Who is the devil

Is it possible your own guilt has made you look to find guilt in others? And did not I see this in you?
I did and you are not free, you are yet in bondage and dont even know it. So you look to brings others into your prison of shame and guilt.

well now I know who you are, because I am free, a freedom found in Christ Jesus alone, your upset because I have told you what a powerless gospel you preach, there is no freedom in your gospel, it is a gospel of bondage and you know it, and the only thing I look for is sharing the transforming power of Jesus thats transforms sinners like myself into real new creations in Christ Jesus. I don't have any desires for my former life, I am happily married for ten yrs and have a family. who the Son sets free is free indeed!.........and you need to repent

you have some sort of circling reasoning that never seems to connect, and to me Jesus is not only Savior, He is Lord

What isn't connecting in my post. He is Lord, you're right. Do you believe Jesus is God deity or just the son?

One warning here guys this is it ..... Some folks response to the softer side of this some will respond to the hell fire stuff... Have your say but don't put one another down. Jesus gave His Blood for sinners He also talked about hell....moderator

what does the bible teach urk,

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,[a] the forgiveness of sins.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

You have shared how grace works...the presence of God at work! Glory to God! Grace teaches you when your focus is on the Cross.

there is no need for repentance when people don't understand they are bound for hell, without repentance there is no forgiveness of sins, teaching people they can live in sin's that lead to death is a false gospel, its of no help to anyone trapped in sin, loving the sinner is a great thing, you can love them all the way to hell it won't change their destiny, unless they repent and turn from their wicked ways.

Many only want to hear half truths. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Its the love of God that leads men to repentance, that while we were yet sinners Christ died for me...............It wasn't the love of some preacher that brought me to my knees........ITS THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!.........there is a huge difference

some people think believers can continue in blatant sin

Agreed but we have different ears ... I could speak to one of my kids in a soft tone the other is like his mom :) Are you in the same place in Christ as you were years back or have you grown?

wow! I must be really pushing some buttons today? I will back off, it seems that some have found the limits of their charity? Funny how angry the grace of God makes some folks? If you dont mix a little law, shame and guilt in their gospel, they cannot accept it.

The law came by moses
Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
It is the goodness of God that leads to repentance. Not fear not shame, not guilt!

Address your comments "At the Man" and not to the subject under discussion. Include what may be seen as ad hominem attacks in what you say here.

Sparrowhawke . o O (Yeah, that's the ticket. Let's see where this goes, shall we?)

I was pretty sure the thread had been warned about comments "to the man" and not addressing the subject.
The subject is "Who is the devil" - not each other.
One warning here guys this is it .....

Personal (not just thread) warnings come next.

Very good sir, two more things and I will leave you alone. What temple was Jesus referring to in John 2:19. Lastly, who were you referring to when you say aliens, I'm still confused with that. Do you believe that the devil has to acknowledge God first in order to tempt us? You never really said either way..

No vocalyocal, you have that sentence backwards. The devil already knows God exists. The devil must acknowledge God as the one above him in order for the devil to tempt us. Believers in Christ already know this fact. It's the unbelievers that are unaware of this. God has all power over the devil. God uses the devil to tempt us in order to bring humility and trust to the believer. Temptation makes us stronger in Christ. Temptation is not sin however. When you are tempted, either fight or flee, and it will make you stronger. When God tempts an unbeliever, the unbeliever blames God and continues in sin rather than repenting of their sins. God makes them look like fools.

1 John 3:1-10

English Standard Version (ESV)

3 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

Those who practice sin is the Devil. As stated ,Jesus saves from sins, not in sins.
As I stated above those who practice sin is of the Devil. Jesus saves from sins, not in sins. God will cut you off and turned you over to a reprobate mind.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. 1. the bible anwers that question in verse 21

But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

If you have a scripture on this I would like to hear it
I believe anyone can open a door that allows satan greater access, we see Job had a hedge of protection around him, lets say Job started consulting witches and began practicing sorcery, would he still have that hedge of protection or would he have allowed a door by which would give satan free access into jobs life. It appears that satan doesn't have free reign over who he chooses to devour, but he seeks whom he MAY devour

there are no aliens of what you see displayed in hollywood and the movies, there are only 2 types mentioned beings that are not human that visit this earth and or live on this earth, and they are God's angels and satan and the fallen angels, If you study history satan and his fallen friends have dreamed up all sorts stories for humans to believe, even to the point of calling themselves gods, there are no little green men from mars.

OK, I agree with you that there are no movie type aliens and no green men from mars. I still don't understand your fascination with the word 'alien'. The word alien is no where to be found in the Bible. If it is, they are referring to being not of this world, as in Jesus and born again Christians are from a heavenly order, as in heaven...not from venus or pluto!! lol.

If you study history satan and his fallen friends have dreamed up all sorts stories for humans to believe, even to the point of calling themselves gods, there are no little green men from mars.

What stories are you talking about???

No sir I don't, it's not his sin but his unbelief in who Jesus Christ is, who is Jesus Christ to you?
Rather, it's not his sin as in the same way a psychopath doesn't know he's a psychopath.

When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; James 1:13

When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; James 1:13

And with this you are correct. blessings. When God uses the devil to tempt an unbeliever, the unbeliever blames God and continues in sin rather than repenting of their sins. God makes them look like fools.
