I have never thought there was anything to determine . At the church when I was born again before I left the altar I was given the gift of speaking in tongues by the Holy Spirit . I did not let the Holy Spirit have the utterance there at the altar because I did not understand what was going on inside of me, I could feel the Holy Spirit wanting to speak but I quenched the Spirit . About a week later I did let the Holy Spirit have the utterance .

I think several of us are not wild, run the pew back folks. We have years of self examination and seeking the higher gifts. We do not claim to be perfect. None of us are exactly alike. The spiritual gifts are especially for the Church.
I would think we endure criticism for the good of everyone concerned.

I personally am learning from all this discussion. Is it totally reversing the way I believe? No. Is it refining some of it? Yes. Does it show? Well it is not totally about the outer man.
Paul looked at his wretched man, and he looked at the mind of Christ in himself.

Am I human? Am I a robot? Do I have conflicts?
These are issues we face.

Paul was coming against the new covenant believers and God chose him to be used in the kingdom. Makes no sense to the carnal me, but that is what God did. Enemy of the Church one day and on fire for Jesus shortly later. Off to Arabia to receive revelations. And he said it is not me but Christ that s
Works in me. Who gets the credit? God.
