I can hear that song in my head now Vic. I did get to see them in 71 or 72 great show.

I was in high school at the time going through my semi rebellious years and I got a hold of some zep tickets and was really excited to go with a couple of my pals and my honey hanging on my arm looking all cool...., when the next day, John Bonham died...I was devastated...My how my priorities have changed...

Speaking for myself FoxFan, which BTW I appreciate how you backed me up there at times! But personally I don't feel that I have anything else to say to those other people, except to stay back and pray for them (which also seemed to offend someone) I won't apologize for stating trruth from the word of God just because they got offended by it, I won't back down from that. I will shout it from the rooftops that JESUS is LORD and if people get offended by that , well you know what, I'd rather offend them than to offend my LORD. :D

Hi sister, if you are referring to me about being offended, I am never offended when a Christian prays for someone. What bothered me is the fact that you came over here, and announced to everyone the need you felt to pray for someone. Someone who can come here and read it and maybe feel you felt superior to her.

I was talking to someone who knows what's going on, and I do realize I should've taken it to their pm so that was my wrong doing there. I don't have any beef with you Repub, I thought we were pretty much on the same page over there. I know you stand pretty firm about your beliefs, but I just felt like I was casting my pearls before swine so I decided to leave. There are more important things I can do besides discuss other peoples false Doctrines and share brownies with them, that's just where I stand on all of this.

Did any of you metal heads buy into the backward masking?
Stairway to heaven played backwards = my sweet satan :o
There may have been something to it, but as you see here I am a witness that God is bigger than all of that nonsense. Besides, why risk damaging my Shure N97xE stylus.

Yeah I remember when people were talking a lot about playing Zeps and the Beatles records backward. And don't even mention Black Sabbath' who I did see twice' in the early 70's.

I have no beef with you either. I do agree about not feeling the need to discuss "other" religions. I learned it a long time ago that for me, it's a waste of time. Time I should be worshiping my Lord and studying His word. I really only feel the need to to in the thread when other Christians are there to talk to. It would be different if they "wanted" to learn and sincerely were seeking God, but we both know that's not the case. I feel the same way you do, about the pearls!!! A friend did bring up an excellent point though about why she likes to learn about other religions. For the simple fact that her children are in their mid to late teens and they are meeting people of other religions and she wants to have the answers to combat their influence! Which I think is a great reason. I'm just glad my daughter is still too young to seek outside influence as far as her spiritual beliefs are concerned.

Hiya Repub! Was thinking about you earlier. Woulda, shoulda, coulda sent you an e mail but just never happened. Sigh, I'm trying to get better about leaving messages for people "just bwecause". I dislike hearing from some only when the need something.

:smt024 I think I've spoken to ALL my friends today!!
That makes me very :smt041

Well I think that there are other ways to go about it other than trying to learn about other faiths because your kids might be dabbling in that stuff, you probably should be on your face in deep prayer about it, and asking the Lord to help your (his) children to get back on the right path. That's just how I see it.

I feel it's important to learn at least some of the basics of other religions/cults, especially when you have children because you need the information in order to witness. In other words, you need to know where they're coming from to be ready to explain why God is opposed to things they may be believing in.
Of course those things should not be taking up too much of your time away from Jesus. There has to be a balance.

Hi rep! Hi sis! Hi sara!

Well we have a bookstore at my church that has some informational books, CD's, and Dvd's Also I know some converted people that were of other faiths. You just have to really careful about who you try to talk to when they are in a different religion. because if your not strong enough, they can end up converting you instead of the other way around.

Hi 3...I agree totally!! That is a great way of seeing it. If you dont' know about other religions, how can you convince a teen, who know EVERYTHING, that what your saying holds water.

And as an example, though he is no teen, but husband was raised Mormon. so when I met him I knew I had to do a little research to convince him how false it is. I'm glad to say, he saw the light. :smt038

That's right. And I have kids who think they know it all but I have to say, when they have questions about Jesus or even Satan, they DO come to me.
