Yes I didn't share all verses, of the Apostles praying for those who believed the testimony ( of the Gospel of Christ from the Lords Holy Apostles)

They pray always for them, that God would count them worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of His goodness, and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in them, and them in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. ( that is belief in how to be overcomers, and if they do not believe these testimonies, how will they be overcomers.)

I assume you mean we are to pray like David and others that the Good Shepherd, will keep us, guide us and hold us safe in His loving arms. As I look back over my 77 years, I can truly say the Lord has done just that, despite my being extremely stupid at times.
