The Calling of the 144,000

Sorry Coop, you're the one mistaken. No one gets into the kingdom unless they have accepted Christ's sacrifice. That is unless you are stating that Paul was in error when he stated:

Galatians 2:21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

This has NOTHING to do with what I posted. Paul wrote that the "dead IN CHRIST" rise first. To be "In Christ" necessarily means they have accepted Christ's sacrifice. Then "we which are alive and remain" refer to the REST of those that are "in Christ." We, the church, those "In Christ" have NO APPOINTMENT with His wrath; so again, WE WON'T BE HERE.

By the way, don't confuse the physical kingdom (Millennial reign) with the Spirit kingdom of which we are a part.

Coop,

Joel stated: Joel 2:32 And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

Is your point, that because you believe in a pre-trib rapture that Joels prophecy is no longer accurate?

What kind of prophet was Joel? Or from what nation? Of course, from ISRAEL. So right off, one would guess that His prophecies would be directed at ....ISRAEL.

And what is the context?
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

The context of this chapter is the "day of the Lord." What do we know about that day? We know it is a day of His wrath!!

Isaiah 13:9
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger...

And we know that the CHURCH has no appointment with His wrath.

Therefore, it is not that it is not accurate; of course God's word is accurate!! But it is not directed to the church, for WE WON'T BE HERE.

In the parable of the woman and the manchild, twice we are told that woman goes to "a place" prepared by God where the woman will be protected and fed for the 3 1/2 years of the GT.

Revelation 14: 6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

The wilderness is symbolic, however, Zechariah states that Christ Himself is going to protect the inhabitants on Mount Zion in Jerusalem.

Zechariah 14: 1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you.
2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. 4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

Isaiah confirms this.

Isaiah 31:4 This is what the LORD says to me: "As a lion growls, a great lion over his prey—
and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against him, he is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor— so the LORD Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights.
5 Like birds hovering overhead, the LORD Almighty will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will 'pass over' it and will rescue it."

The prophet Joel confirms that there will be Christian survivors found on Mount Zion in Jerusalem.

Joel 2:32 And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

This is the calling of the 144,000.

I think you are guessing. There are more than one group of survivors: Jesus TOLD people to flee, and flee some of them will, and they go to a REAL place in the wilderness and are protected there. It seems that some will be in captivity in Jerusalem, but are delivered when Jesus comes. A new canyon is formed and they flee through it. Why just people try to spiritualize when a verse makes perfect sense in a literal sense?

The 144000 are not christian but jews as confirmed in Revelation 12000 from each tribe. Apart from that what Guy writes is more or less correct. The Day of the Lord is the Day when YHWH comes against the Nations. That 3 1/2 year period has begun. The woman in Revelatiooin 14 being the bride who is protected in the wilderness until Messiah's return. The prophet Zecharia confirms it is the YHWH Elohim of Hosts who wages the battle against the nations. That time is here.

Yonathan,

Yes, of course the 144,000 are Jews. But they are NOT a part of those that flee. They are firstfruits, and are raptured to heaven, about the time those in Judea flee because they have seen the abomination.
For the Day of the Lord, may I suggest you study Isaiah 2 and Joel 2, and see that both these prophecies have their fulfillment at the 6th seal. And BOTH speak of the day of the Lord. Those that live through the SIGNS of the 6th seal, KNOW that these things are the signs of the day of the Lord. THEREFORE, the day of the Lord will begin immediately after the 6th seal, at the 7th. The first trumpet is the first event of the day of the Lord. This is scripture, and the intent of the author. The 7th seal is the official opening of the FIRST 3 1/2 years.

Sorry, no battle of Armegeddon going on now.

The Day of the Lord is a period of time that sees the end of the first 6 days of creation and marks the beginning of the 7th day - a day being as a thousand years. There is no specific event that marks this that we know of for sure, but for sure we can say that it begins after the passing of 6000 physical years from Adam. And the beginning of this day is in darkness, just as all days begin, in darkness, or at sunset. The 7th Day is a Sabbath Day of rest and so before rest and peace on this earth can commence, a shaking of the earth has to take place, a purging of inpurity is necessary and the YHWH Elohim of Hosts wages war against all the nations who have come against His chosen people, His last few remaining faithful, the 144 000 jews who remain strong through constant persecution and ridicule. The 144 000 are jewish by faith, not by race, not by geneology, for God is no respecter of persons. And as a reward for their faithfulness, Rabbi Yeshua as Head leads these 144 000 to eastablish a Kingdom to exact righteousness on Earth, ruling with an iron rod and setting down the decrees as already commanded by the Father. For the Apostles preached this Word, the Torah of God, so that He could be God and instruct His children in righteousness. The world has turned its back on Torah, the world has turned its back on righteousness, the world has chosen a religious system that bares no resemblance of the true original faith; for these and many more reasons YHWH wages war and purges out all that that is rotten in the world. Our long suffering God is now takeing action. Our time period is now up, the nations have nowhere to hide. Baruch Hashem YHWh Elohim of Hosts. Amein.

How can you possibly say, not by race, when John TELLS US that they come from the tribes of Judah? Did John waste ink? No, of course not. These are 12000 from EACH tribe. If we could trace their ancestry back; we would find that some come from EACH of the 12 tribes as listed. This is, of course BY BIRTH. They are Hebrews by birth, but of course, as you say, are also men of faith. They are firstfruits unto God. You missed this fact. They are raptured to heaven, at the midpoint of the week to BECOME firstfruits. When seen in chapter 14, they are in front of the throne of God, and the four living creatures. Just what the term "firstfruits" means. Of course, it also means there will be the main harvest following: the remnant that survives the 70th week, and finally see the ONE that they pierced.

Yes of course from the twelve tribes, 12000 from each, believers in Yeshua Messiah and doers of Torah, HalleluYah!

"Now if you are called Yähudäya (Jews), and you delight in the law, and you boast in the Almighty, that you know his will and you discern what is proper from your education in the law..." - Romans2:17-18 - The Peshitta

"Therefore if he who is uncircumcised keeps the commandments of the law, is it not apparent that the uncircumcised be considered as though he was circumcised? And the uncircumcised who naturally fulfill the law will judge you who with the genealogical records and circumcision violate the law. For he is not a Yähudäya (Jew) who is by appearance, not even he who is visibly circumcised in the flesh. But he is a Yähudäya (Jew) who is one inwardly, and who is circumcised of the heart, in spirit, and not according to the genealogical records, and who is not approved by men but rather by the Almighty." - Romans 2:26-29
- The Peshitta

And we read of the firstfruits:

Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Rom 8:23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.
- KJV

For he is a jew not according to geneological records; but he is a jew who is circumcised of the heart in spirit and we (the first Apostles) have the firstfruits of the Spirit, waiting for the redemption of our body. These words simple yet poweful distinguish between the firstfruits of the Spirit waiting for bodily resurrection and the jews while living are jews not by race or geneology but by a circumcision of the heart by Spirit. Yes jews as defined here are the firstfruits but at the time of the end 12000 of each tribe are still living and are described as being the woman who is protected in Zechariah. Those firstfruits who are dead will indeed be resurrected in bidily form as Paul speaks about in Romans, but not to be confused with those who still live at the time of the end, 12000 of each tribe of which the Messiah is soon to appoint by the casting of lots.

Ah!! Yonathan, you are speaking of the church! John was not. And forgive me, I meant to say, from the tribes of Israel, and I wrote Judah, which was only one of the tribes. Certainly, if any, from any of the tribes received Jesus now, it would be as Paul said, neither Jew not Greek, but one in Christ. But these 144,000 are not a part of the church. They are sealed, after the church is removed as the restraining force.

No I am speakijng of jews as all scripture is centered around. Jews! There is no where in scripture which mentions christian. Christians are a later Roman invention not spoken of at all in any part of scripture, and why would they be? Scripture was written by jews and for jews. If christianity stole their scriptures and plagarised it then woe unto the christians! Woe to those who add and/or take away any of the words contained within this book!

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

Maybe so but evidence points to the greek to english translation of the NT as being full of mistakes, contradictions, mistranslations and errors. I doubt any of the intentional mistranslations will be received well by the Messiah on the Day of His judgement

Hbr 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

"Christian" in many versions.

Acts 26;28
1 Peter 4;16
Acts 11;26

I dont know which book of the bible you think Rev 22;19 concerns but I'll tell you it concerns the book of Rev itself and not the other books in the bible.

Luke was a Gentile. :study

Also, you can't use Hebrews 10:30 as a threat to Christians without acknowledging Christians are God's People. :wave

Yes you are confused and we know who the author of confusion is, but to answer your question I read from the original text - the Peshitta

1Pe 4:16 "If then you suffer as a CHRESTIAN (note the spelling!) do not be ashamed, but give praise to the Almighty on account of this name." What is a chrestian? A chrestian is simply a good person. Further research on this can be found http://www.natzraya.org/Articles/Christ ... stian.html

If Luke was a Gentile then He must have converted to judaism!
Your second point is a good point. The scriptures are indeed centred around the jews, a people set apart in praise of YHWH. However; God created Adam, and from Adam we are descended! Even gentiles ultimately belong to God.

I am not at all confused. I guess you have missed about half of the New Testament.
God sent Peter and the other 11 to minister to Jews, but the same God sent Paul to the Gentiles.
My mother was not a Jew, (or a Hebrew of another tribe), but God is STILL my Father, and Jesus Christ - though a Jew - is my LORD!! But, I have been GRAFTED IN to the true vine.
