28) Looking for Job

- YOU FEEL BAD THEN HAVE A LOOK AT THE BOOK OF JOB AND ESPECIALLY AT HIS WORDS

- OR BETTER SAID, HAVE A LOOK AT THE BOOK OF JOB AGAIN AND AGAIN AND BEFORE YOU FEEL BAD, ALWAYS HAVING IN MIND HIS WORDS AND THINKING ABOUT THEM AND HOW HE STAYED A ROCK EVEN IN THE PIT ALWAYS FIGHTING BACK WHATEVER WOULD HAPPEN!

29) Looking for Job

Job 6:26
Do you intend
תַּחְשֹׁ֑בוּ (taḥ·šō·ḇū)
Verb - Qal - Imperfect - second person masculine plural
Strong's 2803: To think, account

to correct
הַלְהוֹכַ֣ח (hal·hō·w·ḵaḥ)
Preposition | Verb - Hifil - Infinitive construct
Strong's 3198: To be right, reciprocal, to argue, to decide, justify, convict

my words,
מִלִּ֣ים (mil·lîm)
Noun - feminine plural
Strong's 4405: A word, a discourse, a topic

and treat the speech
אִמְרֵ֥י (’im·rê)
Noun - masculine plural construct
Strong's 561: Something said

of a desperate man
נֹאָֽשׁ׃ (nō·’āš)
Verb - Nifal - Participle - masculine singular
Strong's 2976: To desist, to despond

as wind?
וּ֝לְר֗וּחַ (ū·lə·rū·aḥ)
Conjunctive waw, Preposition-l | Noun - common singular
Strong's 7307: Wind, breath, exhalation, life, anger, unsubstantiality, a region of the sky, spirit

- As Job says, he speaks because he is desperate and his desperation goes away!

- Every word is DESPERATION!

- But they don’t care! That is a huge mistake! No, it is unforgivable!

- They are pitiless!

- They are of no help!

- May we listen to Job not to follow their examples and be helpful by listening and comforting and being positive and help to recover!

Do you think I am desperate? (Job’s words?)

Job was pretty well settled in who he was and his words.

Job’s friends tried to rebuke him.

30) Looking for Job

- Of course, there are many different situations where to find desperation!

- And there are different levels of desperation!

- Of course, Job was not going to die!

- Probably, the hardest desperation is when people are going to die!

- It’s not the time to wake up when people are dead!

- We must do something when they are still alive!

- When we are present, we show that we care!

- It is important to take advantage of any minute to show people that we love them or appreciate them!

31) Looking for Job

- Having to do with someone who is quadriplegic is also difficult!

- Of course, the person is not going to die!

- Thus there is always hope!

- Let’s think about Stephen Hawking the physicist: he could only use his brain but he did it in such a way and the specialists only gave him a short time to live and he could prove them to be wrong!

32) Looking for Job

- Having to do with someone who is paraplegic is also difficult!

- It’s not easy to stop being able to walk and run and do many things with the legs!

- But there are so many examples of people who are doing sport being paraplegic!

- And at first, they may get depressed!

- But we have our legs and we can go for a walk with them pushing their wheelchairs and nature is so beautiful and has so much to offer and so much life!

- And we can help them do some sport!

- And mental activities are also important!

- Think about blind people and how they can compensate the loss of sight!

- There are always ways to enjoy life and studying the Bible is an essential one to keep hope in spite of what happens every day in the world!

2 Corinthians 4:16 kjv

- Yes, by studying and speaking about the Bible!
- The more we study and speak about the Bible, the more we learn!
- The more we open our eyes and ears and heart!
- The more we develop our relationship to God!
- The more we rediscover the Bible!
- The more we open doors!

An interesting aspect of Job is:

Job had heard about God. I do not know who his source was. Sure not his friends or Elihu.

God introduced/explained what could be seen in nature/creation. Romans 1:20

Some of the creation information.isstill hidden but still it was there.

One of my favorite visual ( visual being eyeballs and eyes of our understanding).

Job 38:11 kjv
11. And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

Of course we know that Satan thought he could destroy Job with wave after wave of sorrow and heartache. But God set limits to the suffering of Job.

At creation God set the beaches to stop most waves. A great visual ( both physical and metaphysical/ spiritual). If you do not build on sand even a tsunami will stop.

eddif

- SO LET’S REPEAT AFTER GOD: THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM ON EARTH!

There is a second man who later superseded Job, but at that time he was the greatest.

Matthew 11:11 kjv
11. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

- He was the first human to prove the devil a liar!

- He was the only one the devil used to oppose God in such a way!

- The devil could do anything against Job except killing him!

- He is the only one God addresses to invite him to listen when he doesn't want to answer anymore!

- I can't remember anybody else God ask to pray for someone else's life!

- There aren't many men in the Bible having such a strong relationship to God!

- Thus the devil's attempt to destroy Job's relationship to God!

I too see so much in Job.

However

Adam and Eve talked with God in the cool of the evening. Satan temped them.

Able had the offering that pleased God.
Cain killed him.

Seth began to call on the name of God.

There was a progression to Jesus.

During the law blessings were not eternal life’s.

The prophets began to speak of the coming law in hearts and minds.

I really admire Job. By the declaration of God he was righteous.

eddif

- Yes and they were perfect and it was their choice to lose this special relationship they received from God!

- Able couldn't live enough to develop his relationship to God!

- We are not told a lot about Seth!

- With the book of Job we have so many details!

- it is incredible!

- And God takes time to answer Job with such a long answer!

- It is mind-blowing!

- We are not told a lot about Seth!
Genesis 4:26 kjv
26. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

And
There needed to be a major change of direction. Adam and Eve had sin. Cain had sin. To call on God as LORD was a major change. The word to be made flesh is hinted at(?).

So much is veiled at this time. Seeds being a symbol of the word of God existed but hidden. The word LORD appears, but till Jesus is born and completes his purpose it is a mystery.

Revelation 3:20 really is the Lord potential really revealed at Pentecost.

In a sense you are right. I took the verse to stress Seth, but it could have been Enos.
Or
If we look at God the Father and the Son Jesus, with the Holy Spirit that started and finished the work.

The old covenant was veiled, the new covenant was much more revealed.

So really the calling on the name of the LORD was the stressed occurrence.

Jesus son of David have mercy on us.

The Father put all things under Jesus till all enemies are defeated.

- Yes, very few used to look for God!

- And violence increased!

- And God destroyed humanity except Job and his family!

- Very few indeed!

- And after the flood the same history started again and again!

33) Looking for Job

Job 6:

You would also cast lots over an orphan

And sell your own friend!

- Job’s words are really hard!

- But sometimes and often it is important to tell things as it has to be told!

- Otherwise we may regret it!

- And Job invites us to remember his words and not act like the three individuals who came to see him to help him but did the reverse!

- Of course, when we act stupidly, we need to be told!

- But someone who is desperate or depressed first need people to understand how he feels and to listen to him and to be encouraged to go back to life gradually and not too fast!

- Imagine someone who has been in coma and must learn everything again!

In chapters 4&5 Eliphaz has set up the fact that a righteous l person never suffers,

Jesus was innocent but suffered.

I bumped post by accident o will continue later. I am in edit now.

Got to love a touch screen. One touch in the wrong / right place…..

Any way.

Job was declared a righteous servant by God )in the first chapters). Very similar to God saying (this is my Son in whom I am well pleased). Yet enemies lied about Jesus and came against him. All of the book of Job is ultimately about redemption, from a suffering servant.

Notice the mention the casting of lots. Jesus seamless coat was gambled for.

Notice also that Jesus said to the Father why has thou abandoned/forsaken me. That would make Jesus an orphan.

Notice that Judas sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Jesus was sure a friend when he offered himself, so that others could be saved.

So
Are the words of Job hard? Well yes in one sense they were, but redemption was close at hand.
And
Looking forward to the new covenant, redemption is hidden in the Old Testament words of Job.

Job prayed for his friends. Jesus prayed for the sins of the whole world.

Types and shadows abound in the book of Job. Right in the Old Testament are references that fit the redemption the messiah would provide.

Thanks for this thread.

- Good!
-If Job's words are hard?
- I don't think so!
- Once again God is his only reference!
- For him it can only be God!
- Everything which happens is not natural!
- It can't be an accident!
- And God doesn't say anything!
- Job is let to himself!
- The devil did everything so Job would think it was God!
- He wants Job to go away from God!
- And he uses all possible weapons!
- His attacks against Job are a masterpiece!
