Yet, as we see the signs of the coming storm rising up, why are people oblivious to it.
Either the god of this world has blinded them or they just don't want to acknowledge what and Who is coming.

One of the things blinding many people are the false ideas brought in by people, who although they mean well, dont follow what is in Gods Word. We have evangelicals across America that declare that the end of the world would be once the re-establishment of the nation of Israel, which happened in 1948. According to this teaching, this was a prerequisite for the apocalypse of Armageddon. As you can see, this allows for the conflict in the Middle East we have, because these false ideas think its ok, as this is Gods directing, when what it is are really un-biblical views...

Actually it is biblical.But not how people think.
Today's Israel is the beast that evangelicals worship.They are bringing about the time of the end without knowing how.
But armegeddon is not the end of the world.Its just the end of many nations in the middle east who get in a big conflict over Jerusalem.
After the middle east is destroyed by the United states in the war,that land is then given to the seed of abraham.Jacobs descendents who are killed for their testimony of Jesus and who did not worship the beast or it's image or recieved it's mark will live and reign with Christ in the true kingdom of Israel.The borders of the kingdom will be from the Euphrates river to the Nile and everyone who survives the great tribulation there will be holy.No more Muslims , unbelieving Jews or fake christians In that land .
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

If I may butt in, God doesn't promote lies...He is Holy, impeccably righteous.
God grants men have what they choose. The translation "strong delusion" is inaccurate, in context God is granting people follow spirits of evil they that prefer to God.
The "mystery of lawlessness" (2 Thess. 2:7-12) versus the "mystery of Godliness" (2 Thess. 2:13-14; 1 Tim. 3:16).
The Mystery of Lawlessness telepathically (Lk. 8:12; 2Cor. 4:4; Jam. 1:13; Jer. 14:14) inspires rebellion against God's law.
It is a working (1753 ἐνέργεια energeia) of Satan (2 Thess. 2:9) that inwardly deludes, a "strong (1753 ἐνέργεια energeia) [inspiring] delusion" (2 Thess. 2:11) that falsehood is truth, an "energy of error" (ἐνέργειαν πλάνης (2 Thess. 2:11 BYZ)
In this context, the answer to your question is given. What is the "strong delusion"? It is the inwardly working delusion "the Lawless One [Antichrist] is the Christ "(2 Thess. 2:3-4, 7, 9-11; 1 Tim. 4:1; 1 John 2:18-19; Rev. 6:2; Mat. 7:22-23; 24:4-5).
Versus:
The Mystery of Godliness which is the secret power of the Holy Spirit inspiring "lawfulness", "the working (1753 ἐνέργεια energeia) of God that works (1754 ἐνεργέω energeo) "in me mightily" (Col. 1:29) to obey "the word of God, which also effectively works (1754 ἐνεργέω energeo) in you who believe" (1 Thess. 2:13).
The "Mystery of Godliness" results in "Sanctification by the Spirit" and obedient belief in God's Word of Truth (2 Thess. 2:13-15; John 17:17; 1 John 2:20-21; 1 John 4:6)
Versus the "Mystery of Lawlessness" which results in a reprobate mind that exchanges truth for lies.
Its a judgment of God He stop restraining Satan's energy to deceive, because that is what the people chose:
6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thess. 2:6-12 NKJ)
They rejected loving the truth because they preferred the lie, so God gives them over to the energy that inspires belief in lies, satanic energy that convinces people "inwardly" the falsehood they believe is "true".
