Tom asked if salvation was works and grace as if Christians were no longer subjected to the penalty of sin...the laws of righteousness and sin...
"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only (Jas.2:24)." You haven't understood that Eph.2:8-9, what grace does and doesn't do, and what the blood of Jesus really does. Initial salvation is the pardoning of all past sins only. Eternal salvation comes by holding onto faith and walking obediently to the law (not the Mosaic Law only given to Israel). Sin is the transgression of the law and always brings back the spiritual death penalty (Gen.2:17; Ex.32:33; Eze.18:4, 20-24; Rom.6:23; 1 Cor.6:9-10; etc. Future sins were atoned for, not automatically forgiven (Rom.3:25; Heb.10:10-18; 1 Jn.2:1-2).
God is no respecter of persons in judgment. This is not an Old Testament fact only or a New Testament fact only; it is eternal.
2 Sam.14:14
14For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
2 Chr.19:7
7Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
Acts 10:34
34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Rom.2:11
11For there is no respect of persons with God.
Eph.6:9
9And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
Col.3:25
25But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
1 Pt.1:17
17And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
Rom.1:29-2:3
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
I'm just agreeing with the person quoted. As far as the subject... The Mosaic Law was only for the Jews and abolished when Christ died (Acts 15:1, 24; Rom.7:6; 10:4; 2 Cor.3:6-15; Gal.4:19-31; Eph.2:15; Col.2:14-17; Heb.7:12, 18-19; 8:6-13; 10:1-18). The day we worship is each individual's own choice. The Sabbath keeping was never re-established in the New Testament for any nation, tribe or race.
