Should Women Preach ?

Lewis W i personally dont care for her style.. No way will i leave that said with out adding this...

Our daughter was lost deep into the drug world for about 25 years... She is working to be clean she listens to Joyce.... Takes notes looks up scripture :)
My approval or disapproval of Joyce's style does not mater ... I thank the Lord for Joyce Meyers... What matters to this mom is the phone calls i get that talk about what Joyce has said and how much it helps her :)
God is God He can use what ever vessel He choses.... Talking about liking or not a minister has its place.

by oral traditions with Jacob he was a usurper. the torah didn't say then that the firstborn had the inheritance. it was by an oral tradition that god used it. unless im wrong.lol

You might be right about that, supposedly the Hebrew name Jacob means usurper, and then God calls him Israel later.
We know the Bible says he and Rebecca deceived Isaac in order to cause Isaac to bless Jacob instead of Esau?

yacob and isreal are interchangeable on the tombstones. isreal means prince. why that is the case with the kaddish I don't know

The apostle Paul in the Book of Romans, the last chapter, the seventh verse, alludes to two people, Andronicus and Junia. Junia is a woman. And then, he refers to them as “fellow apostles,” which in the life of the early church was the highest position attainable in leadership and in preaching.
When they translated the NIV, the men changed the name Junia to Junias. [Editor's note: Read more about the centuries-old Junia/Junias debate.] They made it into a male name.

I can say most of my fundamentalist brothers and sisters--are quite willing to pack women off and send them as missionaries to dangerous places where they might get killed. They don’t mind them preaching overseas. They just don’t want them to be preaching in their own backyard.

I know that calvary chapel doesn't do that. they don't allow woman pastors and to be missionaires by themselves.

I need to research this, and I mean today.

As far as women being in the pulpit, in the Book of Acts, you will find that Philip had three daughters who were preachers.

This is a misleading assessment considering the Bible says they prophesied. It's incorrect to insert preaching as a specific definition of prophecy.

Act 21:9 KJV And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

Absolutely.

Eph 4:11-12 KJV And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

G652
ἀπόστολος
apostolos
ap-os'-tol-os
From G649; a delegate; specifically an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ (“apostle”), (with miraculous powers): - apostle, messenger, he that is sent.

G4166
ποιμήν
poimēn
poy-mane'
Of uncertain affinity; a shepherd (literally or figuratively): - shepherd, pastor.

YLT
Act 21:8 and on the morrow Paul and his company having gone forth, we came to Caesarea, and having entered into the house of Philip the evangelist--who is of the seven--we remained with him,
Act 21:9 and this one had four daughters, virgins, prophesying.

I agree, prophecy is not the same as teaching anymore than evangelist is. In fact in the hierarchy it (prophecy) is above teaching. It also shows that the idea of women being confined to "silence" in the assembly is not the case at all. This leads to some trying to categorize different time periods in the assembling which I personally don't see Paul do.
Some also see assembly as church on Sunday where assembly was anytime any Christians were gathered together.
So in a mixed group Bible study a woman can't ask a question? Well, not if her husband says she shouldn't, she would usurp (rule over) his authority as her covering. I say, that for a woman to publicly disagree with her husband's teaching would fit into this same idea of 'usurp' his authority. This could easily become a public display of a couple who are not living the Biblical principles of headship of the husband. Not good in my opinion.

1 Timothy 2
11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.
12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

I don't understand the confusion. It says what it says. If people are offended by that, then that's something they'll have to work out between themselves and God. Twisting and molding the scriptures to say something that they were never meant to say is not how the Word of God was meant to be handled.

I don't appreciate Joyce Meyer when she preaches with men in her audience. I think she is missing out on a greater ministry if she held her conferences to women only.

What I do like about Joyce, is her books. I have read several of them, especially the battle of the mind. She is an anointed writer. If she "preached" only to women, she would not be violating clear teaching on women usurping authority of men.
