I thought it was Hezekiah who did that........As you know the brass serpent was destroyed by Moses because the Israelites had turned it into an idol.
I'm of the opinion that the problem with casting idols is they fail miserably to represent who and what God truly is.Yeah, I agree completely. A picture or any other symbol that serves only as a reminder of something else is not an idol and isn't wrong. That's a lot different than someone (as I've seen some do) who reveres and prays to a statue or picture of Jesus or some other person and trusts in that thing to hear their prayers. That's idolatry, and that's what was being referred to when we are commanded not to make any "graven images".
Are you thinking of the incense?i think the oil used for healing/anointing was forbidden to be used for other purposes. (particular mixture/formula or ? )
You could be right. I stuck my neck out hoping I was right.I thought it was Hezekiah who did that........
no it was later on that , as stated it was Hezekiah. As you know the brass serpent was destroyed by Moses because the Israelites had turned it into an idol.
Was it 'really' Hezekiah? Are we reading what the scriptures 'really' meant when it said it was Hezekiah? Perhaps not.no it was later on that , as stated it was Hezekiah.

Wait, let me examine the original language so I can show it means something other than what it is actually saying....be right back.2 kings 18:4

Exodus 30 NIV;CEB - The Altar of Incense - “Make an altar ...Are you thinking of the incense?
So both the anointing oil and the incense were not to be copied or used for other purposes, then?Exodus 30 NIV;CEB - The Altar of Incense - “Make an altar ...
... This will be my holy anointing oil in every generation. 32 Don’t allow anyone else to use this oil. Don’t make another oil like it by using the same formula.
I know it's a pretty crappy metal to use for nuts and bolts. You can't torque it but a few pounds 'fore it strips.brass. brass is easily broken. ever use a brass punch to remove parts and and install them? they with a few blows do flatten out and also can be cut
off topic it used in a lot of threaded application with plastic to metal. ie coil packs. for that reason. so that over tightening cant occur.I know it's a pretty crappy metal to use for nuts and bolts. You can't torque it but a few pounds 'fore it strips.
I was told short hair was actually the style for men during Jesus' day, not the Fabio thing you see in Renaissance period paintings of Jesus.I'd think you could have a picture without worshiping it.
99% of the pictures of Jesus that exist are way off the mark, anyway.
I use them where I don't want them to corrode. I quit, though. They worked so well that I began to worship them.off topic it used in a lot of threaded application with plastic to metal. ie coil packs. for that reason. so that over tightening cant occur.
