The mess that OSAS theology made

Let me clarify something however. I believe in the concept of OSAS, I do not believe OSAS doctrine will save me. That my friend, is why Christ died on the cross.

Yes!!!!!

It should always be about Christ! ALWAYS!

I truly feel sorry for you. I pray that you love your fellow believers enough to encourage them to be obedient to His teaching and commandments. His teaching and commandments are wonderful enough to deserve everyone's respect.

You don't understand the concept of the theology. You really don't. You are speaking in ignorance and I can't discuss this way.

I encourage my brothers and sisters to focus on Christ!!!!!! You can't go wrong when your eyes are fixed on Christ. Now if that's wrong, in your opinion, then you're in a whole heck of a lot more trouble than I thought.

Your salvation is works based not Christ based!

Again I say...

So what was the purpose of starting this thread? Is it to debate OSAS? Was it to expose lies (because you haven't brought any to the table yet - I'm still waiting). Or is it to sit on your self-righteous high horse and bag out a theology you don't understand and insult your fellow Christians who happen to believe in it?

If it's the latter - then I'm not interested! I don't believe it's very Christian to sit around and throw assuptions and accusations around at people without actually having anything substantial to back it up - other than "Well I know such and such and I talk to people".

So if you're not interested at all in finding out the TRUTH behind the OSAS theology - then I don't wish to waste my time in this thread.

Nice talking to you though - it taught me a lot. Thank you!

BTW I know you from another board

I just wanted to expose the truth about the OSAS theology and stop the damage any further.

Good day.

May God be with you.

But you haven't done that, friend, you have not presented anything substantial in which to debate with. All you've done is work on hearsay - on a theology you know nothing about.

That's not the way you expose truth. If you want to expose truth then you better start researching what you wish to expose! But you refuse to do that. What do you expect us all to do...just nod and say 'yeh' and take your word for it?

come on now! If you want scriptures then ask for them - but I must say...that there's already a VERY LONG THREAD full of scriptures to back up the OSAS theology in this forum - so perhaps you're best bet is to head there and take a look.

Oh and just so you know, I once believed as you do now. And I would throw accusations around too - just like you! That was until God showed me something about HIS POWER that blew me away. Not only did it blow me away, but it showed up how arrogant I was about my own salvation. To think, that I could undo the work of the almighty like that - I cannot believe I used to think that way...:sad

The truth about OSAS is...it's the TRUTH. Romans 8:38-39, 1 Corinithians 15:22, John 10:28 1 Peter 1:4-5 ALL support it.

Actually, it's rather humbling when you realise that it's not about you and your power that keeps you saved. And it feels so much more secure to put my faith totally on God's abilities and not my own.

If you truly love Jesus, we think about how we can be a good witnesses for Him. Without following His teaching and commandments. we can never be good witnesses. If we don't have a heart of evangelizing for Him we dont really love Him. Jesus says "If you love me, keep my commandments" It's so simple. By blindly following His teaching, He
gave me a heart of evangelism.

Why are you so against His teaching? I just dont get it.

I haven't see any one claiming OSAS that are powerful witnesses for the Lord.

It seems that people who claim OSAS are playing Christians.

Did Christ defy the kind of powerful King the Jews were waiting for, as their rightful Messiah? They couldn't see that he WAS the son of God because he was not what they were expecting.

Isn't it just like the Lord to witness in a manner that actually touches people; rather than make a big "show" for appearances only.

You judge all too quickly.

And I agree with you. I believe that a child of God naturally gravitates towards God.

You do realise that if you break even ONE of his commandments you break them all don't you? I hope you're perfect at it! Because I'm not! That's why I rely on Christ's perfect obedience and righteousness for my own. That's why I walk in HIM and allow HIM to work THROUGH me. That way his works are my works and I am gauranteed that it will be prefect because it's him that produces his works in me and not the other way round.

Again - you are basing your salvation on works and not Christ.

Why are you so against His teaching? I just dont get it.

It's you who doesn't get it!

Maybe you should stick around a bit longer - because I know heaps of them. And they do it - not out of blind obedience but because they are a new creation in Christ and the HOly Spirit works in them. It becomes second nature - not something you have to think about doing "Gee I better love my neighbour today".

It seems that people who claim OSAS are playing Christians.

A lot of people play Christianity - they are called 'false professors'.

The sheep hear his voice AND THEY FOLLOW HIM.

I'm the Lord's sheep - Jesus doesn't lose sheep :) And thank God for that!

Yep that's right!!! I was once one of those 'show ponies' and my faith was dead - wasn't a very nice way to live :)

I am done with you. I pray that you truly give your life to Jesus and know Him. We never know Him unless we truly live for him. You sound so typical church goer. I know many church goers like you. You have used all empty platitude. They put down people by saying "I was once like you"

"wide is the road that leads to destruction."

Have you read my posts at all?

Sweetie, I'm a born again child of God. I've been born again! I've been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and I don't go to church!

Man, you really need to stop judging ok - it doesn't become you!

I haven't made assumptions or judged you or your character so please show me the same respect.

Never ceases to amaze me how many 'nite owls' there are on this boards ;-)

You are done? Where does that leave Christ friend?

The only fruits I see are that of wrath.

You are angry at people for loving the Lord - what does that say to you?

Different time zones friend. I'm in Australia and it's nearly 4.30 in the afternoon.

Look, I'm sorry. I just get annoyed when people make assumptions and throw accusations around that are not founded on anything but opinions. I really want to help you understand why I believe in OSAS, because, believe it or not, I didn't wake up one morning and think 'I'm gong to believe in this now because I want to do what I want' - that is NOT how it happend at all.

I do - do what I want... but what I want is what God wants because I believe that God has put his desires in my heart and I walk in Christ. So my desires are his desires - so I kinda do what I want anyway. It's just that now...what i want is not the same as what I wanted when I wasn't saved. You dig?
