Nun Going To Jail

Right you are Lewis: "A nun as you already know' are held in high regard." as were the Vestal Virgins of Rome the Vestals were later incorporated into the church.. strange how a car full got caught carrying communist literature around in their station wagon.. of course i only have the word of those Missionaries to back their claim..

tob

*edit: i suppose if you were to look at the crime as sabotage you might see the sentence more clearly

Okay I just saw the video and she is a trooper' she is mentally prepared to do the time. But I still think that she should have got probation' instead of possibly dying in jail. And did you hear what they said' she embarrassed them' so that is what this is about. So that is why you would throw a 84 year old lady in jail. As far as I am concerned they should be marched down to the river with bouncing betties tied to them pull the cord and then shot.

Age has nothing to do with it.You commit the crime you pay the price.

None of them expressed any remorse for their crimes. One actually said he'd do it again if he got the chance. The nun showed disrespect to the court by demanding a life sentence.

I think they expected light sentences because of their age and that's probably why they were chosen to do what they did. I don't believe any of them expected to get as far as they did. They broke the laws of the land and went against the scriptures. Their actions cost at least one person their job and who knows how many others. They did a lot more damage then simply cutting a couple of fences and spray painting a building.

Would the reaction be the same if these were Islamic radicals?
.

Do you think that she commited a crime?
Just reread my op this refers to. "Kudos to her for her conviction (of beliefs...not crime) and can see where some people might have misunderstood me. What is means is "Kudos to her for her conviction to her beliefs, not kudos for committing a crime" I didn't mean it to sound like i was saying it "Was not a crime"
To me, it was pretty clear, but then I speak Australian fluently and with sarcasm as my second language maybe y'all didn't understand my accent :nod

Gary, most of what you say is pretty right, But their actions didn't cost anyone their job. The truth of the matter is that the security wasn't up to scratch and the people in charge of security paid the price for their own failure and nonchalance regarding their duties and rightly so. That would be like me sleeping at my desk at school. a student posting a picture on facebook resulting in my sacking and then me blaming the kid, facebook, everyone except the one person truly responsible ...ME. or in this case them

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted. I came back to edit but too much time had expired and it wasn't possible. But you are right. They were negligent and paid the price. I read somewhere, can't remember where, but a bunch of people lost their jobs over this. They're still having security problems there.

Oh well......thanks for catching that.

yes, that is likely the case in sentencing. but well the government should be consistent with a stating that the acts commited maj nadal Hussein were an act of terrorism but the dod wont allow that. it would be an embarassement.

Why would they want her to die in jail she is 84 warn her and let her go home. Why don't they lock up abortion doctors, man say's it is legal but God say's it isn't. But yet the abortion doctors are living out on the main line in luxury off of the murders of babies. If there is anybody who should go to jail and then hung' it's them. This lady is a first time offender. There have been people whi have done bigger crimes towards the people and were pardoned by Presidents. American law in many instances is double standard.

sadly abortion is legal.if we judged by that then yes they should die but then so should the mothers. conspiring to kill a child is the same as murder.

The world doesn't operate according to what God says. If it did, there would be no storehouses for bomb-grade uranium.

we wouldn't have government. we wouldn't need it. jesus when he returns shall eliminate the need for goverments.

Many of the symptoms of Gulf War syndrome are similar to the symptoms of organophosphate, mustard gas, and nerve gas poisoning.[22][23] Gulf War veterans were exposed to a number of sources of these compounds, including nerve gas and pesticides.[24]

Chemical detection units from Czechoslovakia, France, and Britain confirmed chemical agents. French detection units detected chemical agents. Both Czech and French forces reported detections immediately to U.S. forces. U.S. forces detected, confirmed, and reported chemical agents; and U.S. soldiers were awarded medals for detecting chemical agents. The Riegle Report said that chemical alarms went off 18,000 times during the Gulf War. After the air war started on January 16, 1991, coalition forces were chronically exposed to low but nonlethal levels of chemical and biological agents released primarily by direct Iraqi attack via missiles, rockets, artillery, or aircraft munitions and by fallout from allied bombings of Iraqi chemical warfare munitions facilities.[25]

In 1997, the US Government released an unclassified report that stated, "The US Intelligence Community (IC) has assessed that Iraq did not use chemical weapons during the Gulf War. However, based on a comprehensive review of intelligence information and relevant information made available by the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM), we conclude that chemical warfare (CW) agent was released as a result of US postwar demolition of rockets with chemical warheads at several sites including Khamisiyah". Over 125,000 U.S. troops and 9,000 UK troops were exposed to nerve gas and mustard gas when the Iraqi depot in Khamisiyah was destroyed.[26]

Recent studies have confirmed earlier suspicions that exposure to sarin, in combination with other contaminants such as pesticides and PB were related to reports of veteran illness. Estimates range from 100,000 to 300,000 individuals exposed to nerve agents.[27]

While there are suggestions low-level exposure to nerve agents may be responsible for GWS, 2008 RAC report states that "evidence is inconsistent or limited in important ways".[28]

Hussein did not hit us with nerve agents. if i he did would have faced a nuke. frankly I would agree with that. if I was hit by a nerve agent. let me die. I wont be able to do much anyway. it damages the cns to the point of death or vegetable, or limited control of functions. its not like you will be healed from such impacts.even the meds given to reduce that can cause mild nerve agent attack symptoms. the epi pin is used for immediate action upon a nerve agent hit.

I agree with Kathi. Breaking into such a facility is serious business. It needs to be shown that this is serious business - a decent penalty (nun or no nun). Also, I agree it is frustrating that the abortion performing doctors get no punishment but, unfortunately, they aren't breaking the law. Something tells me though that they will get their due someday.
