

Some have proposed that Luke 13:22-24, Mtt 7:13-14, and Mtt 22:14 apply only to the Israel of the first century; but a close examination of the language and syntax easily shows that those passages apply to everybody regardless of race or gender.

Mtt 7:13-14 is embedded in the so-called Sermon On The Mount which begins at Mtt 5:1 and ends at Mtt 7:27 with these words:

†. Mtt 7:24-27 . . Therefore whoever who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But whoever who hears these words of mine and doesn't put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.

I think it's quite rational to conclude that the pronoun "whoever" includes not just Israel, but also Gentiles; viz: everybody on earth regardless of race or gender. (Women are not a protected species. There are just as many, if not more, women undergoing torment in perdition as men.)

Mtt 22:14 concludes the so-called parable of the wedding feast. The wedding was originally intended for Israel, but due to their disinterest, was opened to the Gentiles.

†. Mtt 22:8-10 . .Then he said to his servants: The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anybody you find. So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

However, though every Gentile is invited to the wedding; only a relatively small percentage will be permitted to attend.

†. Mtt 22:11-14 . . But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing clothing appropriate for a wedding. Friend; he asked, how did you get in here without wedding clothes? The man was speechless. Then the king told the attendants: Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are invited, but few are chosen.

Are the inmates in Hades up to date on current events? Of course. The world-wide total, based upon the original factor of 59,273 condemned souls per 24-hour civil day, suggests 592,730 total arrivals in perdition since beginning the topic . . . and the clock is still ticking.

If those 592,730 people were all an average of five feet, six inches tall, and laid head to toe, their bodies would stretch 617.43 miles, which is almost the crow-flies distance between Tijuana Mexico and Albuquerque New Mexico; and that's just ten day's worth of people. Thirty days worth would stretch 1,852.3 miles; which is the crow-flies distance between Rome Italy and Baghdad Iraq; with 21,120 people left over (22 miles)

a bit off topic ?
population ... according to the UN in 1970 was the planet's greatest problem.
a study at MIT ... a computer model of the planet ststed that the absolute maximum possible human population wax 3.1 billion

this was the highest possible number.

since then the official count has risen to 6.6 billion
and further unofficial counts put it as high as 8 billion

the official line being over twice the amount the resources can support
the unofficial being near triple

population grows exponentially
like polar shift

wide is the gate to destruction
few find life [survival]
this can be said to be true even in darwin's theory of specie selection

the way to survive is to live a safe healthy life
this is getting harder in an overpopulated urban world
polluted contaminated corrupted
gmo foods, chemical foods [artificial colors flavors], and a myriad of dangerous products consumed everyday by the consumer society are making survival much more difficult.

living a safe healthy life is much more than following the biblical laws
it required education in a wide scope of various fiels of knoweldge.

two gospel authors said
''''''' woe unto those with child '''''''''
china made large families illegal
then recanted ... unrang the bell.

one adam and one eve will create a population of 2.1 Billion in only 400 years
only 2 people on earth turns into 2.1 Billion after only 20 cycles of procreation, at 8 children per family [the size of noah's family]
2 x 8 = 16 ...... 8 male 8 female, ..... 8x8= 64 ... 32 x8 = Etc

population is said historically to be the reason for the fall of the worlds great civilizations

wide is the mouth of the dragon
for those who do not have forethought for the consequences of their actions

adam and eve [humans] were entrusted with the task of caring for the garden
[earth] though instructed to fill the earth, history tells us that moderation is key to maomtaining balance.
