It is not one judgment. It is two separate judgments for two separate people. Which is why the seats are delineated as the white throne, and the Bema seat.
I am aware of that rather modern teaching.
It was introduced by John Nelson Darby in the 1830's and included the (false, I believe) teachings of two resurrections and two judgments.
From the beginning, the Church taught that there will be one resurrection and one judgment.
Scripture speaks of "THE" judgment, not many judgments.
Mat 5:21-22 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,
‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of
the judgment.' But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of t
he judgment.
Mat 12:41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in
the judgment with this generation and condemn it,
Mat 12:42 The queen of the South will rise up in
the judgment with this generation and condemn it,
Act 24:25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and
the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”
Rom 14:10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ
2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things
done in thebody, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. (See john 5:28-29)
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this t
he judgment
Jde 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for t
he judgment of the great day;
In the same manner, scripture speaks about ONE and ONLY one resurrection.
Mat 22:28 Therefore, in
the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be?
Mat 22:30 For in t
he resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage,...
Mat 22:31 But concerning
the resurrection of the dead,...
Jhn 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to
the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to
the resurrection of condemnation.
Jhn 11:24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in t
he resurrection at the last day.”
Act 4:-21 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus
the resurrection from the dead.
Act 17:18 Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, “What does this babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he preached to them Jesus and
the resurrection.
Act 17:32 And when they heard of
the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this
matter.”
Act 24:21 ...unless
it is for this one statement which I cried out, standing among them, "Concerning
the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you this day.”
And many more.
But NOWHERE does scripture speak of "judgment
S" (plural) or resurrection
S (plural.)
But the whole teaching does make for some very fascinating and spell-binding preaching.
So we're probably not going to agree on those points. We can ask when we get past the pearly gates if we're still interested at that time. (We probably won't care.)
