Is baptism required for salvation?

If you believe scripture you would believe the teaching of the apostolic church which alone possesses the authority of Jesus Christ in union with Jesus Christ! matt 28:19-20 matt 16:18:19 Jn 20:21-23 acts 1:1-8

Christ is the light! (Truth)
Jn 8:12

The church he founded is also the light as an extension and command of Christ! Matt 5:14

Christ is the teacher!
Heb 1:1-3

The church He founded is also our teacher as an extension and command of Christ! Matt 18:17

Christ is the truth!
Jn 14:6

Must Hear Christ!
matt 3:17

Must hear the Church!
Matt 18:17 matt 28:19 acts 1:8

The church He founded is also the pillar of truth as an extension and command of Christ! 1 tim 3:15

I believe scripture

thats why I reject the teaching of the catholic church.

no
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not tobe ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

does not apply to you and me we are not a bishop!

Philippians 1:27
Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for thefaith of the gospel;

this we can do!
ok, you go ahead and place your eternity in the hands of men.

I will place mine in the hands of God.

all scripture is god breathed, its for all of us, not just bishops.

they all have a chance in my view.. I am sure we all would be represented by the first one at one time

Sorry I misunderstood you however. forgive me
That's alright, no big deal. I'm not as sure as you on the first type which was snatched away by the devil, though. It'd take a miracle to cast out the demons.

Baptism is for those who believe.

Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”
Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
Acts 8:36-37

Infants do not have the capacity to believe nor do they need to because they’re innocent. Not knowing good from evil.
for adults yes!

125. The justification of an adult is not possible without Faith.
174. Baptism is a true Sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ.
175. The materia remota of the Sacrament of Baptism is true and natural water.
176. Baptism confers the grace of justification.
177. Baptism effects the remission of all punishments of sin, both the eternal and the temporal.
178. Even if it be unworthily received, valid Baptism imprints on the soul of the recipient an
indelible spiritual mark, the Baptismal Character, and for this reason, the Sacrament cannot
be repeated.
179. Baptism by water (Baptismus fluminis) is, since the promulgation of the Gospel, necessary
for all men without exception, for salvation.
180. Baptism can be validly administered by anyone.
181. Baptism can be received by any person in the wayfaring state who is not already baptised.
182. The Baptism of young children is valid and licit.

the grace of baptism removes original sin and unites us to God
the grace of justification

Every person’s physical body contains sin that was inherited from Adam.

Baptism does not remove the sin that is contained in our mortal body.

I believe scripture

thats why I reject the teaching of the catholic church.
It does not have to be in scripture to be truth!

Scripture alone is not the rule of faith or source of truth, Christ is! heb 1:1-3 extends to His church matt 18:17 matt 5:14 matt 6:33 1 tim 3:15 and by His command! matt 28:19 acts 1:8

Christ established the church to teach and sanctify all men unto eternal salvation! matt 28:19

The unity of Christ and the church are inseparable! Matt 28:20 Jn 15:4-5 Jn 21:20-23 acts 9:4
eph 5:32

Matthew 18:6
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Baptism does not remove the sin that is contained in our mortal body.
you right it removes original sin but not the effects of original sin, the sin nature, that is subdued by suffering and death!

HHQ

The truth about salvation and God’s kingdom are found in scripture.

Where does scripture say we have authority to read the bible for ourselves and decide doctrine on our own?

Christians must be taught or instructed, according to the sense which the perpetual consent of the Catholic Church hath held and expressed, as commanded by Christ! Matt 28:19-20 acts 1:1-8

Jesus Christ founded the new covenant church to teach and sanctify (baptize) all men unto eternal salvation! (Matt 28:19)

The Holy Spirit leads the apostles into all truth (Jn 16:13) they must teach us! (Matt 28:19)

Lk 1:4

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught…

scripture is the only source of truth we can trust.

just like when someone tells you you should only trust them

when someone tells you something you can not confirm in scripture. run, do not walk, to the nearest exit and never look back

the apostles and their successors are also God breathed? Jn 20;21-23

thks
yes

but sometime between the 1st centery and the third.

scripture took a back seat to pagan and gnositc belief and the truth of God was lost in the background

but if you read paul, peter and john, this switch was already in the church. already false teachers and false teachings were infiltrating the church.

so we would be a fool to think it did not continue after the apostles left..

in islam NO!!!

they like everyone are included if they have Catholic & Divine faith of Christ and submit to Christian baptism
So, if we are not Catholic then we are doomed to the lake of fire? This is what I am hearing you say.

Where does scripture say we have authority to read the bible for ourselves and decide doctrine on our own?

#1 - Nobody reads the Bible on their own and decides doctrine.

The doctrine of Christ is already decided.

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
2 John 9

People who go beyond the doctrine of Christ, to both teach and live outside of the teachings of Christ, DOES NOT HAVE GOD.

This applies first and foremost to me.

It also applies to you and everyone who calls on the name of the LORD and therefore names the name of Christ.

That means the Pope on down to the least of us.

#2 - We have the Spirit of God in us to teach us all things.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 14:26

again

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
1 John 2:27
