Mother of God

It's from a book called,

The Chemistry of the Blood," by Dehoon, I ordered mine form Amazon, it's quite an eye opener, he's a medical doctor and explains what the blood does in our bodies and how that correlates spiritually, ...definitely a good read.
I dont' trust the word of one man. But then, I do not need to, look what I found on WebMD:

Fetal Blood Flow

A fetus (baby) is fed, or nourished, by the mother through the placenta, which is attached to the umbilical cord. In the placenta, the mother's blood and the fetal blood both flow through vessels that are very close together. But the mother's blood does not mix with the fetal blood. When the mother's blood is close to the fetal blood, oxygen and nutrients move from the mother's blood into the fetal blood.

In Luke 1:46-55; we have Mary's song of praise.
It is beautiful, worthy of any Hebrew poetry, and similar with Hannah's prayer in 1 Samuel 2.
When you read this hymn of praise, you can't help but feel the warmth, the love, the beauty that is inside this well chosen young women.
Through this prayer, we can see the love this women has for God, and how easy it is for that love to overflow to us.

After the filling of Holy Spirit from the book of Acts ot Revelation there is no special mention of a lady named "mother of Jesus"

Ya got it bro, a sinless Savior from the egg of a sinful woman, just like God promised way back in Genesis, ...but the book is a good read and the author is a Christian brother.

So what's your point?
That Mary's song has no meaning to a Christian?
That she doesn't teach us to draw closer to God?
Lots of people are not mentioned after the Book of Acts.
Does that mean they should have no impact on our lives?

You are dying here with your reasoning.

Good grief. Mary was chosen by God to receive such disrespect?
Mary is a sinner saved by Grace... Do you show as much disrespect to the mothers of your human friends as you do the woman God chose to birth & nurture His Son?
Because some groups elevate her to an ungodly position beyond the Scripture, it does not then automatically follow others should push her lower then the Scripture....

Luk_1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

I think the desire to assault Roman Catholicism has some going so far as to insult the virgin Mary of the Christians by proxy.
It's a tragedy.

I'll say. But then, He keeps his promises, even when we don't 'get it'. :)

God's design of the human is no less awesome than His design for anything else.

I dont understand how the blood stuff works... How ever it works does not change who the Son of God is...

I am type 0- husband is B+ our son is B- dont know what if anything that proves

:shrug

O- + B+ = B-.
Hypothetically speaking of course.

What did Paul say. I don't want to know anything except Jesus Christ. This concept of Mary came from certain denominiation. The early church had no focus on any mary or infant jesus. All we must know is Christ crucified. Mary was just a vessel so are you and me.

IN the matter of God, He is supreme no one can take his place .This thread was started by some mother of God stuff and there is nothing called mother of God in Christianity.

There is nothing pushing lower or higher. The books after resurrection of Jesus have nothing to say anything special about mary than just being with the 120 people in the upper room! Period.

Let me try to explain dear one,

The life is in the blood, so then the sinful nature of the parents, specifically the father is passed on to his children, since the Father of Jesus was the Holy Spirit and Peter tells us His seed is incorruptible, then there wasn't any sin nature in Jesus and no sin tainted blood from the mother in Him either, so yes He was the Son of God, born of a woman to be the Son of Man also, that is, the grandchild of Adam (the first Adam), ...and yes we need to be thankful that Mary took good care of Him, ...but I don't think she wants any adoration, veneration or praise any more than you or I do, in fact, since she is in the presence of the Lord, observing Him 24/7 in His Glorified state as described to us by John in the Revelation chapter 1, if I was her, ...I would be embarrassed.

I was taking of not understanding , the natural blood stuff ...chemistry . not the spiritual side...

As far as me offering Mary any adoration i only go as far as Scripture...

This is the angel of the Lord speaking not me...Luk_1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Do we just disregard this passage
Luk 1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
Luk 1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Luk 1:48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Are you possibly reading into my words something that is not there?
I do not understand this statement of yours.. There is nothing pushing lower or higher.
Is not the elevation of Mary your complaint?

Let's look at the words of Jesus himself;
Luke 8:16;
"No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so those who come in can see the light".

We are not just a vessel, we are special.
God himself puts us on a stand so that the world can see our light, the light that comes from and through Jesus.
So don't say we are just a vessel, we are more than that.
When the Spirit of God shines through you, you are a vessel of God, on a stand, shining bright to the whole world.
Mary included.

The OP is about Mariology being idolatry.
Nothing more than that.
If you think the OP says more than that, you need to reread it and point it out to me.

In the meantime, anyone who is a believer in God, and especially those who have a place in the Bible, need not to be put down for any other reason.
To do so is speaking out against Christianity.

It is interesting to note that as far as I can tell, no one has quoted Matthew 11:11 in this connection. Jesus said "Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he".

"Them that are born of women" means all human beings since Adam and Eve. Mary was another human being and highlly favored by God. Yet according to these words of Christ, there was no human being greater than John. The reason was that he was specially chosen by God to be the forerunner of the Messiah. Please note carefully what the angel said to Zechariah, his father, before John's birth (Lk 1:15-17):
15For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
16And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

John was indeed a unique prophet and we should note:
1. He shall be great in the sight of the Lord -- this is not even said about the apostles.
2. He shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb -- this is not even said about Mary.
3. He shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias -- this is not even said about any other New Testament prophets.
4. To make ready a people prepared for the Lord -- John would turn the hearts and minds of all Israel to receive Christ and turn back to God -- "Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan" (Mt 3:5).

In this context, when Mary and His family sought to get Christ's attention, He pointed to His disciples and said "Behold, my mother and my brethern!" (Mt 12:47-50). In essence, His earthly family ties were no higher than His ties to His disciples, and the meaning of "mother, brothers, and sisters" had changed for Him. This is something to think about and to meditate upon.

Why?

Good grief. Mary was chosen by God to receive such disrespect?
Absolutely not!

From Luke 1:
28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.

Twice the angel tells her that God favors her. I don't know why, but God found favor with her. There has to have been something about this young girl that touched God's heart, doesn't there?
Did He just point and say "BAM, she will do!" According to the angel's own words, this is NOT how it happened. She was chosen.

Worshipping her is going too far. But in the context that Jesus and God are one, then she IS the mother of God.

What's the big deal?
