So it seems to me regarding the OP that we seem to all agree, (please correct me if wrong) that the Bride symbol is used for the New Jerusalem. This reveals God`s glory upon that city. (Rev. 21: 2, 11)
And as that city comes down out of heaven in the NHNE then it is not the Rev. 19: 7 group which is in the time of the Lord returning to earth in power and great glory, to deliver Israel and bring vengeance upon the rebellious. (Rev. 19: 15)
So it is the `wife` we are looking at in Rev. 19: 7. We have had some discussion about the `righteous acts,` however I would like to also discuss God`s purpose. Sometimes we are busy with the details and tend to lose what God had planned.
So would anyone like to say why God is remarrying His wife?
And what purpose does God have for a `wife?`
regards, Marilyn.
Probably too many different beans and too many different meats being cooked in the same vessel at the same time for some. I presume (dangerous) that the real issue is we do not live by food alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. New covenant people can handle more complex discussions.
Revelation 3:20 kjv
20. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Some look mostly at the corporate body of Christ. Nothing wrong with that, usually. There is an individual aspect too. The tree of life is in the New Jerusalem to nurture / feed individuals.
Revelation 21:2 kjv
2. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
I do not have a long involved understanding of what I have said thus far.
2 Corinthians 11 warns of Satan coming as an angel of light to deceive. You are welcome to examine me.
The divorced wife remarried:
Romans 11.1 kjv
1. I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham,
of the tribe of Benjamin.
2. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
3. Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to
the image of Baal.
All Jews were not terrible. The one new man needs the Jewish insight into the oracles of God.
IMHO he will keep his wife as a virgin when he remarries. The warning to the Gentiles is (do not be too high minded or you could be cut off).
Have I covered it all? No. Please post your stance.
