Who Are The Magi

It is not Paul who called Balaam as prophet but Peter. Anyway, Scripture defines who is a false prophet in Deut 18:21. Since He is not a false prophet (since there are no false prophecies - actually all his prophecies came true), who was it that spoke with Balaam for him to prophesy?

If Balaam is not a prophet of God,
  • who's prophet is he?
  • who's angel stopped him on the way?
  • who opened the mouth of the donkey?
  • who spoke with him to say exactly what He says?

Are you being mesmerized by any means that a prophet of God will never fall away?

Sorry, I meant to say Peter. Even Satan has his own ministry which is the complete opposite of Gods ministry as Satan also has his own evil governing bodies which includes his prophets that speak that of his own blasphemies through the mouths of his prophets just as Balaam was a prophet of speaking destruction against Israel.

You never answered a single question I asked.

How can you prove from Scripture that it was Satan while Scripture clearly says it was God who spoke with Balaam and blessed Israel?

There is no mention of Satan nor any indication of his involvement here.

John 8:32, First we know Jesus wasn't born on Dec 25, but this is a date that we celebrate His birth and to us has nothing to do with anything else.
It was the brightness of the star that was Gods Shekinah Glory that His angel lead them safely to the baby Jesus.
Matthew 2:11 says gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
It says house, but back in that time many lived in the same dwelling with their animals.
A young child can be a baby as it wasn't until the wise men left that the angel of God warned Joseph to flee and go to Egypt because Herod was having every child age two and under killed.
Rev 12 has nothing to do with this at all. What does the sun, moon and stars have to do with the birth of Christ and the Maji.
And why take Christ out and put an x there as Christmas means celebrating that of the birth of Messiah.

First it was Gods angel that spoke and worked through the ass to stop Balaam from trying to destroy Israel and the blessing was that Israel was blessed by the hand of God turning Balaam away as Balaam returned to his home defeated in his intended purpose. Satan is not named, but who do you think it is that wants to obliterate Israel. You can not take just one verse to make your case as you need the whole to understand the one.

I can not believe you do not know the resources of Satan and how he uses others like Balak even though they are unaware Satan is using them. Maybe you need to study how Satan works in this world. Balaam knew God as he even claimed Him as his Lord, but yet had no inclination of who these people were that came out of Egypt as he believed King Balak that these people would destroy Balak's kingdom. That's why God sent His angel to speak and work through the ass to stop Balaam, but God was angry with him because he got up and went with these men.

THE maji came first to Jeruselem and then followed the star to Jesus home town of Bethleham. By that time Jesus was a young child..Mat. 2....Or litterally a toddeler. That is why Herod killed all the children there who were under 2 and they had to escape to Egypt.

I THINK it is so cool that Our God uses what we know to draw us to Himself and opens our eyes to see Jesus and to guide us. I in no way condone astrology or Baalams treachery. But God can use anything to His glory.

Why do you add stuff not mentioned in Scripture ?

I am adding nothing to scripture, but showing you how evil Balak was to send Balaam to destroy Israel. Do you not believe that Satan also works through people to try and destroy that which belongs to God. I know scripture never mentions Satan, but who do you think was behind the evil to destroy Israel.

Who tore the kingdom into of Israel and Judah after Solomon? Who made the Israelites as slaves and captives and completely destroyed Israel but left only Judah for the sake of David? Who made Israel a wasteland until the Sabbath is fulfilled?

It is not good to add to Scripture when it doesn't say something. Not everything is from Satan as most of things are punishments for their own sins.

Satan can only deceive and cannot make you or force you sin. Everyone is responsible for their sins as they sin because of their own desires.

Yes, i was really tired and screwed up this post pretty bad . Thanks for editing it.

Felix, you and I have gone way off topic as when I began the OP it was to show how to give our best gifts to Christ, but you and I have taken a different route from what I intended this to be so I will continue with what we are discussing.

Even though Satan uses people unaware I might have been wrong to name Satan in this particular situation as I went back to study this a little deeper. Thank you for making a point of this. Balak had no knowledge of who these people were that came out of Egypt, but only presumed they would come against and conquer his kingdom for there were so many of them. This is why he devised his plan to send out Balaam to destroy these people. I believe Balak and Balaam believed in God especially by the conversation of Balaam to Balak about God coming to him and also by Balaam calling God his Lord, but were clueless of those they wanted to destroy. It was only by the hand of God that Balaam was stopped and told to return back to his own country.
