there wasn't. it was a grass strip an this is in a photo form.i have seen that. The picture makes it appear as though there wasn't pavement. That would make for a potentially bumpy landing and taxiing for a passenger plane (like the one in the photo).
But, ah! Airstrips are great fun!

those were I think dc-3Still, in those early years, the passengers on those planes had leg space, meals (for longer distance flights), and it was a treat to fly.
surely these are still in use. we have two that fly to Haiti from ft. pierceI didn't fly in those days. (For some reason, I wasn't alive yet.............)

I know that they are. I have photos of them . the two I mention.According to the Wiki link:
Approximately 400 DC-3s and converted C-47s are still flying to this day as a testament to the durability of the design, many examples being over 70 years old.

I have to go photo more of big blue. I will probably hit her up this week. been a long week last week. I wasn't in the mood to photo .
I attended this ,and it led to the other. What a wonderful conclusion to years of loss (in more ways than just one)! Such a special tribute to a veteran, not to mention the extra work involved in getting the replacements.
City hall probably put In place after the historic designation.you have heard or seen photos all most of those places.the clothe mural is not new.I was look fit the Brazilian court one.the edmar apartments still stands under a new name.it's the edgewood apartmentsWhat fascinating treasures!
