The Teachings of Paul

I don’t believe this. The almighty word of the Lord is found all throughout the Old Testament and in the teachings of Jesus, in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, but I think the teachings of Paul are a matter of Paul sharing with us his own opinions, most of which are very helpful.

You have been given the truth over and over again yet you grasp firmly to the lie. Who is the father of all lies?

Please get the point, elijah. Deception is where you are parked. Fighting to hold onto Satan's lies is a very dangerous place to be. Don't remain one of many deceived Christians. That is Satan's plan--delude believers so they will be ineffective for the Kingdom.

You have absolutely no reason to conclude that, just as you have no reason to conclude that only 4 books of the bible are truth, and the 62 others are to be taken lightly. That is not the thinking of one who is born again.

All along I have maintained that most of what Paul says is very helpful. I think you misrepresent me by saying I take the rest of the Bible lightly.

God's word to you is far more than helpful. It is food to your starving spirit. Taking Paul 'with a grain of salt' is a slap in God's face!

Re: The Teachings of the Holy Spirit

I don’t neglect the rest of the Bible. I just think it is best to take the teachings of Paul with a grain of salt.
That's not what the Holy Spirit said through Peter though. Read again:

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Peter wrote under the unction of the Holy Spirit. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He said that that there are somethings written in Scripture (by Paul) that are hard to be understood. He said that some (unlearned) men twist what Paul said just like they do the rest of the Word of Truth. That does NOT mean that we have permission to take what was twisted as truth and then proclaim, "Only the parables of Jesus are the truth, everything else spoken by the Holy Spirit through man is subject to error."

There was a time when you thought that all the gospels were given by God and contained no error. Then your mind told you, "Some of the things stated in the Gospels were statements made by men." So you changed your belief. Does it not hurt you to kick against the pricks?

You are tripping over something that only you see as wrong when it isn't. By harping on one thing you don't understand, you miss out on the life Jesus wants to give you.

The entire swimming pool is there for us to enjoy, but you choose to sit in the kiddie pool. So sad.

The purpose of the Bible is to bring us closer to the Lord. You should be obsessed with the Lord. Instead, you seem to be obsessed with the Bible.

Branch out and learn of Christ through His word by His Holy Spirit. There is more of Him there for you. Staying a baby isn't what God wants.

I have read the Bible. Now I want to get to know the Lord better by having a personal relationship with him.

It is because of my deep relationship with Jesus Christ and the power of Holy Spirit in me that I must stand toe to toe with you here.

If you think that is the purpose of God's word, then why do you hypocritically spurn it?

Deception is where you are parked.

Here is where I am parked:

We weren’t meant to become obsessed with the Bible. We were meant to develop personal relationships with the Lord. The purpose of the Bible is to help us do that.

There will always be an impediment in your relationship with Jesus Christ when you reject any part of His word.

Your obsession is to deny. What are you afraid of? What is the purpose of your denial of scripture? Behind every stronghold is a lie and behind every lie is a fear...what is the fear that this lie you believe is feeding?

Consider if you will another thought. This is from me, I'm not Jesus, I'm not God, I'm not Paul. It is my thought that you are the temple of God. I have this on good authority. It is also my thought that you are being called unto perfection. Part of that process involves accepting the Grace of God and the Sacrifice of Jesus and exchanging shame with His Righteousness.

Another part of that process involves being joined (by God) into the ministry of Jesus. I think you are being called by God into a permanent ministry. A priestly ministry. Have you considered this? There were three veils in the Temple of the Wilderness.

Actually, I doubt if we disagree on that many things. Do you disagree with anything Jesus said in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John?

As believers in Christ, we are all called into the royal priesthood.

Believing lies hinders that. Christians never grow beyond the point at which they are stuck in disobedient or unbelief.

Good. But the limited truth you have is.

Not all things are contained in the Bible. There is much more to learn.

But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. John 21:25 RSV

God’s Word is law. I think his Word is contained in the teachings of Jesus, as found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
