Is believing/faith a work ?

Sounds good, nevertheless if you condition your salvation on anything you do, even your trust, its works.
Christianity is about trusting God in all things. Salvation is not of ourselves, lest we boast. We cannot save ourselves anyway. Only the blood of the Lamb can save us from our sins.

A thought has come to mind. Calvinists claim they were chosen from the foundation of the earth, and I am sure that is correct, because that was God's will for everyone. Unfortunately, like lost sheep, they have surely gone astray today, but thankfully the Good Shepherd is busy seeking His own. Praise God for Jesus, the Saviour of the world. Look unto him and be saved, Amen.

Sounds Good, yet if we make something we do a condition for salvation, its works.

I am amazed that you think we can change even the smallest particle, or a single jot of God's preordained plan.
.
I didnt say all that, I said if you or I believe that we are saved conditioned on or because of anything we did, even believing, then thats works.

As long as you realize if one conditions their salvation on anything they do, its works and that person is in a lost condition.
Works is a hard topic for many to understand 52. Jesus gave the parable of the talents to show our need to be diligent in holy works. He point blank rejected those in Mat 7:21-23 who actually had great works, but their works was not in line with God's will. You are posting here which indicates you believe in works, but yet you realize that you cannot earn salvation. I am fully aware of that as well, but Jesus brother James really stated it point blank, that faith without works is dead, and that he showed his faith by his works. A person who is capable yet has no works truly has no real faith, nor love for that matter. Love is the motivating force for us Christians to obey God 1 Jn 5:3 and by obeying Him with our assignment, then we are showing love for our neighbor as well.

Why is it love to our neighbor? Most believe that we are very near the coming of Jesus, and although this may be new to you, the Bible is quite clear what will happen to those who do not know God and obey the gospel when he does come 2 Thes 1:6-9. So how far would you go to save someones life if you could? We of course cannot save them, but we can help others to learn about God so they can choose for themselves if they desire to obey Him or not. That is why we have been given the assignment to declare the good news of the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth sir.

Oh Im afraid you have been snared by salvation by works, conditioned on man, thats not good friend, may God be pleased to deliver you.
Let me state it very clearly 52:
Mt 7:21 . . . he that doeth the will of my Father
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

I fully understand why you might not believe my opinions, but will you believe God? I do.

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast."

Im reiterating friend, you are conditioning salvation on your works, thats not good.

The word “believe” in the Greek text is “pisteuo” which is a verb denoting a work. If a person could believe in Christ before they are born again by the Spirit, it would mean they have done a work and that would mean they have worked for their salvation which is totally against what the scriptures teach. Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This is how one may interpret: Ephesians 2 vs 8

By grace you have been born again through the faith of Christ.(or Christ's faithfulness) And the Faith of Christ【his faithfulness】 is not of yourself but a gift of God.

Not through your works to be righteous, lest any man should boast.

So while it may not be through your works to be righteous, that does not mean it does not take the measure of faith given to every man to believe (trust).

That reminds me of a passage from faith to faith.
And I believe Eph 1:13 Don't quote me here.

You also after listenig to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
having also trusted you were sealed with the Holy spirit of promise which was given as a pledge of our enheritance with the view to the redemption to the praise of His glory .

What is the Holy Spirit of promises?

This question above reminds me of this passage.
Even when we are faithless God remains faithful for He can't deny Himself.

Above in red I hilighted "having trusted" so one can see that you can trust the faithfulness of Christ or Trust Jesus The Christ...

If you come to see this way you realize that salvation did not come through your works but through your faith in who Jesus is +when you trusted.

But trusting someone for righteousness is not the way one earns anything. But how they are given the gift of Life(being born again)

So I see 2 different faiths at hand...
One the ability given to every man to believe.
And after being born the faith that works by love.

But recall you are made alive for a reason....
Jesus came that He may destroy the works of the devil. He saved us that we should live soberly and righteous in this present world.

Another words after you are born with life we must continue to walk on it's path. This is salvation too but not directly in the context of Ephesians 2:8.

Im against and the scripture is against making salvation depend on something the person does.
