The Pre-Tribulation Rapture?

This has been one of the most talked about subjects since I joined here. The interpretation of the Word has a lot (if not everything) to do with the views we hold and the reason(s) why. The best practice - be prepared, go about our Father's business doing the work for the Kingdom, and not get caught up in the mere interpretations, but rather live a life that glorifies the Father. In doing so, you can know that when His arrival has finally come, you can be certain you will be a part of that glorious event.

No answer from Reba!

Isa_54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

1Ti 6:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Php_3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Joh_1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

over and over we see messiah translated as Christ..
.

Those references are all references to Jesus Christ our Lord.

The reason we know this is because other scriptures, known as the whole counsel of God, teach us this truth.

The antichrist or false messiah is referred to as three different titles in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8

In Daniel he is referred to by three titles; "little horn", as well as "the prince who is to come", and "northern king".

36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.
Daniel 11:36

  • It is to this language that Paul is referring when he writes 2 Thessalonians 2.

...exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, 2 Thessalonians 2:3

...Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, Daniel 11:36

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8

In addition Paul calls him the "lawless one" from this language as well, in which Daniel says - the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, Daniel 11:36

Lawlessness is defines as doing what is right in your own eyes; doing according to your own will.

again

8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.
Daniel 7:8

again

“And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”
Daniel 9:26-27

It is to this language that Jesus teaches us about him.

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24:15-27

My Point -

Whether referred to as the:

man of sin
son of perdition
lawless one
the prince who is to come
false christ
antichrist
the king who exalts himself above all that is called god [God], or is worshiped
the little horn
the beast

Most people commonly refer to this person who will be revealed in his own time, as the antichrist.

The one who causes everyone to take his mark.

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. Revelation 13:16-18

If you believe this person has indeed been revealed in the past, then please tell us his name.

"Destroy at the brightness of His coming"

Destroy what?

1. His ministry
2. His rule/reign over the nation's
3. His spiritual blindness over the world
4. His person

What is destroyed?

Let the interpretation begin -

The lawless one himself will be destroyed by the brightness of his coming.

You aree the one who went on and on about how I don't use scripture when asked, but just ignore the post.

I think anyone who has been around here for a while knows that I use scripture, written out for all to discuss.

I find your comment derogatory, and untrue.

i answered with scripture which you said was not an answer..

Here is my question.

Who does the following references refer to?

The Lamb of God
The Son of Man
The Savior
The Messiah
The King of kings
My Redeemer

The Answer is: Jesus Christ.

Please refer to the post number where you replied to my question with an answer.

Of course ... I'm letting not you alone but anyone reading this thread not to give into the interpretation of Scripture by any side of the debate.

I'm here only to give the readers an understanding that none of this matters to their salvation. This subject matter will neither save nor condemn their souls.

You can disagree all day long, but then it would be you providing false doctrine. Only the Blood of Christ can save us.

If you had any solid proof then it couldn't be debated because it would be doctrine proof. Neither you nor I have this... What we have is a interpretation of what we believe will happen.

If someone came along and started another religion, Muslim, Buddhism etc. Those would be considered false doctrine. Please learn the difference.

Thank you

Another post with no scripture.

By providing answers to these sorta questions; Mr. JLB will then run a time-line to provide his interpretation of the order of events based around the Antichrist/false prophet.

You didn't like the scriptures I gave so now you want an extra biblical resource? :nono

Yeah Reba, I got you.

It's all just games right, no scripture.

Please read what this scripture says.

Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
1 Timothy 4:16

The doctrine of Christ is the sure foundation we are to build our lives on, once we obey the Gospel.

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Matthew 7:24-27

If we do not continue in the faith, and depart from Christ, the we are no longer a partaker of or have Christ Jesus.

12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, Hebrews 3:12-14

Again I ask you, does it glorify God to teach what is false to His children.

What Glorifies God is being fruitful, and expressing the righteous life of Jesus Christ within us, by doing what is right and loving and caring for His people, and teaching what is right to His people.

5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:5-8

Then why all the derogatory comments that you are slandering me with, suggesting I don't use scripture?
really ? derogatory comments..
When some one does not agree with you or i it does not necessarily follow their view or doctrine is false
. Most here are fellow believers ... not heretics ...

Show the scripture that say the antichrist will be destroyed
you did not post such a scripture ... you claim you did but you did not... you posted the common answer for the question .. because there is not a scripture that says the antichrist will be destroyed
When others do the same as you you dont accept it ... that is where the double standard comes in...
Hoping you will see and begin to respect others as you wish to be respected,,,

Why make things up me that are not true?

Is this about your Preterist beliefs?

You don't like my scripture that teaches us the man of sin, the lawless one, the son of perdition, who is also referred to as,
the beast, the antichrist, the little horn will be destroyed by the brightness of His coming?

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8

The false christ who goes to the soon to be rebuilt Temple and proclaims himself as God, is just that, the false christ, or antichrist.

3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Sorry you don't believe that.

Of course there is no Scriptures. Why should there be? Did I bring up anything in reference to Scripture that I needed to back up?

What is your basis for believing in a pre-trib rapture, if not from the scriptures.

This verse here teaches us that the Rapture will coincide with the Resurrection, whereby both those who are Resurrected from the dead, and those who are Raptured will be caught up together, to be with the Lord in the air.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

This will occur at His coming.

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

The lawless one, the man of sin, the false christ, aka; the antichrist will be destroyed at His coming.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2 Thessalonians 2:8
