There are some other NAMES that also denote the quality of Satan.
Taken from the KJV and NASU/NASB
Most common are...
....Satan
....Devil/s
....demon/s (common in NASU/NASB but none in KJV)
Less common are...
....evil one
....destroyer
....evil spirit
Oh absolutely, I understand what you are saying and I agree. Satan is no kitty cat, he is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. The point was that one day when God has divested Satan of His power and cast him into the lake of fire he will no longer appear as glorified and strong.
As we can see from the Scripture I quoted in the OP, at that point in time (it being a yet future event for us) his previous power was acknowledged but it was primarily a mock toward him for finally becoming "weak" (will mark the mocking parts in red) like the rest of them confined to Sheol (Isaiah 14:10). Look at the previous power this figure wielded:
"Those who see you will gaze at you, They will ponder over you, saying,
'Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms,
Who made the world like a wilderness
And overthrew its cities,
Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?' "
Satan will have no more pomp, although he once (at that point in time it will be "past tense" only) had much:
"Your pomp is brought down to Sheol,
And the sound of your stringed instruments;
The maggot is spread under you,
And worms cover you." (vs. 11)
Satan will be mocked that he has been made weak and powerless, mocked by the other dead around him:
"They all shall speak and say to you:
' Have you also become weak as we?
Have you become like us? '" (vs. 10)
That was my initial point, concerning the eschatalogical scene here, not any attempt to belittle Satan's current power on earth, he is the prince of the power of the air after all. Do you understand my point and/or intention now?
God Bless,
