My prayer for holiness.

I did not ask for prayer regarding holiness; I mentioned that it is my prayer that the Lord would make me holy.
What’s the difference? So far He hasn’t answered.
I do believe that the Lord has answered in the affirmative (1 John 5:14-15).
Not from observation of your posts. You know, the heart is deceptive.
You are certainly free to add your prayers to mine and I am certainly not opposed to that.
No, He won’t answered that prayer and your posts don’t indicate he has.

In the Psalmist prayer he asks GOD to judge and act on the wicked. In your prayer YOU decided who is wicked (stop what you’ve determined to be godly threads.) That’s the difference
God decides which threads are godly...

Moderators need to be held accountable when they "suppress the truth in unrighteousness" (Romans 1:18).

So, you are saying that it is not the Lord's will to make a person holy, who asks Him to make him holy?

See 1 John 5:14-15.

You should be less quick to judge.

You know, you will be judged with the same measure that you mete out judgment.

Did the Psalmist pray an ungodly prayer in Psalms 10:15?

I told you in the other thread that I prayed that prayer even for myself because of my desire for sanctification and that the Lord even broke my arm as the result.

So I have not asked anything for anyone else that I have not also taken upon myself.
Just curious here, how do you know it was the Lord who broke your arm ?

It is my prayer that the Lord will satisfy me with His living water so that I will not be drawn away by, tempted by, enticed by, or become thirsty for, the toilet water that this world has to offer (John 4:13-14, John 6:35, John 7:37-39).

Amen, well said. :salute

Here is one that validates what you are saying, and most likely hearing from the Spirit.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:20-21

These vessels of wood and clay were made to be human waste recpticles.

Each of us is called to “cleanse ourselves” from being a spiritual toilet so that we will become a vessel of honor, fit for our most worthy King and Lord to be used for His honor and glory.

Our soul and mind needs to be renewed and restored, as well as our spirit cleansed and set apart, sanctified through fasting and repentance.

Blessings to you.

Time will tell.

If it didn't, then perhaps the Lord will have to break my other arm, or the same arm at a later date, in order to finish the job. :cool2
But our wickedness does not reside in our flesh , so where is the battlefield at ?

In our minds !

2 Corinthians 10
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I broke my arm and leg at the same time a couple of years ago , I understand pain . Praying for you brother heartwashed .

Jesus’ wants? yes. Automatically fulfilled in you therefore? No

Jesus told us to judge by fruit. I’m quick to obey it seems.

No problem.

I see that you didn't even read the scripture that was referenced. Here, I'll quote it for you.

1Jo 5:14, And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1Jo 5:15, And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

However, you may not be able to see or understand the message that is given in the above verses (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

And Jesus said to not judge by the outward appearance; but to judge righteous judgment.

You have judged me to be unrighteous for that I have prayed a similar prayer to what was prayed by the righteous Psalmist in Psalms 10:15; not considering that my prayer is actually righteous.

I would simply say that you have a critical spirit, madame.

Will never work as sin comes from the inside.

Heb 12:11, Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

They need to be accountable to you from reading your post. Might want to think about that.
Ultimately it is God that they are accountable to. If I were to post an ungodly post, they will be able to delete that post without any consequences. But I have made my prayer as a deterrent against deleting godly posts, locking godly threads, and banning godly ministers. I am not the judge of what that is except inasmuch as I am able to discern what is godly.

I asked Him to "seek out my wickedness until He finds none" according to Psalms 10:15.
Break the arm of the wicked. The "hand" of God (Psa_10:12, Psa_10:14) is more than sufficiently strong to shatter the arm (another figure for power) of ungodly people.

This is so far off of the truth I don’t know where to begin. I think it best if the matter of your holiness is left to rest. I can assure you that He will never answer the prayer to simply make you desire holiness so you behave accordingly avoiding the usual painful method of denying yourself and taking up the cross. You quote Hebrews on chastening but refuse to accept any critique let alone chastening. This is His most frequent method of changing a man.

This explanation is offered in case anyone else thinks one can ask God to make one desire to do good without the painful process of self-controlling the desire to do as one feels like which is not good. Ask for the fear of God instead.
