Jesus. The Word, Power and Wisdom of God

What is in a name? A rose by any other name smells just as sweet. You will be telling me next that Cliffe Richard is not Harry Webb and he did not come from India. Get used to it. Jesus is his name on earth. And yes, Jesus is the Saviour of the world, something no man can do. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of his wonderful grace. Amen.
Well if all you got out of that was a name your only fooling yourself.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen

Why is Jesus our savior because that what was the Fathers doing - the one who sent and anointed Jesus by His Spirit.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

And God has spoken to us in these last days by His Son.

The God of their Fathers.
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son

What you have there is the one God in three persons, on earth, in heaven and in our hearts, His will to do on earth. A fine example of why God came down from heaven's glory, His work to do. It was hands-on.

Father and Son are the One God. God in heaven is spirit and Jesus is the Father on earth made visible in the image of man. The woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of His garment and was healed. It is a little difficult to reach out into heaven and touch the Father.

What Jesus did is absolutely wonderful. Say thank you, Jesus, for saving my soul. First, though, it is necessary to believe in Him. And secondly, we need to invite Him into our hearts and lives and follow Him all the days of our life. I cannot see you doing that.

The reason for Jesus being found worthy of glory, honor, and power is that He purchased for GOD people from every nation by His blood.
The reason found for the one on the throne for being worthy of glory, honor and power is not something He did for God but because He is the only true God. =>You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

And again nothing was stated in that regard (honor, power, glory) to a person of the Spirit. I guess the host of heaven don't recognize the Spirit of God as a person.

Maybe one day you will see that difference. The Father the origin of all things. As Paul also wrote-From whom all things come. Jesus -through whom all things come.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent

I think you should find it odd that only the person of the Father needs to reconcile things to Himself.

THE GLORY OF JESUS
John 1:14 NKJV And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Luke 9:32 NKJV But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.

John 2:11 NKJV This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 NKJV But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, (4) whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

John 1:14 Is God and becoming flesh
Its all the Fathers doing
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

The Father is Jesus's God
Jesus is the Creator, the Word, in the beginning, the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, The Great I AM, the beginning and the end.

He is the God of the Old Testament. In Isa 41:4 it says, “I, the LORD, am the first; And with the last. I am He.”

He is the God of the Old Testament. In Isa 41:4 it says, “I, the LORD, am the first; And with the last. I am He.”
The Father is the origin and architect of all creation.
He created through the Son.
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live

The Father is the God of the OT and if you read revelation He is the One still on HIS throne.
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,

God created through the Son
whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

Jesus has all the fulness of God in Him - From the will of another
For in him all the fullness was pleased to dwell

Jesus is all that the Father is
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being

And then they plotted how to kill him.

And then they plotted how to kill him.
What they meant for evil God allowed for Good.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

That sin was forgiven them.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing

They knew very well what they were doing. They plotted his death down to the last detail. Furthermore, they paid a traitor, and they manipulated the Romans. It was clever. Jesus used their ignorance as a reason for forgiving them. Thousands knew who Jesus was. Jesus uttered that prayer in fulfilment of prophecy.

The proof of Christ’s identity can be seen in Isaiah 53:12 He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

They fulfilled the prophecy of their own scriptures in that terrible act.

In this chapter, the incarnation, preaching, humiliation, rejection, sufferings, death, atonement, resurrection, and mediation of Jesus Christ are all predicted, together with the prevalence of his Gospel, and the extension of his kingdom through all ages. (Believers Bible)

Irrefutable proof that Jesus was the Messiah
(1) The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1; Luke 2:4-6)
(2) The Messiah will be a descendant of Jacob. (Numbers 24:17; Matthew 1:2)
(3) The Messiah will enter Jerusalem as a king riding on a donkey. (Zechariah 9:9; Mark 11:4-11)
(4) The Messiah will be betrayed by a friend. (Psalm 41:9; Luke 22:47,48)
(5) The Messiah's betrayal money will be used to purchase a potter's field. (Zechariah 11:13; Matthew 27:9,10)
(6) The Messiah will be spat upon and struck. (Isaiah 50:6; Matthew 26:67)
(7) The Messiah's hands and feet will be pierced. (Psalm 22:16; John 20:25-27)
(8) Soldiers will gamble for the Messiah's garments. (Psalm 22:18; Luke 23:34)

They killed the Messiah! People should be hanging their heads in shame instead of defending this terrible atrocity.

First of all "they" are long dead and people of this day and age are not responsible for what they did.

Like the Son who submitted to His Fathers will you should put your will aside and submit to Christ's will.
Example: "Father in keeping with the will of my Lord forgive them for they know not what they do"

3rd Those people didn't believe in Jesus and He stated, "they know not what they do".
4th Jesus Himself could have stopped it but He submitted to the Fathers will.

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

Nevertheless the Gospel was preached to them
“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,(gentiles) put him to death by nailing him to the cross

And many came to the faith.
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day

later
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

It is not necessary to live 2000 years ago to harbour the same thoughts and beliefs as those who crucified Jesus.
The opposer is alive and actively seeking to destroy. Consider the consequences of denying Jesus today.

God knows our heart.
Jesus has shown us the Father. Its His will that our attitude should be the same towards those who don't care for Him in this day and age. I know my Lord.

While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

There is only one omnipresent God. The expression father and son was only adopted to describe God on earth.

As I said, Jesus is the pre-incarnate Word who created the heaven and the earth.

Yes in that creation was created through Jesus.
John, Hebrews, Paul state this.
Is this some reason your not involving the Father in your statement?
The Host of Heaven in regard to the one on the throne.
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

All things are from the Father and through the Son. Is there a reason your ignoring this?

From the Father through the Son.

There never was a 'Son' in the beginning, only the Word. Jesus is the Word and when it says 'all things came from the Father and all things including salvation came through the Son' it is telling us Father and Son are One.

In the prophecy of Daniel, God is the ancient of days, and in Revelation, Jesus is the ancient of days, meaning Jesus is God who will pronounce judgement on the world. It is scripture's way, or the Holy Spirit's way under whose divine inspiration the Bible was written, of telling us that Jesus is God who came to his own, to rescue them from sin and degradation. I find this both wonderful and at the same time frightening. The consequences of people not understanding this and therefore writing the creator off as a mere man terrifies me because he is our judge and "at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow." (Philippians 2:10)

Even orthodoxy believes Jesus was begotten of the Father BEFORE all worlds. Yes very God from very God begotten not made. But a coeternal person of the trinity that has always existed with the Father.

I have already presented the oneness Jesus taught. You don't believe Him.

Jesus was exalted to the right hand of the Father in heaven. In revelation He still calls the Father His God and His Father.

Paul spoke of the Jesus who was when He stated the creation was made through Him along side of the statement about the Father who he states from whom all things came. And also stated of Jesus the fullness was pleased to dwell in Him.
Likewise God stated in the beginning “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,"
Furthermore the writer of Hebrews see's a Father and Son in the creation as well which is before the incarnation.
(about the son)
Its common in orthodoxy for many to hold Jesus has always been the person of the Son just not made.
Eternally existent Son of God. A new person did not come into existence at His birth from Mary. Jesus remains the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus is not the ancient of days in Daniel 7. He is the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven that is lead into the presence of the ancient of days and He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

At His trail Jesus was asked if He was the Christ the Son of God.
I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
