Why is Jesus' promise to recipients not being seen?

It is seen. It is seen clearly. The promise is to those in Him, and only those in Him.

What I've asked for is evidence from Scripture that God gives eternal life "continuously". I haven't seen any yet.

So, that's WHEN Jesus gives eternal life; when one believes. So eternal security is PROMISED at the moment one believes.

God gave His Son so you could live eternally through Him. In Him you have this life that is eternal, away from Him you do not have it. Eternal life is not a 'thing' that is passed from one hand to another - it's a LIFE that exists eternally with the only eternal God.

No need to refute Ephesians 1:13-14. Its a true statement. In Christ we are sealed, and only in Him are we sealed. He is the seal of God on us.

And only in Christ do we have this life because we are mortal beings. Therefore, we have to have life continue in us from Him. We cannot live apart from Him. That's His way. We cannot just come to Him and get something from Him and then turn away.

This life is all tribulation. We are in constant tribulation.

Act 14:21-22
When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.

Check the next 2 verses. Eternal life is received by faith in Jesus Christ.

Eternal life is given to us, we either believe it and continue in it - or deny it and loose out on it. You cannot do anything to earn it or keep it. It is a gift of God, not of works - of any kind.

Eph 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Enduring is about reigning, not getting into heaven. Many believers will get into heaven but not everyone will reign with Him.

And, from the context, what is being denied is the privilege of reigning with Him.

Note that enduring and denying are opposites.

All believers will be in heaven, and all believers will reign with Him. Those who deny Him will be denied by Him before the Father.

Mat 10:32-33
So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

Your right, enduring and denying are opposites. Those who endure will reign with Him, those who deny are sent away from Him - He will deny those who deny Him. There is no life apart from Him.

Sure. "continually doing good". Who in the human race has done that?

No where in Romans 2:6-8 does the phrase sinless perfection appear.

His disciples, including Paul demonstrated the lifestyle Jesus intended us to walk in, as well as taught us how we are to live, which is by God's grace, the power of His Spirit given to those who believe.

God has given us His Spirit, to empower us to walk according to the Spirit.

This requires an effort on our part, to turn away from ungodly, immoral things, and set our minds of things above, things that are holy, righteous, and pure.

As we are young in the Lord, we need Godly examples to follow, and learn how to be led by the Spirit, and not by the desires of the flesh.

No, the guarantee is never worthless. It is only worthless to those who consider it worthless. Those who deny the seal obviously consider it worthless. I have never read that God forces someone to consider something of worth, but rather gives people the ability to choose for themselves what they will worship.

The person who looses out on eternal life is the person who is not in Christ. Only Christ is eternal(with the Father and Spirit), so only He has eternal life. Do you believe you are eternal like God?

You must receive eternal life from the one who has it unless you are eternal yourself. I have found that the one who first believed that was cast out of heaven for being so proud to think such a thing.

Because He based the fact of never perishing on the reception of eternal life in John 10:28.

If your understanding were correct, Jesus would have had to promise this instead:
"I give them eternal life, and as long as they endure to the end, they will never perish."

But He didn't make that promise, with any condition.


If that is true, then Jesus' promise as stated in Jn 10:28 cannot be true. His promise creates contradiction with other verses.

I reject any idea that any verse contradicts any other verse.

John 10:28 is talking about his sheep. His sheep will never perish. I don't see any contradiction. His sheep will endure to the end.

Jesus had to endure temptation and hardship and hatred and violence, even unto death; He never denied the truth.

Matthew 10:22
and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 13:21
yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away.

To the end of what?

Christians who practice sin are positionally righteous, being in union with Christ (Eph 1:13,14). Meaning, they have Christ's imputed righteousness, and are therefore not under judgment. But they are progressively NOT righteous. And are under God's mighty hand of discipline for it.
