The difference in the rapture and the second coming

Or the reverse? How physical is our world/realm? He just knows how to do it, lol.

That will be a hoot brother! I wonder though...I think that we can do those things now...If we travel at the speed of our faith as you said. (great way to put it.)

John 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father./(KJV)

This is curiously worded. The things that I do... not what He may have done in His 3 1/2 year ministry here on earth, that I do, He says. Because I go to the Father, implies while we are still here on earth, don't you think? I think it does. Since God never changes, I think that we have a huge amount of potential to be able to do paranormal things while here. We need only engage the kingdom realm, and act in accordance with our faith and the will of God. Then we could do a lot (God could do much through us).

Translation by faith, anyone? Food from the birds? Why not? We need only receive it, to believe...I think this is what limits God in our lives, not believing in His power enough to be able to receive it.

Yes I agree with you, the possibility is there, ...but I don't believe we, because of and in this present generation could use the power correctly with and in/for the intention it was given, ...evidently in the first century Church the Holy Spirit was present with such force that mere hypocrites died in His presence, ever been a hypocrite, I have, pretending to like a brother or sister that rubbed me the wrong way, ...no, I think Father, in His grace, has limited the power of the Holy Spirit for today, ...if not I don't believe there wold be a Church on the planet.

As for the things that Jesus did, I look at that as He was limited to the tiny country of Israel to present His Gospel, we have the whole world before us, ...ever been on a two week short term missionary trip, I have and during that time the presence of the Holy Spirit was so strong, ...if not I highly suggest you go, it will knock your socks off, and it seems that that on the Mission Field is where the Holy Spirit is working the most powerfully to spread the Gospel, ...which was Jesus' primary ministry.

I've gotten the feeling over time, that the Lord is going to begin doing more signs and wonders...such as like the world has never seen before. These are the end times, and the trouble that the anti-Christ will bring upon this world, will require things to counter the moves that Satan makes. Big things. Luckily, we have a big God.

Somehow...I don't think that we have to worry about using Gods power for His purposes. Whatever needs to be done...has to be within Gods will or it wont happen. I think miracles such as the parting of the Red Sea will pale in comparison to what the Lord has in store for this planet, in the end times. These are exciting times, are they not? In 1 Corinthians 15: 8 Paul speaks of being born out of due time...this always perplexed me and made me unsure what he was talking about. I think I have it figured out now. Paul got to see into the future, and all of the Lords work which will be going on...and something Paul saw, really made him want to be able to live on earth when those things are happening.

But instead, he realized that his time was then, and he wanted to be able to be alive now, because he seen how exciting it is going to be! But we have to have faith to be able to operate within the kingdom realm. We have to believe and receive this power so that it can flow through us and work.

I never have went on a missionary trip. It sounds exciting. The Lord is training me for something, that much is obvious, but I have no clue for what considering the path I walk. So I have to wait and see.

its written "the lord knows the devices of the wise and that they are vain"

Please show me where that verse is.

I think she is talking about 1 Corinthians 3:20. My KJV does not say "devices" but other translations could easily say that. The point being, that, to have a high opinion of our own wisdom, is but to flatter ourselves; and self-flattery is the next step to self-deceit. The wisdom that worldly men esteem, is foolishness with God. How justly does he despise, and how easily can he baffle and confound it! The thoughts of the wisest men in the world, have vanity, weakness, and folly in them. All this should teach us to be humble, and make us willing to be taught of God, so as not to be led away, by pretenses to human wisdom and skill, from the simple truths revealed by Christ. If we set aside our own understanding (like commanded), and become as a little child, to be led by His Spirit, then growth can begin. Most people can not do that though. (too smart for that, lol).

Interesting outlook you have there, I read the Lord saying to the Church today they have little strength Rev 3:8 and the word for strength is dunamis which in other places of the Word speaks of the power of the Holy Spirit.

I'll throw this out, Paul says the Man of Perdition will be revealed by all kinds of signs and lying wonders 2 Thess 2:9, could it be we have seen and are seeing these signs and lying wonders in the last 30years, ...Copperfield made a 747 disappear in Vegas (I think), did he really (I personally don't think so), or was there such a powerful deception at work that the people just thought he did, ...also we have seven TV channels here that are direct from France, there seems to be an increase in the magic shows, people doing what is physically impossible, ...could we be living in the time of the introduction of the Man of Perdition, ...I personally think so.

All of the miracles that I have observed and been used by the Lord have been supernaturally natural, that is no one knew there was a miracle taking place except those that were serving, like the servants that filled the water pots with water, ...but it was awesome!

Maybe you should start knocking on doors for a short term missionary trip for this summer, you might be surprised what door the Lord might open.

Please show me where that verse is.

Psalm 94:11 speaks about it

But it's in the Corinthians

There's one in proverbs to but I can't find it on the Internet next time I listen to proverbs I will tell u

1corithians 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Friends many of u know me or know of the bread which is feed to u through me but the time is coming where I must go.

For u all are safe for now but the Christians in the Middle East are in turmoil . I'm leaving so that I can give strength to them and to prophesy against the land of Israel and all of the destroyers army.

Friends don't forget what was told to u for I do not know if I'm gonna have Internet connection. And plus there's a good chance I'm going to die in that land. But remember all told to u for the rapture is near and we must fight with the weapons of the tongue but do no harm to no man. No matter what bow to no other god save The Lord Jesus Christ

Back to the OP question.

The rapture will take place on day 1335 of the 2520 day 70th Week of Daniel.

Daniel 12:12 (KJV)
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Christians will be so hunted down to that point and so few in number surviving underground, that our extinction will thought to have been achieved before the rapture takes place. Those few who survive 3.5 years being unable to buy or sell without the mark of the beast (a tracking mechanism to locate those who will not receive the mark or Christians in other words) will vanish without any notice of the world.

The return of Christ takes place 1185 days later when the Jews who become the refuseniks the Christians had been are surrounded by the world's armies and face annihilation and as a last resort (sadly) cry out to Jesus. Hosha Nah (hosanna) Save Now YeHOSHua HaMoshiakh (Jesus the Christ). This event (the outcry of the remnant Jews to Jesus thus all [remaining] Israel turns to Jesus) is the purpose for the Great Tribulation.

Hhow about this we all go to sleep and The Lord will tell us are hearts and who's interpretation about the rapture is correct.

Who here agrees? If it be his will The Lord will answer us
Those who sleep in Christ are spiritually in heaven as disembodied spirits.

2 Corinthians 5:1-8 (KJV)
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

The second coming of the Lord is when the disembodied spirits accompany him (Jude 14) and their bodies will rise from the graves first and be reunited with their spirits as resurrected people.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (KJV)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Corinthians 15:35-57 (KJV)
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV)
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

what did jesus say? there is no one in heaven except for he whom came down from heaven?

if u die u wont know anything neither will u awake tillthe heavens are no more

why do u think jesus say do not fear them who has power to kill the body after that there is nothing more that they can do? but fear him who after he has killed he has power to cast into hell?

the only pain a man suffers while in the flesh is while the flesh can feel it. when u are asleep u cant feel anything. u must be awaken to feel the pain. or if the pain is bad u will awake to pain but while asleep ucant feel anything neither do u know what is going on around u

it is the same when u are dead. when u are dead your love and your hatred dies your envy dies neither can u feel or are you aware of anything as it is written by the king solomon in ecc.9:5 for that is the first death.

but when god cast a man into hell fire there will be no sleep for death but an everlasting fire. i can not even imagined being burned to death for 100 years with no rest.

yet it will be forever. for the devil and his angels and his children will go into it. for it is written. I will put enmity between u and the women between his seed and her seed. he shall bruise your head and u will bruise his heel. therefore christ must trample his enemies underfoot.

i do not know how u came up with this time table of events for i do not really understand daniel chapter 9 parts of me thinks he is talking about the first coming of christ but yet here is what i say

If you are waiting to be raptured when the rapture comings as in disappearing i tell u there is a high chance u gonna be killed with the sword of the tongue of the lord and enter into the day of judgment

but if you lose your life waiting for the coming of the lord for christ sake as in another man or women tried to get you to worship another god but u refused and as a result they took your breathe from you by slaying u.

Then i tell u when christ does return u will be raised up.

for the rapture is the martyring of the saints

Got questions takes the credit for it.It is very Biblical and follows Scripture.

The important differences between the rapture and second coming are as follows:

1) At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

2) The second coming occurs after the great and terrible tribulation (Revelation chapters 6–19). The rapture occurs before the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

3) The rapture is the removal of believers from the earth as an act of deliverance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 5:9). The second coming includes the removal of unbelievers as an act of judgment (Matthew 24:40-41).

4) The rapture will be secret and instant (1 Corinthians 15:50-54). The second coming will be visible to all (Revelation 1:7; Matthew 24:29-30).

5) The second coming of Christ will not occur until after certain other end-times events take place (2 Thessalonians 2:4; Matthew 24:15-30; Revelation chapters 6–18). The rapture is imminent; it could take place at any moment (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54).

Why is it important to keep the rapture and the second coming distinct?

1) If the rapture and the second coming are the same event, believers will have to go through the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

2) If the rapture and the second coming are the same event, the return of Christ is not imminent—there are many things which must occur before He can return (Matthew 24:4-30).

3) In describing the tribulation period, Revelation chapters 6–19 nowhere mentions the church. During the tribulation—also called “the time of trouble for Jacob” (Jeremiah 30:7)—God will again turn His primary attention to Israel (Romans 11:17-31).

The rapture and second coming are similar but separate events. Both involve Jesus returning. Both are end-times events. However, it is crucially important to recognize the differences. In summary, the rapture is the return of Christ in the clouds to remove all believers from the earth before the time of God’s wrath. The second coming is the return of Christ to the earth to bring the tribulation to an end and to defeat the Antichrist and his evil world empire.

Question: "What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?"

Answer: The rapture and the second coming of Christ are often confused. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether a scripture verse is referring to the rapture or the second coming. However, in studying end-times Bible prophecy, it is very important to differentiate between the two.

The rapture is when Jesus Christ returns to remove the church (all believers in Christ) from the earth. The rapture is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. Believers who have died will have their bodies resurrected and, along with believers who are still living, will meet the Lord in the air. This will all occur in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye. The second coming is when Jesus returns to defeat the Antichrist, destroy evil, and establish His millennial kingdom. The second coming is described in Revelation 19:11-16.

1) At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17

  • This scripture involves the Resurrection of the dead and the Rapture of those who are alive and remain as one event.
...we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

  • This scripture is in fact the Coming of the Lord. The Second Coming of the Lord, of which there is only one. [ those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28 ]
...that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

  • Those who have died will come with Jesus. - ...God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

Paul is describing the Day of the Lord, whereby Jesus returns with His saints, and destroys the enemies of the kingdom and puts an end to all rule and authority.
This Day of the Lord will comes as a Thief in the Night for the world, but not for the Church.

There is no difference whatsoever between 1 Thessalonians 4 and Revelation 19 and Matthew 24.

The all involve the Coming of the Lord.

The is only one Coming of the Lord, as He will come a Second Time, apart from sin, for salvation.

...those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28

That is why His Coming is called the Second Coming.

The Resurrection, 1 Thessalonians 4:17, occurs at His Coming at the end of the age.

Why is it crucially important? Will a believer in Christ not be saved if they don't recognize the differences? Will the Lord deny them? Will they not be caught up? :shrug
