Christianity is without reason.
Reason is defined as a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event.
So you are saying Christianity is without cause (without God) and/or without explanation (the Bible is not an explanation)? I can't agree with this statement.

Agreed .... add to the list: What you want to believe you tend to believe and you tend to look for excuses to believe it. - Ben Shapiro
My reason is my ultimate authority because it seems reasonable to me to make it so

Agreed.
Oh stop already.
Don't you know that God made me believe what I believe???
He predetermined it from the beginning of time.
UFFA!

OK smarty....

Here's the story:

YOU said Jesus gets those that the Father draws to Him...or gives Him.
I replied that Jesus said HE will draw all to Himself.

This is a conflict.
But, as there can be no conflict in the N.T.,,,,
there must surely be an answer.

John 6:44 which YOU posted
"No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draws him...."

John 12:32
"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself."

The big question is: WHO does the Father draw???
JLB answered this for you (us)....
God draws ALL MEN to Himself.
And He's been doing this since the dawn of time...
I refer you to Romans 1:19-20.

God reveals Himself to a man...somehow, it doesn't matter how.
That man has the opportunity to reply to God with a YES or with a NO.
So God has drawn that person...and the person decides what his answer will be.
This will refer to John 6:44

John 12:32 is ALSO correct!
Why? Because when a person hears of the great love Jesus has for us and the great sacrifice He made for us...
Not only the cross,,,but consider that He left heaven to become one of us....have you ever pondered this?

Jesus became as a lowly man....
so that a lowly man could become as Jesus.

So, yes, Jesus will draw all who hear about Him to Himself.
Even those that do not believe consider Him to be a great person.
He split time in half....Before His birth and After His birth.
But, again, it's up to the individual to say YES to Him.

And that, Mr. Seasoned by Grace, is the answer to the conflict.
Be nice, even in fun.

BTW,,,fastfredy.
I wasn't searching anything.
When one brings up a conflict...
that person should resolve it.
Another member on here did the same thing...
he never resolved it either, but just kept repeating the same
verse in Romans over and over.
Of course, there is a resolution...but hey, I can't do everything.
I like to give you guys a chance every now and then.

Adam and Eve reasoned in the Garden of Eden that the fruit looked good and they reasoned it would be good if they ate of it.
That is the beginning of the end of reason.
They failed to be obedient to God.
That is rebellion.
I have more if you want it but why?

Women are subject to the authority of man.
Now that's in the Bible.
Rollo Tamasi
Yeah...but that's by HER CHOICE, NOT HIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are men who just love to beat their wives into submission because they are control freaks, but the wife has FREEDOM IN CHRIST to make their own choices until they get to that point, and the husband better darn-well accept and love her the way she is in the mean time.
He has obligations under Christ just as his wife does and he very well better not forget it.
He's the leader by example, and better love her as Christ tells us men to, as" Christ loved the Church",or he'll never give her anything she wants to submit to.

To be serious ....
some men don't deserve to be in authority.
Women know the difference.
My hubby handled what he did best, and I handled what I did best.
We had no problem.

What say you Rollo Tamasi ....
Do you think EVERY man has authority?

Every Christian man certainly has authority.
There should be no need to question his character.
A saved woman married to an unsaved man?
She is still subject to him.
Physical or verbal abuse breaks it off I believe.
The Talmud addressed this because the Bible didn't by saying this was the only way a woman could file for divorce

wondering
What God says about authority isn't about if someone deserves it.
It's about whether we are willing to surrender to their God given authority even when they don't seem to deserve it, because we're willing to honor God and place his plans for us before our own desires.

I've seen several women like this and it was BEAUTIFUL.

TOTALLY WRONG.
MALE BIGOTRY AND CHAUVANISM.

The only authority a male has is what his wife is willing to give him BY HER CHOICE.

HE HAS NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in COMPLETE authority over my wife. Anything she says, wants to do, any idea, anything ... I HAVE COMPLETE VETO POWER to ensure things go as I WANT THEM TO!!!

Aside: Though in 35+ years I've been to fearful to use said VETO power.
