The Holy War

And I took the time to respond to one of them. You asked me what I understood about the armor, and I gave you a look of what I know of the gospel armor, but you didn't like it; you only took it as sarcasm. Maybe it hits too close to home.

But all you seem to do is point to the scripture, beyond that you offer nothing. Don't just post the scriptures from Ephesians 6 that talks of the gospel armor. Tell us about your gospel armor. Describe it for us. Tell us about your shield of faith. How is it that your feet are shod. The gospel armor is something you put on for yourself, surely you can describe it for us?

Why would I not point to Ephesians 6:10-18 that explains what we war against and as we go forth in spiritual warfare wearing what is explained there as being the full armour of God that we are to put on. You are right that the Gospel armour is what I put on myself by faith in God's word in order to stand against the enemy as Christ will always give us the victory.

As long as we dwell on this earth there will always be Spiritual warfare (Holy Wars) as the principalities of this world rage war against those who are in Christ and He in them. This is why we need to always have the armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-20, in order to fight these battles as we are overcomers through that of Christ Jesus who always goes before us in battles.

Example of this is found in the book of Revelations when after the beast and the kings of the earth wage war against God's people, Rev 19:11-21, and a final battle ensues with Satan and the nations of the earth against God Himself.

Matthew 24:29-31; Rev 19:11-21 Jesus descends down from heaven with His army of the host (angels) of heaven as while remaining in the air He sends His angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather His own to Him. He will destroy the beast and false prophet casting them alive into the lake of fire, Rev 19:15, 16. The remnant in Rev 19:21 are the world leaders of every nation on the earth that have followed after the beast that rules their government. The remnant will be slain by the very words Jesus speaks of their damnation as the fowls will be filled with their flesh and at that time Satan will be chained and bound so he can not interfere with the ungodly people that are still alive on earth that become the footstool of Christ. Then the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ and He shall reign for ever and the saints will begin to rule over the nations here on earth, Rev 11:15; 5:10; 20:1-3; Matthew 5:5.

Rev 20:7-10 Those that have rejected Christ that still remain on earth after the beast, false prophet and all the ruling leaders from every nation that followed after the beast are destroyed are those who are the numbering as the sand of the sea. These are the enemy of God that Satan uses to battle against the saints during the battle of Armageddon that are camped upon the breadth of the earth after Satan is released for a season, Psalms 2:7-10; 110; Ezekiel 36; 37; Rev 20:7-9. The saints are camped not only in Jerusalem the beloved city of God, but also throughout the breadth of the earth. It's only the 144,000 generational Jews that believe in Christ that have returned to Jerusalem. After the 1000 years are fulfilled Satan is set loosed for a season and goes out to deceive the nations as he gathers the enemies of Christ to battle against the saints as the numbering of unbelievers is like the sand of the sea. As the enemy surrounds the camp of the saints God sends fire down from heaven and destroys the enemy and Satan is cast into the lake of fire. Zechariah 14:1, 2; Luke 21:20 and Rev 16:16 mentions the battle of Armageddon when Christ and His army of angels return as Christ plants His feet on the mount of Olives for the final battle as Gog and Magog found in Ezekiel Chapter 38 is the battle of Rev 20:7-9.

Two good books concerning the Holy War that should be read.

1.) The Invisible War by Donald Grey Barnhouse.

2.) The Holy War by John Bunyan. (same Bunyan who wrote Pilgrims progress)

I totally agree with that.. And I am sad to say that most Christian people are not fully grown or even ready.
I know exactly what you are talking about and..
Jesus said:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will]. Because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
Hosea 4:6 AMP
Do you have an actual witness from your own life about this?

I don't really have the time for reading books. Can you give us something if you read it on what they are actually talking about?

I know a little bit myself.. don't feel the need to get condescending remarks.
Christians ought to help eachother..
I totally agree. As you said earlier. The lack of Knowledge is keeping us weak. So we need to give that Knowledge. Put all together and Grow to be "Strong". And when we are what is then suppose to happen?

Eph. 4
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children,

I have a better book to read, it's called the Holy Bible and teaches past, present and future Holy wars.

The first battle mention in scripture is found in Genesis 14:1-24. Shinar, Ellasar and Elam became known later in scripture as being Babylon, which is now modern day Iraq. These kings have always fought and taken captive Gods covenant people starting with Lot who was Abraham's nephew in whom Abraham took his army and fought against these four eastern kings and defeated them. This first battle was about controlling power, greed and monopoly on international trade (economics) as they tried to defeat everyone who opposed them as they took captive not only possessions from others, but also held them captive those who would not bow down to their false gods. As history repeats itself this same ruling Empire that has existed since the time of Abraham and going clear back to Nimrod and the Tower of Babel will also take place in the end of days when the beast rises out of the sea and gives power to the beast out of the earth who will exercise all the power of the first beast before him. The beast out of the earth will have ruling power over economics, political and a one order religion, Rev Chapter 13.

We know how history repeats itself as Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times as these eastern kings will always try to take posession of what God gave to Abraham through the covenant God made with him in Genesis 12:1-3 and all his generation after him. This will continue until the last day when Christ returns, John 6:40, as these four kings are that of the controlling power within the four nations Daniel speaks of in Daniel Chapter 7 with the last one that received a deadly wound, but the wound has been healed, Revelation 13:3. The four nations are: Babylonian Empire: Iraq (the lion), Medo, Persian Empire: Iran (the ribs of the bear), Grecian Empire: (Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt) four wings of the leopard, Roman Empire: (Iron represents the stronghold this nation had and still has). Daniel chapter 2 mentions the iron element of this empire that it to will be divided and broken as God will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed.

The beast rises up out of the sea as the sea here is symbolic of people and nations as in a sea of humanity, Daniel Chapter 7:1-8; Revelation 17:15. The beast was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies and power was given unto him to continue for three and a half years which equals 1260 days, Daniel 7:25; 12:7; Revelation 11:2, 3. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints and to overcome them and power was given him over all kindred’s, and tongues, and nations as this beast is the same as the four eastern kings found in Genesis 14:1-24 and Daniel Chapter 7.

Notice the fourth king in Genesis 14:1 was king over many nations as Satan worked through him as well as the other three kings, Genesis 14:14:1. This is the same with the beast out of the earth, that is the son of perdition/last antichrist) that Satan works through who will try to devour all those of faith in God and His Son Christ Jesus, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; Rev 13:11-18. Daniel 7:24, 25 and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, He will think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time (3 1/2 years). This fourth king (beast out of the earth) whose deadly wound came in 1798 and the wound was healed in 1929 is even now plotting for economic, political, military and religious control as he is the son of perdition who is the last false prophet (antichrist) who by lying signs and wonders will cause a great falling away from God, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8 in as much as he can deceive the very elect if possible, Matthew 24:24.

Jerusalem was destroyed twice because GOD brought judgement upon her. These eastern kings that you speak of were servants of God.

You keep quoting Ephesians 6 all the time. Do you understand it?

WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD

Yet you just said yourself you war against the principalities of this world. By your words, you war against flesh and blood.

Don't know the first but I have read The Pilgrims Progress and have started reading Holy War.
I would also recommend John Bunyan.
Best I have ever read after The Bible of course! :)
Will check out the first you mentioned.
Regards..

Do, and order it. You won't regret it. Barnhouse also has a 4 volume set on the book of Romans. Invaluable.

A believer must get (Romans) understood. It is the main book for the Church of Jesus Christ.

I agree. Romans is the basis of the church today. But does not leave out any other scripture!

That's fine, you can have respect for the puritans as I do also. But know that knowledge of the Bible doesn't end with the Puritans.

Of course it doesn't leave out other Scripture. You cannot study (Romans) without going all through the Bible.

But, you must lay hold of the truths Paul is expounding on in (Romans).

It's up to you. I am just a sign post pointing this and that way.

Jerusalem was destroyed twice because GOD brought judgement upon her. These eastern kings that you speak of were servants of God.

I agree that everything that happened against Jerusalem was God's judgement against Israel's disobedience.

The Eastern Kings I am speaking about are the four kingdoms/ Empires in Daniel chapter 7.

Babylonian Empire:
(Iraq) The lion represents the winged lions that guarded the royal places of Babylon. This Empire ran from 2000BC - 1759BC

Medo – Persian Empire:
(Iran) The ribs of the bear are part of the consuming greed that devours the first empire. This Empire ran approximately from 536BC - 330BC

Grecian Empire:
(Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt) Four wings of the leopard described the swiftness of this empire that ran from 334-331BC. It wrestled world dominion from Medo-Persia. After the death of Alexander the Great the kingdom was divided into four minor kingdoms that continued as prominent factors in world politics until the Roman Empire gathered it back as one kingdom.

Roman Empire: (little horn, Daniel 8:9-14, 23-27)
Iron represents the stronghold this nation had. Daniel chapter 2 mentions the iron element of this empire that it to will be divided and broken as God will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed.
This Empire ran from 753BC -27BC

Yet you just said yourself you war against the principalities of this world. By your words, you war against flesh and blood.

I understand what the full armour of God is and why we wear it everyday, but apparently you might not as you question me why I put this on myself.

I agree we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but read the rest of Ephesians 6:12 as it says but we wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Tis is why we put on the full armor of God.

Who is your enemy?

I have to question why you would even ask me who the enemy is.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

We are given the victory over Satan by Christ Jesus as we put on His full armour so we can stand against the principalities of this world being the beast out of the sea and the beast out of the earth that Satan works through to try and destroy us, Rev 13.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
